Mourinho locks down Roma: top secret training sessions
ROME - A long time has passed since the first Roman dinner in which he was paparazzi: José Mourinho chose a historic place in Parioli, the Hungaria café. At the time, he could not have known that his career as a Roma coach would start from Piazza Hungary and end in Hungary, where he can enter football history as the most successful coach in the history of UEFA tournaments by detaching Giovanni Trapattoni. Being fond of records but above all of titles, which would become 27, Mourinho aims to confirm his ravenous series in the finals in Budapest: excluding the super cups he won 5 out of 5, including last year's Conference in Tirana.
No prying eyes in Trigoria
In order to reach his goal, in order to leave no stone unturned, he has in the meantime kept all extraneous eyes away from the training fields. No one apart from the technical and medical staff is allowed to look out to observe Dybala's progress , the tests on set pieces, the defensive schemes. It's been like this since yesterday, it was like this even before the final against Feyenoord. If nothing else, a little superstition doesn't hurt. And it is the same principle that inspired the press blackout ordered on Saturday evening, after the defeat in Florence which Mourinho did not like beyond the relative impact on the insignificant table and a disappointing championship.
Budapest, last bench of the season
Roma didn't like Ayroldi's refereeing, which was also contested by Fiorentina, for the choice to validate Jovic's 1-1 goal after a suspicious contact between Mandragora and Missori. But Mourinho had already been booked a few moments before, for a moment of annoyance that will cost him the last league match against Spezia. Next Sunday, regardless of the result in the final against Sevilla, he won't be able to go on the bench and therefore say goodbye to the Olimpico before leaving for the holidays. The fans naturally hope to see him again in August, when Serie A resumes. But will that really be the case?
Mourinho, the future is in doubt
Mourinho has suspended all assessments. Right now, as he said at the press conference, he's really only thinking about the final. And we can go too far in telling you that today, two days before the most eagerly awaited event, he doesn't have a leading team ready to sign him. PSG level club to be clear. The feeling is that the Friedkins are waiting to understand if Roma will play in the Champions League, a hypothesis now possible only with the conquest of the Euroleague in Budapest, to then present himself to Mourinho with the proposal to renew the contract. A question of guaranteed income, which serves to counter the limitations imposed by financial fair play. On the other hand Mourinho, precisely in the face of another international triumph, could attract the attention of the world giants and therefore decide to leave, also because he is aware of having completed a historic double: Roma before him had only played two finals in the UEFA competitions, the last of which in 1991. With Mourinho, in two years, the dowry was doubled.
Rome, all in one night
In any case, the game seems open, at least as much as Monchi's match against Seville, which in turn boasts an immaculate roster in the Europa League finals (six wins out of six). Mourinho wants to play it to the maximum of his possibilities and for this reason he has neglected the championship, fueling the regrets in Tiago Pinto's head: without ever winning in the last 7 days it was impossible to get to the Champions League via the domestic route, which also seemed quite comfortable . In Budapest we will understand if it was worth it.

I’m totally devastated. There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum. I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic… pic.twitter.com/qZmA9WsueM

Peekaboo is style famously used by Tyson, the shortest modern heavyweight fighter who used this style because of his short arms. This style also makes the user stand shorter since you need to bend to cover your full body. Tyson used this style because he needs to rush towards taller opponents and often in progress was hit so this defensive style helped him migrate the damage.
Why this stand is bad for talker guys:
it reduce the effectiveness of jab and cross
it makes back steeping harder and for tall guys a simple back steep can put them out of range of shorter guys
it makes the taller guy stand shorter so reducing his height advantages
it obscures view, a taller guy when he stands on regular stand he can see more oncoming punches and has more cowtools to evade them.
Peekaboo is in general a shit style because any decent tall guy can frick the shorter user that use this style and same happened with Mike Tyson, he meet a decent tall fighter and it was over for him.
Man now I wish I was in the ring with @dipfrick

@X (formerly chiobu) @AverageBen10Enjoyer !football discuss. Too bad it had to come with the sacrifice of Leicester likely getting relegated
Some of you need to stop whinging about Newcastle saying you don’t get how they have CL etc.
They got more points than us over 38 games and conceded like 11 fewer than us. That’s why. They do deserve it

I literally think I hate Newcastle fans more than city fans. At least city have something to shout about even if it is financially doped, Newcastle have always been a shite small club who cry and winge. [-6]

Why do we hate Newcastle again? Man utd were always the target, and frankly the more likely since Newcastle beat Brighton.
There's still hope Chelsea could remember who they are at old Trafford and mitrovic is back for fulham.
But frick it, congrats Newcastle it's about darn time tbh [-14]

I am copy pasting this on every post about Valencia
As a Valencia fan, I just want to say that what the certain groups of ultras are doing its totally despicable and horrible. I feel really bad for Vinicius as he is a very talented player with a bright future. However, I think is not fair to call the 40k people racist because the 200 Nazi ultras are chanting racist things. There is this group of Nazi ultras called Ultra Yomus, and they are the Nazi ultras chanting racists things like "mono". Please don't call all Valencianistas racists as I was very disgusted when I heard these chants and I am sure than many others feel the same way. [-28]

After Brittney Griner played in her first WNBA game last night since coming home from prison in Russia, Phoenix Mercury head coach Vanessa Nygaard was angry Los Angeles didn’t sellout the arena for her return:

Gee, I wonder why nobody went to yet another WNBA game
Anyway, in real sports news, the Nuggies went up 3 games to 0 against LeBron and the Gaykers
