neoconservative subreddit /r/neoconNWO pins post and blames "isocuck" liberals for why people hate war now and why Americans want DRUMPTH to take his NATO ball and go home.

!neocon !neolibs

To all our well-meaning newly-arrived liberal refugees, who is this "we" you keep referring to when you lecture and virtue signal about Ukraine?

As far as "we" are concerned, you're all 80% as complicit as the isolationists in the current rightoid administration for the current geopolitical state of the world. It was Biden's Afghanistan withdrawal which emboldened Putin. It was years of liberal soft-handedness and tolerance of crossed red lines from Russia, which prevented Ukraine from joining NATO. It was Biden who refused direct intervention even when Russian troops were miles away from Kyiv. From Iran to Russia to Hamas, and soon China, we've warned for decades that authoritarians are deterred by solidarity and strength, not olive branches.

And now you want to lecture about Republican isolationism? My brother in Allah, you're the problem. As far as we're concerned, you're post Molotov-Ribbentrop Stalin lecturing about the dangers of nazi expansionism. Our contempt for isocucks does not preclude our equal contempt for you. So spare us the self-righteous lectures. The prisoners at gitmo are lucky they were only subjected to waterboarding, and not "self-righteous lecture by self-unaware liberal".

"Could it be the fault of Bush fricking up the Iraq War (and lying about WMDs) that Americans are now isolationalist? Nope. It's Obama's fault"

[Week 7 discussion thread] Talk about anything / What do you think of conceptual art?

By conceptual art I mean art where the art itself is really unimpressive, but what matters is the idea of the thing. :taymindblown:

For example, in 1977, Walter De Maria had a one-kilometer long brass rod buried vertically in Kassel. If you visit today to see this artwork, it looks like almost nothing, a little brass token someone dropped on the ground:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1739197858yKGzipA2k21mbg.webp

For some reason, I think this is a really cool and impressive work of art, maybe because it took specialized oil industry equipment and months of drilling to create. Seeing it in person, it makes you think of everything hidden in the world that we experience only the tiniest surface impression of.

They could have just stuck a 1-meter rod in the ground and said "oh, use your imagination for the rest," but that would have been crap imho. I respect the hustle, I suppose.

In contrast, I have no time for shit like Duchamp's Fountain - like, "oh it's a urinal -- but in an ART GALLERY?! -- oh my god how will those squares handle it?"

What do other RSP folks think? Conceptual art, based or cringe?

Or what else is going on with you? I have a cold and I'm resisting the temptation to take a bunch of meds because I want to be able to drink later.

Fired Fed. I am considering cutting off every Orange Man supporter. - /r/AITAH

Got axed. Not going to say which agency.

I've always considered myself extremely tolerant and willing to love people as they are… even if we don't agree on everything.

I've never been an Orange Man supporter, but I've kept it civil with friends and family that were. Some of them liked having a civil conversation about him. Some were belligerent about politics, so we didn't bring it up and tried to enjoy each other's company.

Getting cut from a great job that I really believed in with no notice has been extremely traumatic. It's still raw, but I feel so personally betrayed by those that voted for him. I can't see past the politics anymore when I look at these people I care/cared about.

Some have been contrite and apologetic, but then turn around and support him and VP Musk on social media.

I just can't right now.

I'm thinking about posting something and wishing the whole herd all of the best, hope they have a good life, but I won't be in it. Or maybe I just quietly block all of them and focus on myself for a while.

I do know that I will need to talk to my in-laws. I've always had a great relationship with them, but thinking of going to their house and watching Fox News almost makes me sick.

AITAH for feeling this way? Does it make me an AH for cutting all these 20+ year relationships off? Am I overreacting and acting out of emotion?
