Since @Losercel is too busy being a christcuck he's kindly asked me to keep the thread going this week
So WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING?!
You do play video games right?
I've been sick recently so all I've recently played are Warhammer 3 Total War modded on Legandary difficulty. Using the immortal empires expanded mod
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3007996493
I use this as a stage for a number of faction mods and mechanics tweaks to play test and mess around in.
Currently still in a campaign rn nearing the end soon.
I recommend SCM's mods. There's a mod pack for 17 new factions that are quite niche
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3113531421
Anyway that's all from me.
Share your new games and recommendations.

They might let you create a 6'7" blue-haired half-orc in a type-4 male body who identifies as a woman with a type-C peepee, but they also let you kick a squirrel against a tree and smash its guts out too conquer its foraging territory.

Very funny thread. The gamedev sub gets more pathetic by the week. If you don't know there are two review thresholds on Steam that matter to amateur devs. The first is to get to ten reviews, because then that section of your page will have a thumbs-up on it rather than nothing. It's a bad look to have less than ten reviews so many devs will just have friends or family members review the game at launch. Even with proper marketing this is a useful strategy because it means early wayward visits will see the review rating sooner. The second threshold is at 50 reviews, as this seems to be when the Steam algorithm gives actual attention to your project.
Which is met with -
1. Being over 35 makes having ten friends very difficult:
2. Expecting your friends and family to give you a thumbs-up is undignified:
3. It's futile because people landing on a review-less page with no engagement are just as likely to be hooked as a well-reviewed game:
4. Only the truest of heart would give you a thumbs-up:
There's also this very funny slap fight about how steam will remove your project if it thinks you may have dared to ask friends and family to give you a like:
Sane person states that while bots and may be responsible for these likes the vast majority are from associates:
There's a redditor trying to erm acktually:
But this is just out of touch rambling. In the context of meeting thresholds reviews absolutely do matter. In the context of positive ratio reviews absolutely do matter, which he even says in the comment. This is just pretentious nothing. I also find it hilarious that multiple people in the thread are morally grandstanding about how they'd never dare to use fake reviews. You are selling a product. Having 50+ reviews will objectively improve sales and perception of your product. There is no ethical dilemma here.
There's more but I don't like long posts.
I have a very small family, if I throw in "family friends" then those alone could get me over ten reviews. I barely interact with my coworkers, I could likely get ten reviews from them and their kids. I have friends. I could get more than ten reviews from them.
And of course that all assumes I'd actually be asking them to review it. I haven't asked anyone for a single review but I've got a waitlist of 50+ associates wanting to buy and review what I'm working on just because its a basic courtesy that normal people extend. Like how you'd go watch your friends' amateur softball games on the weekend.

Did you know that in Nintendo's original Mario Party for the N64 if you set all the CPUs to Hard, they will cheat so you can't win? Even if you buy 4 stars, the one in last place will conveniently land on a ! space with 3 turns to go and get the All DK Stars go to Yoshi configuration. Then when you go to roll against a Baby Bowser to get a star back (this costs you 20 coins) and maybe clutch in the endgame with the bonus stars, you'll roll a 9 but he'll roll a 10.
Thanks for reading my vidya facts.

I'm talking about the Militech Chimera. Before I talk about the bugs, I have to complain about the entire sequence. Specifically how it completely violates my suspension of disbelief.
Phantom Liberty starts with you being contracted to head to the projected crash site of Space Force One, the NUSA President's vessel. The madame President is besieged by the military force of Dogtown, an independent territory in Night City that began as a stronghold for the NUSA's own attempts to take over the place.
She is the only person onboard who survives a heavy assault. Standard for fiction, whatever. I extract her (FRICK the car stealth part though), we get away for a bit before being ambushed, our netrunner contact takes control of a very conspicous giant robot in the ambush room to defend us, but then it goes rogue and chases us.
Now, here's where it gets stupid: Madame President is basically facetanking this gigantic killer robot that could flatten Adam Smasher throughout the chase sequence and survives falling down an elevator shaft, after which the boss fight begins. And she keeps facetanking it. In her presidential cyber-Hillary pantsuit.
Absurd, but I could've let it go, EXCEPT:
1. Upon reloading after my first death, I am overencumbered (carrying too much crap). This prevents sprinting, jumping, and dashing. I was not overencumbered before dying. My carry weight capacity indicates 249/250. There is zero reason for me to be affected by this debuff. I cannot consume any items to buff my carrying capacity. After dropping an item to lighten the load, I am unable to save during the boss fight, meaning every time I die I have to drop the item again to clear the debuff.
2. One time after dying the game just didn't do anything. I faded to black but Madame President is still facetanking the boss and I get no prompt/menu to reload.
3. Upon FINALLY clearing the boss (hard if you don't spec into any heavy weapons), the model completely spazzed out, like it was flickering betwen it's active state and dead state. Instead of beating it resulting in a huge feeling of relief, all I could think about was the disappointment in CD Projekt Red for fooling me with this fricking game again. It felt exactly like when I was struggling through the game the first time in 2020. I was absolutely seething that this shit was still happening and people were praising the darn thing.
Also earlier in the night I did the Johnny flashback where you try to save Alt, and I noticed a few bugs there that still weren't fixed.
I want to deepthroat Cyberpunk 2077 so hard and swallow everything it has to offer with a smile on my face, but IT JUST WON'T FRICKING LET ME.
EVERY TIME I GET INTO IT SOME BUGGY BULLSHIT RUINS EVERYTHING.
!g*mers and @longpostbot go ahead and mock me now I deserve it

Okay, fair enough if you're playing something like Persona, a turn based game, it really makes no difference, you could play that kind of game on your phone. But real time games where you have to manipulate the camera with analog sticks? How the heck can you game like that? I feel like I'm being collectively gaslit whenever I talk about a console port like Monster Hunter or Soulsbornekiro Ring games with friends and they tell me I'm insane for using mouse and keyboard and should use a controller instead. It's like if people recommended gaming on a laptop with a touchpad. What's wrong with you all?
