The frick are you using a sous vide machine for?
McDonalds burgers are so thin that you could just fill a pot with hot water from the sink and it'd be to temperature in probably like 5 minutes.

WRONG
i know this because i tried to sous vide at 135f for 20 minutes and it was bone cold in the meats. i had to raise it to 165f

Have you tried using some sort of foil Mylar vacuum sealing packaging? I like to backpack and things like dehydrated ground beef will still go bad in normal plastic vacuum sealing material since oxygen leaks through. The Mylar packaging needs considerably higher temps to seal right, so normal sealers don't often cut it.

I feel like this could be improved. When there's some kind of sale, order like 20 burgers with all the buns on the side. Vacuum seal all the burgers, then freeze the buns and vacuum seal them once they're fully frozen (to avoid deformation). To serve, thaw a bun overnight (still in the bag to keep it from oxidizing), then sous vide your patty and reassemble the burger. The final product would probably be indistinguishable from a fresh burger from McD's
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
this is definitely the way. id remove the buns to thaw tho. the game is just mostly avoiding freezer burn.
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.

you gotta seal the buns for long storage. i bought this burger like a week ago. and its sittin in the freezer so its gotta thaw out.

i'll probably give it a try if i get some fried chicken (and theres left overs). i'm experimenting with anything i can think of that theres left overs of. so far i have:
cooked steak (normie tier)
2 sushi rolls (sus)
curry and rice [sep sealed bags] (sealing rice is sus)
i'll post trip reports for every experiment

they'd get all stale unless you were actively checking to see when they fully thawed, though. Condensation might also ruin them
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
they wont take long enough to thaw where they'll get stale, it'd probably only take like an hour or so room temp. cover with a towel and that'll probably be fine for condensation.
i'll try next time and we'll see
