I must have slept wrong or turned over wrong or something because I woke up with immense pain in my neck and shoulder.
Now I can't turn my head without feeling like a knife is stabbing me in my neck. I can't even lie down properly because it's agony.
I've taken ibuprofen and paracetamol, which helps a little. What else should I do? Heat pack? Cold pack?

Ackshually, BMI is totally inaccurate and meaningless. Just look at that professional bodybuilder the BMI says is obese.

Ask for tizanidine. Non addictive muscle relaxer. It's like ultra aspirin and will genuinely rid your aches for 2-4 hours at a time. Only thing is they can make you SUPER sleepy so take with coffee

That's so weird, I had that this morning. I just waited it out tbh. How are you, as a man, going to let a broken neck stop you. Get that bread king

Good point. If Meryl Streep can get up after a broken neck, so can I

They don't sell that here, sadly. Tho I bought some medicinal patch from the asian supermarket which supposedly helps muscle and joint pain.
Not only is it completely ineffective, I smell like a jar of Vick's VapoRub.

Ibuprofen can help with inflammation, but paracetamol doesn't do anything for me.
Diclofenac potassium aka voltaren is what I use for muscle soreness, it's OTC as well

Good idea. It's cold today, so hopefully I'll be warm and cozy as well as in less pain.

it'll loosen whatever muscle is strained and heating it helps blood flow which helps in healing the tissues. Ice for neck pain has never helped me personally but heating and massaging works

That happened to me a few years ago. pulled a muscle or something in my sleep and just woke up like that. HORRIBLE pain. What worked for me is plenty of painkillers a hot rice bag. like the kind you heat up in the microwave. that helped a lot.

I'd say some variation of a bridge exercise, but not that gay shit "glute bridge" or whatever, when you're just raising your butt and legs, but something that'll actually stretch your back and neck. A proper full bridge works, but it might be a wee bit too much now (and it requires some level of fitness), but doing something similar with just grabbing the edge of your kitchen counter with a chair under your butt should work just the same.
As someone with shit neck, back, and two cats who tend to turn me into a fricking contortionist when sleeping... it's a pretty darn useful exercise.
