i was really wondering how bethesda felt about this. they made a game where you shoot nazis, so it's a good thing they cleared this up. it was very vague and hard to tell if nazis were bad or not.

When a North Carolina man headed to a convenience store on Tuesday, he had no idea luck was on his side.

Jerry Hicks, a master carpenter from Banner Elk, found a $20 bill in the parking lot of the store, he said in a news release. He spent it on a scratch-off lottery ticket – and won $1 million.

Hicks used the money to buy an Extreme Cash scratch-off, according to the release.

"They actually didn't have the ticket I was looking for so I bought that one instead," he said.

Hicks claimed his prize on Friday at the North Carolina Education Lottery Headquarters. He chose to receive the prize as a lump sum of $600,000 instead of as an annuity over 20 years, according to the release.

After taxes, Hicks took home $429,007, according to the lottery.

Hicks plans to use the money to help his children and retire as a carpenter after 56 years, the release says.

But before that, Hicks wants to enjoy his win.

"We are going to head straight to Golden Corral and eat everything they've got," he said.

Dawg, have you played Immortals of Aveum? It was an $120 million dollar flop. I booted it up on Gamepass just to see where the heck that money went, and I can easily say it was the worst game I've played in years. Gameplay was a piss-easy mess of particle effects, and the unskippable - let me repeat this, unskippable - cutscenes had the worst, most godawful sub-MCU tier quip-a-minute dialog I've ever suffered through.I haven't played Forspoken. But I shudder at the thought that anything could be worse. For anyone looking for a TL;DW of his reasons why:The writing is boring and feels like everyone is always happy go lucky. Rook talks to teammates like they're children.Art style looks like Pixar movie stuff and the facial animations betray any sense of emotion during scenes.Side and partner quests aren't woven into the main storyline at all and feels extremely dated. And they're basically all dialog or combat, no variety.Combat is extremely shallow and enemies are super tanky. He lowered the difficulty to easy not because it was hard, but because it was boring and took forever to kill things above that.Conversations are sterile and there aren't any dark moments like in past Dragon Age games. If you wanted visually great game out of DA2, they'd need more than just 6 months. It would have required complete rebuild of all worldspaces and probably enhancing the engine further as well. Practically remake at that point. (2)

Hm? How did you jump to all of those conclusions? At the time, DA2 looked alright. Wasn't groundbreaking but I don't think people were complaining about its graphics tech. But even then graphical tweaks aren't necessarily a game engine overhaul. A major chunk of game modding community rests on graphic mods that adjust textures, replace models, and other tweaks to get the game to a desired flavor. But that was not the game's chief failing. It was the dungeon and encounter design. A lot of the dungeons were revisits or even blatantly template designs. Battle encounters were frequently using the same cadence of throwing in adds who smoke bomb in the fight once you weaken the initial encounter enough. It happens in practically every major encounter. Nintendo finally has a way to officially listen to it's music (only a few titles atm, more will probably be added), and shockingly it doesn't suck. In fact, it's actually great and shows how shit YouTube Music and Spotify are.

The app is snappy, well designed, and has a ton of great features.

• You can hide games from the entire app if you want to avoid spoilers.

• Each track has it's own picture making it easier to identify specific tracks.

• The albums are intelligently ordered based on when they show up in the game. Credits at the end, title screen at the beginning, and such.

• When you select a game, it shows you related games (Mario Odyssey page suggests other Mario games for example)

• Each game page also has sub pages for music, for example the FZero page has one for the hard route mission tracks only and the Pokémon one has a page for all the Battle! themes. Pretty cool feature.

• You don't just have to show songs by game, you can also search by platform or character. For example the Bowser page lists all the songs that are tied to him (boss themese and castle themes) across all games.

• Games you have played on your Switch are at the top, so if you just played a game and want to check out the OST it's right there.

On top of those exclusive features, the app has a bunch of QoL that you wouldn't expect Nintendo to include. Repeat tracks, shuffle, shareable playlists, thoughtfully picked recommendation playlists, background play, auto extension (YouTube channels that just extend Nintendo music btfo), and total playtime for playlists.

Honestly this is probably my favorite music app, which is crazy considering Nintendo usually is r-slurred with apps and the like.
