honestly it's kinda mindblowing hearing stories about japanese teenagers like, ages 12~14 just. quitting school, leaving home, and just traveling the country following their favourite bands, being supported by their online friends and other people in the community, and just spending their time faking their age hanging out at bars and adult clubs that they aren't supposed to be at. cause it's like. from an american perspective the immediate reaction is "holy shit how are these kids not in serious peril" but then it's like. "how are they so lucky and so safe that they get to just do this without their lives getting ended in some way. how are they so lucky that doing this has actually improved their physical and mental health cause they're no longer stuck at home or stuck at school, and can instead find the places where they belong at and just thrive in those spaces". like kids literally stop being suicidal because they get to live their lives the way they want to
it's just mindblowing cause this kinda shit would straight up never work in the usa. and like, japan is by no means a country where crimes against minors are uncommon, and yet that kind of lifestyle is still possible for them, and it's just like, man.

A Message from Sports Interactive, An Update on Football Manager 25Sports Interactive regret to inform that, following extensive internal discussion and careful consideration with SEGA, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Football Manager 25 and shift our focus to the next release.
For the large numbers of you who pre-ordered FM25, we thank you enormously for your trust and support โ we're very sorry to have let you down. Please see the FAQs below on obtaining your refund.
Development Update: Football Manager 25
We know this will come as a huge disappointment, especially given that the release date has already moved twice, and you have been eagerly anticipating the first gameplay reveal. We can only apologise for the time it has taken to communicate this decision. Due to stakeholder compliance, including legal and financial regulations, today was the earliest date that we could issue this statement.
We have always prided ourselves on delivering the best value for money games that bring you countless hours of enjoyment, that feel worth every moment and every penny you spend. With the launch of FM25 we set out to create the biggest technical and visual advancement in the series for a generation, laying the building blocks for a new era.
Due to a variety of challenges that we've been open about to date, and many more unforeseen, we currently haven't achieved what we set out to do in enough areas of the game, despite the phenomenal efforts of our team. Each decision to delay the release was made with the aim of getting the game closer to the desired level but, as we approached critical milestones at the turn of the year, it became unmistakably clear that we would not achieve the standard required, even with the adjusted timeline.
Whilst many areas of the game have hit our targets, the overarching player experience and interface is not where we need it to be. As extensive evaluation has demonstrated, including consumer playtesting, we have clear validation for the new direction of the game and are getting close โ however, we're too far away from the standards you deserve.
We could have pressed on, released FM25 in its current state, and fixed things down the line - but that's not the right thing to do. We were also unwilling to go beyond a March release as it would be too late in the football season to expect players to then buy another game later in the year.
Through the cancellation, every effort is now focused on ensuring that our next release achieves our goal and hits the quality level we all expect. We will update you on how we are progressing with that as soon as we are able to do so.
Thank you for reading, your patience and your continued support. Our full focus now returns to creating a new era for Football Manager.

Must be pretty broken to have to cancel the game entirely.

saw a screenie of the original post from two years ago and had to see if it was real
mildly entertaining
Anyone else try to show nearby black people that they're listening to Kendrick Lamar?
Today i was on standing the train, listening to the new album and i noticed that there was a black guy standing behind me.
I wanted to show him that i'm not racist and am in fact all for black rights, so i opened spotify, put brightness on max and held my phone up (discretely) so he could see me jamming it to the ๐.
On the train ride back there was a black man sitting across from me so i did one better. I chucked on To Pimp a Butterfly, held my phone flat so he could see it and gave him a small nod.
I like to believe that i'm on the right side of history. I feel like they probably respected me for that.
Anyone else do this?
Comment section is mostly Shoah'd. Can't tell if bait or r-slurred.

I think this side of the house is probably going to be the most interesting legal fight wise (and thus drama wise). SecHHS easily has the weakest portfolio as it just exists to surface a whole bunch of independent agencies up to the cabinet.
CMS the administrator has limited authority to act as most of the centers are independent. FDA the commissioner is even more constrained as pretty much the exact way FDA functions is dictated by congress, they can make it easier or harder for new approvals to an extent but there isn't much legal wiggle room. Both are not subservient to SecHHS by law, will be curious to see what happens in practice.
NIH and CDC have been as independent by convention but don't have the legal independence the other two have, they are probably pretty fricked.
