Factorio is coming to Nintendo Switch™ | Factorio
For the past one and a half years I've been working on a secret Factorio project. Today we are finally revealing it.
As announced during Nintendo Direct, Factorio is coming to Nintendo Switch! It's already in the final stages and the global release date is set for 28th October 2022.
Here is what to expect:
All of the game's content will be available. The gameplay is not simplified and there are no artificial limits.
There will be no mod support.
Multiplayer will be available, including playing cross-platform. Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play, but not required for LAN games.
Save files are compatible between all platforms. There will be no save transfer feature at launch, but you can transfer your saves using multiplayer.
Performance
One of the first questions you might ask is how does the game perform. We worked on many optimizations to make sure the game performs as well as possible. You should expect 30-60 FPS (both in TV mode and handheld mode). As for UPS, the average player should be able to go through all of the content and launch a rocket, while staying at 60 UPS. But don't expect to be able to build mega-bases without UPS starting to drop, sometimes significantly.
Can you really play Factorio with controllers?
Factorio was developed for 10 years with only keyboard and mouse in mind, so making sure the game is fully playable with controllers was no easy task. Playing with a controller is slightly slower, and will take some getting used to (just as it does when playing with keyboard and mouse for the first time). After becoming familiar with it, I find it very comfortable. I recommend everyone to play through the first levels of our tutorial campaign, as it's a great way to get acquainted with playing Factorio with a controller.
What about Steam Deck and PC controller support?
I actually started working on the port for Nintendo Switch before the Steam Deck was even announced, so first I will finish what I started. Currently the controller support is optimized for and built around the Nintendo Switch system, the Joy-Con™ controllers, and their features. There's still more work to be done for generic controller support, such as dealing with the many controller types, handling mods, ability to switch between "keyboard and mouse" and "controller" modes, etc. Also I want to make it a priority to focus on the initial feedback coming from Nintendo Switch players, to make sure any bigger issues are ironed out quickly. So generic controller support is planned, just that like most things, it will take some time.
Please help with translations
The standard of quality for releasing on Nintendo Switch is high, so shipping with incomplete translations (like we usually do) is not an option. For this reason the game will only include complete and good quality translations. On around the 26th of September I will add the final localization for the release, so I ask our community translators to please make sure your language is 100% translated on Crowdin if you want it to be included in the release for Nintendo Switch. As many texts were added or changed, I will be looking at Crowdin issues the following days, to help translators. Translations for Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese are especially important. Big thanks to our community translators who help make the game more accessible.
The development journey
In next week's Friday Facts, I plan on going into more details about the long development journey, so stay tuned for that.

So I don't really play video games too much these days, but I am still a ENORMOUS Zelda fan. Infact I am such a enormous Zelda fan that I would like to run the subreddit for the breath of the wild sequel as to ensure powermods don't ruin it. As you also know there is a Nintendo direct tomorrow but because I work a real man's job I can't watch it live. So your task is to watch it, and if they reveal the name, and make a subreddit with the same name. You must follow the format of /r/Breath_of_the_Wild so underscore any spaces and only capitalize the main words. Do this, and then transfer ownership to me and the 5k is your my friend. I maybe will even throw in a little extra for a job well done.

My first srd post.
The post in question. https://old.reddit.com/r/Falcom/comments/x8dw94/this_needs_to_stop/
The drama surrounds the entire subreddit and not just one specific post.
Here’s the context
The video game publisher NISA sent a cease and desist on a fan translation called Zero Field on an unreleased game. The fan base was extemely upset and threatened to boycott the publisher, and review bomb their next game Trails from Zero which will release September 27.
https://old.reddit.com/r/Falcom/comments/x3kdos/zerofield_team_confirm_nisa_have_requested_they/
There were also reports of 4 Chan and Twitter threatening to attack NISA. They also organized an attack on their scheduled stream on September 7 and even posted personal information on the employees and there were also reports of death threats sent to them. There were several threads posted in that sub with evidence but they ended up removed by the mods. I’ll locate deleted threads in the archives.
If you look at the stickied post in that thread, you will see the reason why this thread was removed because at that point 4chan was already organizing an attack, according to said post.
https://www.reveddit.com/v/Falcom/comments/x4tlt6/the_absolute_state_of_some_fans_on_4chan_brace/
Due to restrictions and moderation on their twitch stream, their raid was for the most part unsuccessful. Their twitch raid required accounts to have a phone verification, and a following of 30 minutes. Their stream autofilters words like hajimari, Kuro and reverie, and also Zero Field, the name of the fan translation group. Any one who says any of the filtered words would find their chat in the spam filter and instantly banned from the stream.
However, their YouTube stream remains unmoderated. There were reports from posters and the original post below saying that users were doxxing employees on stream and threatening to doxx users who buy the game.
This led to one user making a thread calling for the community to stop the doxxing and death threats of the employees. The thread in question is here.

Velma is the smartest and most put-together member of the Scooby-Doo gang. And while she can’t see a thing without her glasses, she’s absolutely the most likely member of the squad to solve any given mystery. However, in MultiVersus, the Super Smash Bros.-like fighting game filled with Warner Bros. characters, she’s a total narc — or, rather, she was.
One of the strangest aspects of Velma’s character in MultiVersus was her ability to summon the fuzz after solving a mystery (which simply involved collecting clues around the arena). A police car would then roll up on Velma’s victim, throw them in back seat, and attempt to drive them off the stage. Is that a funny idea in concept? Of course it is. Is it funny in practice to watch a cop car roll up and start wreaking havoc in the year 2022 in a game with Black characters, including real-world people like LeBron James? Not so much.
In America, police distrust is at an all-time high, with some cops finally facing punishments for criminal actions committed on duty, and many more getting away with obvious abuses of power because they wear the badge. It’s clear now to many Americans — although this has long been obvious to marginalized and oppressed folks in this country — that the police are not the “good guys” they are depicted as in shows like Scooby-Doo.
It’s with that slow but steady cultural shift in mind that some MultiVersus players winced at the choice to have Velma call the cops — a small group of fans even started an online petition to remove the cops from Velma’s ability, and replace it with the Mystery Machine. And that’s exactly what Player First Games did.
In Thursday's patch, the notes included this bit about Velma’s passive ability: “Instead of calling the police, Velma now solves the mystery and calls the Mystery Inc. gang and the Mystery Machine to take the bad guys away.”
This change may seem small, but it takes away some gloom from an otherwise silly ability while still keeping its charm. Instead of the heat rolling in to do god-knows-what to Jake the Dog, LeBron James, or Steven Universe, Fred and Daphne will simply run them over in their hippie van. Same result, committed by fun cartoon characters instead of armed state employees.
As the petition calls out, the police aren’t necessary to MultiVersus’ gameplay or even the in-game spectacle of a character calling in a whole-butt car to do their bidding. So it’s nice to see Player First Games work to improve an issue that inadvertently sends the wrong message to players and makes a group of fans uncomfortable while playing an otherwise silly cartoon fighting game.

And my personal favorite, OP gets told to touch grass after editing out a white removal mod to avoid getting his post removed for racism

This is the Chungus 2, a fully working PC built inside Minecraft---so you can play Minecraft while you play Minecraft. But that's not all it does, oh no.
Also known as the Computational Humongous Unconventional Number and Graphics Unit, this machine is the lowest spec thing I think I've ever written about. But hats off to project lead Sammyuri and team for managing to push Minecraft redstone crafting to new heights.
Technically someone did create a Minecraft-alike in Minecraft(opens in new tab) with redstone back in 2012. And while that's darn impressive, it was only a 2D version of the game. This one plays it in 3D.
Essentially what we're looking at here is a virtual machine, only these utter ballers painstakingly crafted the components using the cowtools Minecraft has to offer---along with a healthy helping of code---and put them together in-game.
"Built over a period of many many months, with a significant amount of planning and dedication," the video says in a rather swift wall-of-text splash screen.
It then goes on to detail an important disclaimer:
"Some viewers, for example those used to videos of simpler farms and piston doors, may not be able to comprehend the scale of this build and may suffer adverse affects including but not limited to having their minds blown in spectacular fashion."
Honestly, it is pretty mind-blowing watching all the components chugging along in real time, so we thought we'd bring you the specs so you can see what they managed to scrape together using Minecraft materials alone.
The CPU runs at 1Hz, and the AMOGUS (Absurdly Massive Operator of Graphics) graphics processor packs just 6KB of graphics memory. It's sure as heck not about to win a place in our best gaming PC(opens in new tab) guide, though I'm very tempted to sneak it in there when my boss isn't looking.
The 96 x 64p resolution is garbage by modern standards, and the graphics are rendered in only two colours: brown, and brown. But what did I expect? The main thing is that it works. You can craft, smelt, take fall damage, and all that good Minecraft stuff, even if you do need to be superhuman to tell what half the things on the screen are.
Of course one of the top comments is "Can it play Doom?" And although there's no evidence of that, I can tell you it runs Tetris, Snake, Conways Game of Life, and even renders Mandlebrot sets.
Sammyuri cites Mumbo Jumbo specifically "for inspiring me to begin my redstone journey back in 2013." From there they learned computer architecture and how to build it in Minecraft from the ORE Minecraft server(opens in new tab) community, and they encourage anyone looking to learn the trade to head over and check it out.
So here's a nod to Sammyuri, Uwerta, StackDoubleFlow for putting the Chungus together, and to Dimdom10 for running the server and helping to render some of their work. May they be forever immortalised as the bringers of Minecraftception, even if the /r/Minecraft mods team decided to remove their post(opens in new tab) and lock the comments section.

By this point, if you've heard of Donkey Kong, then you've also probably heard of Billy Mitchell. The former 'King of Kong' held multiple world records in arcade games such as Pac-Man and the aforementioned, but many have since been called into question, with some accusing him of playing via Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. Mitchell denies the allegations and has even taken action against Guinness World Records supplier Twin Galaxies.
Now, due to those allegations, Mitchell is claiming that his doctor of 30 years is refusing to see him because he believes he's a cheat. In a new testimony shared on Perfect Pac-Man, this rather unusual claim states:
After Twin Galaxies’ defamatory statements of April 12, 2018, one of Responding Party’s doctors, Dr. Stanley Skopit, refused to see Responding Party after Responding Party appeared for an annual examination. When Responding Party Arrived for his examination, the assistant to Dr. Skopit informed Mitchell that Dr. Skopit would not see him... the assistant informed Responding Party that Dr. Skopit read the allegations from Twin Galaxies.
Mitchell states that the stress of the case has caused him to suffer from a hernia and atrial fibrillation. This testimony comes as part of the deposition process, as he has had to respond to requests for admission and production.

G*mers are truly low iq group. By making this game remaster a success they send a clear sing they are ready for bigger dildo and now more devs will do shit like this.
The fact devs call that game remake just show how confident they are gaymers are cretins. Like resident evil 2 on ps4 is remake, ff7 r is remake even Yakuza kiwami is remake but last of us part 1 is just transferring all assets to new engine. Gayming and internet should had never been mainstream
