Azur Lane is a Gacha game released in 2017 in CH and JP, 2018 for KR, and the world wide release in 2019, though open Beta was 2018. World War II ships are anime girls who have to battle against aliens (some of which are the waifu sized Sirens, and others are giant space crabs that hate the Sirens)

The game is a bullet heck whose skin (paid for pngs for your existing pngs, or even really expensive interactive gifs) have been increasingly horny. Google has announced five skins need to be removed from sale:

Shinano - Visions of Fantasy (L2D)

Napoli - Dreamy Night (L2D)

Hindenburg - Delirious Duel (L2D)

Chitose - Summer Shine

Atago - Summer March (L2D)

For those who want to see the Live2D in action here is a viewer I can't get it to work though, and the one that works is four years out of date

The last two have been in the game for a while, with Atago's being one of the earliest swimsuit and L2D skins. Naturally this upsets the coomers who pay $10 for L2D skins.

This is extremely bad news. It will undoubtedly have far-reaching consequences on how Manjuu will approach skin design from now on. So sad to see this happen, right when Manjuu finally thought they are free from the dark days of CCP censorship in 2021-2022. Only this time it's worse because it's not just CN that's affected, but EN, which so far has been the least censored version of the game.

If you see an increase in black tights and awkward poses and accessories covering the important bits for the skins that'll come later this year, then you'll know this incident is to blame for it.

Because the game is rated for 12+ lol. They really just need to push it up to 17+ like brown dust 2 and it should be fine.

Azur Lane has not been rated 12+ since 2021.

But this could be a dangerous precedent. This was only 5 skins, but what if next round it's 15 or 20? I'm lucky that I already have most of them, but I hate the implications.

if the devs are willing, they could always go the NIKKE way and develop a full PC client. stuff cant get censored if they control the whole pipeline.

This is a common sentement as the game has been really pushing the boundaries, there is now a mode where you can interact with a 3D model and you can massage Noshiro's butt at the beach.

Azur Lane needs to be released on its own PC launcher or Steam ASAP.

Yeah, this is due to a Google takedown request. USUALLY this only happens if someone reports the app directly.

If you already bought the skins, you get to keep it. However, AL MUST stop the sale of these skins before a certain date or get booted off google play, hence the notice.

Staff are trying to get this warning reversed, so this may not be a permanent removal from sale. But in the immediate and near future, expect the listed skins to be unavailable for purchase.

THERE ARE NO PLANS TO DELIST ANY OTHER SKINS - THE SKINS IN THE ANNOUNCEMENT ARE THE ONLY ONES AFFECTED. (someone must really hate Atago)

And yes, iOS will be affected for now because it's the same client.

Anything about those specific skins? Like others have said, there are much lewder skins out there.

Looking at them, it might be because they are seemingly positioned in a way that indicates they might want to have intercourse. It's basically the only thing I noticed that could be a reason when I checked them.

Azur Lane basically is maintaining its sales from this, and X/Twitter has forced them to censor some of their offical skins posted.
