Visited Vietnam during the lunar new year and spent around $750 on lucky money . At first I was grumpy that I was expected to spend so much on people I don't know, but it made everyone so happy to get it. I started giving out notes to random people who still had to work during the holiday and felt like some rich philanthropist helping the working class. Next time I'll bring a ton and larp as saint helping the poor.

I was also wearing one of these for the festival, it's called an ao dai. People were staring at me a lot and talking about me behind my back. I don't know much vietnamese but I know the word for 'handsome man' . My wife said I can't live in vietnam because my ego will get too big. She is correct.

The festival in downtown Saigon was very pretty

All the districts of Saigon built different displays for the festival. I'm not sure if there was a competition, but I'm sure there was some way of voting for the best display. Apparently last year was even more impressive since everyone's favorite year is the year of the dragon.

This was the first year that fireworks were legal, so everyone went out and bought some. We were on the 30th floor looking towards the landmark building in the city center for "the display" but when the time came, everyone in the city lit off their own fireworks and created the biggest fireworks display I've ever seen, completely unplanned. It was absolutely incredible. There were fireworks across the horizon in all directions. We tried to take a video but it came out crap, so I had to look one up online:

Anyways, Saigon has some very beautiful parts, but when you travel between them you'll see the poor areas, where people are living in mud huts and thatch roofs. There's also the sprawling slums of recycled and rusty corrugated steel roofs. It's still a very pleasant place to visit for tourists. It's also very cheap to live in the nice areas, and pretty much everyone below the age of 40 speaks okay english, and everyone below 30 speaks good english.

I had a great time. It was fun hanging out with the in-laws and if you're a foreigner (white) then you always get amazing service everywhere you go.

Really weirds me out that no matter who you play as, Spices and Sugar etc. are considered exotic.

Even if you play as a civ that historically would start near sugar or spice, for example Indonesia, you are forced to experience the world as if that were just not true. What happened to historically accurate civ start biases?

Makes the whole experience feel like you are a western colonist who has put on the costume of another culture.

The choice to make distant lands mechanics allow other civs to start there but not human players makes the whole experience lopsided and feels way less like you are on even footing with other civs in an open world map, and more like you as a human have a special role in this world of AIs who get special spawns and are entirely excluded from certain win conditions.

Really bad game design

I don't know who else to tell about this but I feel the need to tell someone. For reference I'm a 25 year old guy who hasn't shit himself since he was a kid. Anyway I got up this morning as usual, left the house to go to work and as I was approaching the train I felt the sudden urge to shit. I searched around for a cafe or something with a bathroom I could use but couldn't find anything. It happened in that moment of complete defeat. For a split second I thought I was farting, but no. Naturally I ran home as fast as I could, trying to hold my pants up as much as I could for fear of the shit (diarrhea) dripping further down my legs, and washed up, washed as much off of my butt, pants, thermal underwear, underwear and sweatpants I was wearing under my regular pants to protect myself from this horrible NYC cold. I texted my boss saying I "had a problem at home" and was gonna be about 45 min late. I put all my dirty clothes in a trash bag and will do laundry when I get home tonight.

I kinda need help coming up with an excuse for being late. I don't really know what to say and I do not want to tell them what actually happened.

I bought gamepass for Indiana Jones (8/10, it's actually pretty solid) and figured I'd give this slop a shot.

After finishing up the tutorial I got my main man Garrus (now a fish instead of a bird), we went and fought a bear in a boss battle Next I went back into town, only to get shot and brought back to life.

I was under leveled so I decided to start doing some side quests to get money and resources. Bounty hunting was decent, but I also helped some whores get abortions which Garrus loved. Somewhere in there I did an actually good quest involving an immortal godlike trying to animate a statue with souls. Easily the highlight of my time with the game and I'm fairly certain this is by far the best quest in the game.

After that I was able to upgrade my gear and get back on the main quest, which led to a cute twink dwarf deciding to tag along (certainly wasn't my choice), and eventually I found my assassin and decided to turn him in so he could be tortured instead of lynching him (cute twink dwarf really didn't like that).

Finally I quit when in the next zone, I went into a random house, and learned that they'd made Garrus into a literal gay fish. I exited the house, realized I had two cute twinks following me around that I could not dismiss or kill, and uninstalled the game.

Combat is pretty good, definitely feels better to play than it looked in previews. The writing is more reddit than even outer worlds but this is still easily a much better game than that garbage because of the aforementioned combat.

For those who don't know @BussyBoy is a semi famous minecraft youtuber. Recently he came under fire for making fun of a minecraft youtuber who died from cancer and everything has been going downhill for him since then. Just recently a Twitter thread dropped trying to expose his actions on groomercord which I've posted above.
