Ye has now made an “HH” swastika shirt, likely standing for “Hail Hitler.”

I had some recently that were cashews, almonds, pecans, pistachios and I think that's perfect. hazelnuts = too much like a fancy peanut, it's not the right venue for them. a 3% ratio of brazil nuts, what's the fricking point? they just want to be able to list a fourth thing.

OpenAI says it has found evidence that Chinese artificial intelligence start-up DeepSeek used the US company's proprietary models to train its own open-source competitor, as concerns grow over a potential breach of intellectual property.
The San-Francisco-based ChatGPT maker told the Financial Times it had seen some evidence of 'distillation', a technique used by developers to obtain better performance on smaller models by using outputs from larger, more capable models. This allows them to achieve similar results on specific tasks at a much lower cost.
OpenAI declined to comment further on details of its evidence. Its terms of service state users cannot "copy" any of its services or "use output to develop models that compete with OpenAI".

Short backstory - wife cheated on me around 1 year to 1 1/2 years ago( just kiss as for as I'm aware) with coworker who she works across Monday-Friday, they both handle almost every meeting together, obviously makes me insecure so I need some reassurance from her end. She has him blocked on her main account but recently she created a new book account which is her reading kindle books and reviewing them .He followed her and to me it's he can see her interests and give likes on the books he likes so it didn't sit right with me, first time I asked her to block him which was weeks ago her excuse was that it was a public account so anybody can follow her, the fighting went on and off for the next few weeks, last night she finally decided she'll block him and supposedly did it and I left it at that. That night something was bothering me so I checked her account and his likes were still there. I googled it and supposedly the likes disappear too when you block someone. So I ran a small test with a friend of mines and I find out the likes do disappear. When I brought it up to her as to how come his likes are still present , she lashes out and gets all defensive, I'm unsure if she told him to unfollow me or if I'm just overthinking and it was an app issue.
just kiss as for as I'm aware
Because he's kitty wiped and has no self-respect to stand up for himself.
That marriage is over, the contempt and disrespect is right there, only he doesn't see it.
it's not since the r-slur didn't break up with her
When your wife calls you bro it's done done. Sorry bro.
BRO
Bro, she cheated and she's making you apologize.
Find your balls.
Find your balls and win her back.
Win a cheating slut back that clearly gives no frick about you? 10000/10 idea
Yes, win the MOTHER OF YOUR CHILD back.
This "cheating slut" never actually PIV cheated calm your tits you angry incel.
Yeah, the child would be better off with just the father than a whore.
After reading the texts she is in the right and she could do so much better

I hate it I hate it I hate it. 90% of our student body relies on it to complete their work. There is near to no originality in their writing and work. We are nearing complete dependence on it from some students. AI checkers work sometimes but students just use AI then switch the words around to avoid this.
I know the upside that it has for us as a society, but we are losing creativity and gumption with every improvement. I hurt for them. I used to read beautiful student writing and didn't have to question if it was written by a program. Now I am forced into skepticism. How can we lose so much with advancement?
What are you actually losing? Oh no kids are cheating? Kids always cheated! This is the calculator argument all over again

Anthony Mackie explains what Captain America represents for him:
— DiscussingFilm (@DiscussingFilm) January 28, 2025
“Captain America represents a lot of different things & I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations. It’s about a man who keeps his word, who has honor, dignity and integrity.”

Anthony Mackie clarifies his previous comment about what Captain America means to him:

“I'm a proud American and taking on the shield of a hero like Cap is the honor of a lifetime. I have the utmost respect for those who serve and have served our country” pic.twitter.com/P6sWvlmBxa

This unfortunately still leaves me with a choice between "this was working with a hostile foreign power to influence an election and the Republicans on the committee agree with this but think it isn't so bad, WTF, that's disqualifying, and a shit ton of people on the internet are wilfully lying or r-slurred"
and, uhhh, thinking that these guys are more partisan and fear-mongering than they present as.
I think I'm really motivated by contrarianism & dislike of lots of the vibes around the democrats to want to believe Trump isn't that bad, but golly the facts seem to make that an uphill battle.
"I recognize my own woke derangement syndrome makes me want to question the facts."
I got a series of DMs from someone calling me nasty names for not having strong enough priors about RWers being r-slurred liars....
Me! That was me! I did that. It's here that you can see that the SFBA Rationalist concept of 'priors' aka 'preconceived notions' aka 'beliefs' is an agency-robbing mythos. This person can't take responsibility for their 'priors' because their 'priors' exist (in their dimwit head) as a fiction of perfect math. Reasoning through math can't be wrong, and you can't be responsible for the fact that you got something wrong if you were using math which was correctly calculated to arrive at that wrong information. Fricking morons. SFBA Rationalist Cultists are in for a rude awakening about the degree to which their mindless faith in Bayesian math derailed their ability to recognize their error.
I think I got some motivated epistemic learned helplessness going on here/ using the "nothing ever happens" heuristic that almost always works.
To be fair, these types are capable of some introspection.
Same as AI X-risk really: The arguments that this is really really bad are convincing, and taking them seriously (generally a virtue) implies I should be bombing data centres & assassinating ML researchers.
Or you could convince Scott Alexander to retract "You Are Still Calling Wolf."
But that seems a bit extreme, so I'm just gonna sit here & try not to think about it too much
lmao these people are so weak.
My US-politics information feed, now that I think about it in response to your question, is largely partisans from either side sharing terrible things the other side did, and rather too much of that is focussed on culture war stuff like trans issues.
They thought that they were spectating the culture war in their culture war threads (@TracingWoodgrains this is important) and that this gave them logical detachment from their politics, unlike those emotional leftists, and so even as they reified their politics they were in denial of the fact of that reification. Mass myopia. Fricking hilarious.
All politics is libidinal. The people trying to be unemotional about it are in a complicated form of denial about their own emotions. Which is, arguably, autism.
So I'm not sure if I'm sensibly fighting the tendency for my finger to keep wobbling back to the fire/ ignoring news that makes me feel bad & doesn't help me/ sanitising my inputs or if I'm cravenly ignoring a pressing threat because it doesn't affect me personally & thus normalising evil.
Scott Alexander normalized the evil.

i'm at my big firm corporate girlboss job and one of my coworkers said something about grad school - i missed a deadline last month, guess that's a sore spot for me - and i just started crying. tried to hold it in but all i managed were tears silently sliding down my face. had to slip out after a minute when it didn't stop.
literally been slinking around the office and hiding in the bathroom for an hour trying to stop crying. once, i thought i was in the clear, but when i put my hand on the doorknob to the meeting room it started up again.
i'm so annoyed because i'm a totally competent person otherwise. i'm not even really ""emotional"", like i stay pretty girlboss professional eloquent deadpan all the time - which makes it even worse when i turn into a blubbery red-eyed swollen-faced mess.
all my life i've been someone who cries at the drop of a hat - in elementary school, during ballet class, at parties, etc etc. one of my exes would get so mad at me when i cried and accuse me of doing it to derail whatever stupid fight we were having and make him feel bad. i kept swearing i wasn't doing it on purpose and i tried my best not to cry but he never believed me. i do try!! i hate crying. it's embarrassing and it's a waste of my time. i'm missing an important meeting right now :( i have to go collect my laptop that's been sitting there abandoned. what do i even say? nothing? say my tummy was upset?
Good lord this woman is a MESS. Someone casually mentioned grad school and it caused her to cry for the rest of the fricking day.
