ESA is about to end, and while it was better than GDQ, it still wasn’t as good as it could have been. Lots of long, shitty games in US timeslots. 100% Orange Juice started a seasonal event and I just do not care enough to play it for the like 2 new drops.
Atomic heart seems to look decent though, I didn't know it was open world. Maybe I’ll get it on sale when I’m in the mood some time.
Does anyone care about the Dota Lima Major?

My recommends
Rogue Legacy 2 - 40% discount, 15 bucks/euro, one of the best platformers around. Yes, it's kind of proceduraly generated. Yes, it's a roguelite. Yes, cope seethe and dilate.
Caveblazers - less than a dollar/euro. Pretty good action platformer, for its price probably the best deal on steam rn. Another proc gen roguelite, please let everyone know how much you dislike these.
Neon White - 40% discount, price is under 15 bucks/euro. Fps/puzzle/race game. Neat.
Ori and the will of the wisps - under 10 bucks/euro. The other best platformer around.

Been playing Crying Suns. This game feels like If FTL: Faster Than Light had listened to too much MCR in high school. It’s good, but you can see it’s maybe too inspired by other things, even if it’s fun. Also GDQ has been pretty bad. A few decent runs.

TLDR : Only 4chuds care about the game, it's fricking boring, barely 5 hours long, and the ending doesn't exist

I just finished yesterday Gotham knight and the game is very surprising bad like the dev had no idea what they are doing like the game has a skill that get stronger the more players you play together and you can play max with one other player and tons of unused game play mech like shooting from bike is giga pointless. At one point the game looked promising like Harley Queen has 3 outfit in the game so I thought mb if they put so much effort in 1 character game will get good? Also it’s pointless to replay the game as other characters since npc will have same dialogue with you even though different hero says different things like I watched same cutscene 4 time where Alfred says to each hero master bane planed this than the hero say something than Alfred says now it’s your home jfl.
Put now I am playing the new Pokémon game and wow the costumization is insane but it kinda feel strange you can do full make up on 10 year old kid from eyes leach, eyes brown to lipstick. Game also kinda feel fresh comparing to the old game so it like first time something new after that X Y pokemon it also has Marsey green:
And what you been playing neighbors ?

Hi everyone,
— Serenity Forge (@SerenityForge) July 18, 2023
As we approach the launch of LISA: Definitive, we want to address the small changes that you may see in some versions of the game. Check out the joint note from Dingaling and Serenity Forge, here:https://t.co/klem1qxXhO
Context:
Lisa is an earthbound inspired indie game about a man who raised the last girl on earth. She gets kidnapped and sets out on a journey to rescue her.
It is a very mature game full of dark themes:
(I swear it's one of the good ones, this game is way fricking better then Undertale and Omori, it's Fist of the North Star meets Child of Man)
Drama:
As this is an indie game and not a well connected title, what Sony is willing to excuse from it is far more limited. So they are removing the ultraviolence right?

Nope... it's the drug references!

If you haven't been paying attention to one Ken Levine, he's undergone a quiet chuddening over the years as he became an enlightened centrist type and started liking the tweets of Quillette writers on twitter, joining Razib Khan rooms on Clubhouse, and going on Colin Moriarty's vidya podcast. We saw a trailer for his new game at last night's PlayStation State of Play:
The keen investigators at ResetEra suspect something is up:
Look forward to more seethe should this game ever actually release

I love the Indian Fallout 3 memes so much.
Played some Civ6, it's a lot better than I expected but I really dislike how the expansions are broken into separate game modes and can't be combined. The handling of districts and wonder taking up tiles is very interesting and over all I think the city management is better than 5 due to having to make either/or decisions instead of being able to get everything without a downside. Haven't played too much so can't give a super deep opinion.
Beat House of the Dead Remake, it was fun, but would never recommend buying it since it's like 30 minutes long. Fun though.
Slowly making my way through Quake.
Also finished Milk Inside a Bag of Milk, “nice” little visual novel. I can see why the people who recommended me it enjoyed the game. Will play Milk Outside a Bag of Milk soon.

UPDATE 3: Entries submissions close today in about 8 hours so this is your last chance to participate
UPDATE 2: contest ends tomorrow
UPDATE: reminder that the contest ends on Tuesday! I'll pin this again the day before the deadline as a last reminder
Inspired by this picture and seeing dramatards always seem very excited about sharing their cute pets with everyone I figured this would be a nice/fun activity
[RULES]
1. It has to be your pet
2. No AI, it would be too easy
3. You have to use an actual videogame screenshot taken by yourself or you can also google screenshots to use BUT it must be from the gameplay, not from cutscenes or cinematic trailers EDIT: by popular demand, cutscenes are allowed now!
5. If you're not good with Photoshop, you can commission/get another dramatard to do it
6. You can make as many entries as you want but only one can be on the voting poll
The winner will be decided by vote so if you have multiple entries you have to pick one to be used in the poll
[PRIZES]
1st Place: 5000 DC
2nd Place: 3000 DC
3rd Place: 2000 DC
Might increase the prizes if there's a lot of interest
DEADLINE: The contest will end on Tuesday, July 4
PLEASE REPLY HERE WITH YOUR ENTRY: https://rdrama.net/h/vidya/post/182848/contest-photoshop-your-pet-as-a/4455526#context
Not sure if those rules are alright, feel free to suggest how to improve or make the contest more fun
Here are some answers to questions you might have
Yes
For the sake of fairness I think it's better if only one of the owners is allowed to participate with that pet
As long as the pet is yours and the edit was done by you (or someone you commissioned/asked to edit for you) you can google screenshots of a game and use them, even if it's a game you don't play

Reverse Collapse, (more like prolapse amirite?), is the latest in the new trend of gacha game devs making actual games with their overstuffed coffers filled with ill gotten gambling gold (where the prize is JPGs and not money)
The devs of this game made one called girls frontline which decided to make a fricking sequel to reset the process and bleed their paypiggies again
But that is not the subject of todays discussion, it's their current real entry getting reviewbombed.
Prolapse : The Bakery is essentially something like Fireaxis Xcom/Advance Wars/Fire Emblem, it seems solid enough for what it is. However, Chinese are mad!
One may wonder where this nonsense comes from? Fortunately, we have some context!
A character who is Chinese was given the BWC For you non virgins, what this means is GFL was known as a game without real male characters (to better let lonely scrotes insert into the gacha and pretend they had a harem of robotic slave gun girls) while this game added a male main character with an actual face and personality.
In fact, there are SEVERAL male characters now This is considered SUPER threatening to the Chinese players of the game.
Chinaman g*mers ask for help after their brave efforts in defeating the menace known as Sweet Baby Inc
But g*mers aren't having it...
In closing:
@BWC Your expertise is required here
!gacha Any context you lovely lads can provide would also be appreciated.

One of the best games of the last decade (with one of the more disappointing sequels of this decade) got its sequel half-announced yesterday, with the publisher stating it will be a "multiplayer-focused live-service game." Holy yikes, for a game that had an expansion-turned-offshoot that sucked in part due to it removing the sense of being alone exploring an alien world, this is awful news, right? Twitter and the game's subreddit agree, because that's the correct take.
A lot of g*mer seethe here, but by and large can be summed up by this pic
Subreddit wasn't have much fun either. I think they deleted a lot of the posts after the devs Corrected the Record™️, so a little hard to find threads but there's still a few up. There is a little coping, too, but it seems most people are unsurprised that the devs continue to misunderstand why their game was good in the first place.
Shout out to this based chad setting coping subnutters right.
Developer: We're making our next game use a shitty model that prioritizes money over fun and engaging content.
Sane people: We're not going to buy your game
Other people: Come on guys, just because every other GAAS game is terrible doesn't mean that this one will be.
Major "communism will work THIS time" vibes.
Finally, the devs speak out and clarify that nooo child, the game will not have a battlepass, it will simply have updates over time :^). They even go as far as to comment and lock threads that were pooping on the publisher statement.
Correct take from random dude (option 1 is probably most correct, with a bit of option 2).
No one has ever used that definition of GaaS until now. GaaS as a term comes from SaaS, which is built entirely around recurring revenue and subscriptions. Why would they use that to represent just doing typical patches and updates if there weren't ideas for recurring revenue? There are three possibilities in my mind:
1 The investor relations team used GaaS because it's popular right now and makes investors happy, but they aren't actually implementing any GaaS aspects
2 The playerbase is being duped
3 They were planning to go GaaS and aren't now because we all freaked out
Sadly, it seems most people take this to assume everything is copacetic and in fact we should all pretend Below Zero wasn't one of the most bland games of 2021, as seen in the [quote tweets of the IGN correction post.] (https://twitter.com/IGN/status/1755674941830152302/retweets/with_comments)
Not really that dramatic after the fact, but I guess it's nice the game got announced, sort of.
