if you want the old internet to come back there needs to be some sort of decentralized, equal, and fair way to subscribe to a feed of new posts generated by a cryptographic identity[1]. Absent this I'd rather be spending time with my kids or reading korean webtoons or something.

This is facially the opposite of reality, Easynews is similarweb global rank 35k and YTS.mx is rank 474. Nyaa is rank 818. Even fricking TPB which is dead is around rank 2k. Any of the top ten torrent sites commands more viewers than the entire NZB/NNTP ecosystem. Usenet does, however, make more money as people pay for access.
