it was funny and all the dunks on movie tropes were good. It's abuse of the MCU plotshit was good from a newnerd marvelshit standpoint, and it's use of oldnerd shit from all the broken marvel movies over like 20-30 years was even better and great for oldstrags nostalgia while being completely self aware.
Despite being a soyjak wetdream for nerdshit in general, it really was an entertaining watch. I'm glad sugar bear Peter got more screen time but I'm honestly sad there wasn't more Pajeet sidekick or T.J. Miller, but given the density of lore they were trying to juggle I don't fault them.
Mr. Darcy Matthew Macfadyen was one of the main characters and does a good job of being an unapologetic douche bag which reminds me I need to finish succession.
I completely abstained from reading anything about it whatsoever so all the cameos and stuff were a total surprise and unironically great.

Man, what a bad film.
The tone was completely off. Scifi comedy is a risky genre but works sometimes. This one, idk how to call it, like failed goofy millennial humour? It wasn't funny at all. And it wasn't just me either, in a cinema about 50% full I heard literally not a single laugh through the entire film.
Mickey 17 was a boring character. A low IQ guy with no redeeming features.
I couldn't stop thinking of this scene. If your character is r-slurred you need to at least make him good at something. Otherwise he's just annoying and stupid and that's it.
None of the relationships felt real and none were developed at all. Why is Mickey friends with Timo? What history do they have? We're shown one brief flashback and that's all.
Why would Nasha and Mickey ever be together? They look at each other once and then it just cuts to an excessively long scene of them fricking. She's into the idiot but we're given absolutely no reason why.
The villain was some dumb Trump impersonation and I'm so fricking tired of hearing people do that. Yes Trump is an r-slur and I don't caaaaare, I don't want to join the rage-along.
The world building was decent (besides the aliens, they were stupid CGI woodlouses) and was probably the best part of the film, though spoilt a bit by the goofy tone.
Whenever I see something bad I like to think to myself how I'd fix it and make it into a good film. With this one though I really don't know, you'd have to change almost everything. First of all maybe make it just a bit edgier, that would make it funnier too if you're gonna have chopping-off-body-parts kind of humour. Then delete all the aliens, or at most have them as some kind of planet background scenery. Maybe make the printing process so that it only succeeds with a minority of people, and centre the film around one freak who manages to print out a dozen of himself. Then the different personalities of the different clones could have been an interesting plot, maybe each one emphasising a certain part of his base personality or something like that.
