It sure is the season for buying games you’ll never play! I remember when Steam had flash sales and activities during their sales… good times… You’d have to check back regularly or miss the actual good discounts.

Far cry 6. It's pushing the limits of my tolerance for mediocrity even for a mindless coop game. All the ingredients for a fun game are there but they frick it up. I think it's because the combat encounters are too small and broken up by long stretches of tedium
Nothing really changed for me tbh, cause I'm quite casual . I play 1-2 M+ (as DPS) a week and do current LFR (as tank for short queues). Only goals are "clear LFR" (ez as frick) and "get KSM" (also ez). The latter just takes time. I honestly have no clue what 10.1.5 brings except the mega dungeon.

I'm continuing my Dark Souls 2 human-maxxed run. So far I haven't died that much (other than Shrine of Amana), but I hope I'll make it through the DLC areas okay. I've run into a few players on Saturday afternoon/evenings, including a couple invaders, and I've tried out some of the NPC summons. While I prefer solo-ing as a first experience, DS2 in particular seems like it wants you to engage with the summon system. Lots of areas have NPCs available well before the boss, and the gankier areas are both fairer and more fun with an extra human player. Group mechanics, neat dungeon crawls, and the methodical combat system give DS2 the vibe of an edgy DnD campaign to me. While I understand people's problems with DS2, it has a special place in my heart, with both my favorite early-game and my favorite DLC levels of the series.
New Kairosoft game came out this weekend so I’ve been playing that. It’s a mix of the burger and the airport game but set in a cafe and I like it so far.
My minor gripe is the fact that you don’t restart every time you open up a new cafe. It just makes it way too easy. I wonder how late game will look, if they’ll give you extra objectives or if it’ll be like the airport game where there’s relatively little late game stuff.

I got back into WoW Classic.. again. Its like right on cue when my sub runs out that I want to play. Oh well, gonna try to hit 80 this month, and maybe try out the Hardcore Era PTR
My foid got really into Minecraft cause of her cousin so also been playing that. There is so much new shit idek what is going on anymore lol
Speaking of that, the prices on almost everything in the Nintentdo store are fricking ridiculous. $30 for minecraft?? $60 for Advanced Wars reboot, that new Mario RPG remake is gonna be $60, Mario Kart 8 is still $60. I think it would be cheaper for me to buy a hackable switch than pay for the games I want
I played a bit of hardcore but it's honestly too boring. There's honestly 0 challenge involved. Just don't be greedy and stop yourself from doing stupid stuff. And the longer you play the more skills you get, so it gets easier as you progress.
And don't do dungeons - the HC playerbase is utterly shit at the game. Just look at yt vids and you see a bunch of failing clickers.
Played Starship Troopers with my buddies last night. A little janky because it's still early access but it's got serious potential. No major issues, just the occasional graphic glitch.

I finished Golden Sun and almost got all the achievements
missing a super grindy one and a missable bullshit one.
I’ve started the sequel (The Lost Age) which had a really novel way of carrying over all your shit but I won’t have time to play it more until next week :/ it’s off to a great start though and I am so impressed by the quality of both of these old butt games.
Integrates with Retroarch and shit and it’s built into EmuDeck on the Steam Deck. Really impressive platform and constantly being expanded and it really does breathe new life into old shit. At least if you’re severely neurodivergent and have a fetish for meaningless achievements because number go up.
Considering launching Dyson Sphere Program since the next update will probably be at the end of the year and I've been itching to slave away in my free time.

Stellaris. It's almost 2 months since I returned to it, and honestly the multiplayer burned me out a bit.
It's fun to have other people to play with, but ADHD zoomers can be a bit too much for me in the long run. I much more prefer to play slower games solo.
Aside of that I got the GECK for New Vegas this week, so I'll probably get to playing and modding New Vegas for the next month or so. I don't really like to download mods, I prefer to tweak the games myself.

I'm playing Silent Hill 2 so I can understand just how dirty Bloober Team did it when they inevitably frick up the remake.
I've not got to anything truly scary yet (Just an hour or two in) but the vibe is nicely spooky and I'm really digging what the PS2 can do with it's limited graphics. It's just as good as when I was a kid.
I’ve been meaning to start this for like 8 months but I’m intimidated by it and feel like I need a week where I can commit to full time hermit mode to get the hang of it
I've been beating my head against it for the past week and I've been having a good time. The steep learning curve is part of the fun. Wander around the desert being murdered until you figure out how not to be immediately murdered. Then starvation becomes your problem, which you then eventually solve, so on and so forth.
For non-cheese in the early game it's all about grinding copper and/or iron. Find a node close to town and park someone on it. Once you've bought a building you can set up the automation so they mine and run back to town to store it but you still need to keep an eye on them in case of roving bandits or animals. Dragging bandit groups back to town for the guards to kill and then looting everything on their corpses works alright too in the early game.
If you want to cheese thieving is completely broken. You can make an absurd amount of money breaking into shops at night and taking everything of value.
