I swear I am brain dead and also physically tired by like 1PM most days.
Does anyone have any strategies beyond adderall for this?
How can I become a post-lunchtime rowdy???

No carbs during lunch and I make an electrolyte drink with salt, potassium (some salt-substitute like Nu-Salt), magnesium (2 tablespoons mag citrate), water, and flavoring with B vitamins (something like Mio or the cheap store brands). I don't have that mid day slump anymore

Ya boi wasnt doing too hot

100 reps is too much and bad for you, you should have been wearing a weight vests so it was challenging for you at lower reps or changing up the push ups you're doing (diamond push ups etc)

How many pushups are too many? I do sets of 45-50 now, but dont go over 150 a day.
Jump in the discussion.
No email address required.
The real issue with that many push ups is that you're creating muscle imbalance. Throw in pull-ups/face pulls/anything that will work your rotator cuff so you don't have the posture of a knuckle dragging ape

Same for me tbh when I was a wagie. Now I don't wake up to an alarm clock but wake up most days at the same time as I did before. tbh, a bad night sleep is the worst. I think you've mentioned insomnia, and that's an energy drain. Workouts for me helped a lot but I had to get a good night sleep or my workout would deplete my energy.

"Don't eat lunch" is the best advice if you want to avoid post-lunch sleepiness but if you've failed that because, idk, maybe work paid for a big free lunch or something, then an energy drink is the only option. If you usually hit the gym after work, preworkout works too.

Caffeine and exercise. Ideally before lunch for the exercise.
I shoot to workout around 11-12 daily, then eat lunch and grab a quick shower. Two cups of black coffee after the shower, then a cup of Earl grey tea around 3. Keeps me awake, limber and going all day no drag.
Not sitting helps too. Chairs are killer for being tired and your health.

I get this incredibly bad too.
Stay away from carbs/heavy lunches. That's a big factor.
Something like salad with grilled chicken (oil and vinegar dressing, or I just eat it plain) - I find to be ideal.
Also if I'm dragging I just fricking go hard on coffee at around 2pm.
Also I've found that taking vitamins in the morning helps with my energy levels during the day. (it could be placebo, but w/e it doesn't hurt).
I take a super b complex and D3 every morning.
Then other obvious shit like sleeping well and being a relatively active/healthy person.

xtra carbs will contribute to fatigue regardless of caffeine / adderall intake. If coffee would bring you to 90% without a bunch of carbs, it will bring you up to 70% with a bunch of carbs.
Drink half the coffee before the meal, eat, then finish it off with the rest of the coffee... the caffeine won't hit you in time to stop you from being hungry, but it will kick in as you finish your meal & then you top it off with the second dose, which will stack.
The biggest way people mess up caffeine is by having bad timing. You can't really make practical use of coffee without knowing when the fatigue will hit... which you do, so use that info to time the boosts & dampen them.. if you get too low, it's gonna be extra effort to get back up-- but if you don't dip too low, you can just cruise

When I still worked at an office, my lunch was a grilled cheese, 4 shots of vodka and a pint of beer. Sometimes I'd have a black coffee afterwards if it was a particularly long day.
I didn't get anything done for the rest of the day, but boy did I feel good.

I made sure to never eat anything heavy for lunch. So many people I've worked with would have high density caloric meals for lunch that just tires them out. I'd also drink tea that's low in caffeine because too much gives you energy for an hour or two but then be wiped out by 3.
