For context, if you use the progressive stack award, your posts are (temporarily) treated as if they have 2x their actual upmarseys. This was thought of as so powerful by the jannies that it costs 1500 coins for just 6 hours. Now, if you make a post that gets 140 upmarseys, and at the same time someone makes an effortpost that gets 30 upmarseys, or chud ragebait that gets 50 upmarseys, your post will actually be below them on the front page. In fact, since upmarseys are basically normally distributed (getting 30 upmarseys is pretty average, getting 90 makes yours one of the top posts of the day, getting 150 would make it the top post of the day), any sort of multiplier would change the content of the front page immensely, let alone a multiplier so large it treats mediocre effortposts and slightly above average chud ragebait as superior to the actual top post as chosen by users.

The fact that /h/chudrama is blocked by default is irrelevant, because most active users have it unblocked, so even if you block /h/chudrama every post you make is still effectively being deranked. I got a little (very) carried away with the Diatomaceous Earth yesterday trying to hastily treat my mom's flea problem. I only followed word-of-mouth directions from a friend, didn't look up anything or read the packaging. It's not even the food grade version.

How do I get this off the floors without just kicking it all up into the air? When I poured it everywhere yesterday, my asthmatic mom had trouble breathing afterwards. I just attempted to carefully sweep the kitchen, and walked away feeling like I just snorted rails of straight tree pollen. I have guests coming over tomorrow. What should I do?

P.S. Please don't be mean, I know I'm stupid and I've learned my lesson!

Edit: Update: Thanks for all the helpful advice!! I am so lucky to have done this in a house that has tile throughout instead of any installed carpeting. The furniture I coated with the D-Earth ended up being furniture my mom planned on getting rid of/replacing anyways, except for her leather sofa. The only thing we haven't been able to take care of with wet mopping and a wet rag is my bedroom rug, which gives me an excuse to go ahead and buy this other one I've had my eye on :) I'm so thankful that I didn't need to go rent any equipment to fix this, but thank you to all who suggested the idea!

I was considering an effort post on DRC as it's a good example of what's happening with daddies foreign policy. Can't be bothered to do an effort post today but some potential mining sites in this as it develops.

Rwanda have had a slow burning war with DRC since the 90's but the France and the US have largely kept them in check. They can quietly support their little separatist group as long as they don't try and expand the conflict beyond the eastern province they are in and they mostly ignore the war crimes. Rwanda has been using DRC resources to fuel their growth and want more.

DRC is much larger than Rwanda but it's been a failed state since the 90's and while some form of government has existed since 2005 it's limited to the West and South of the country and is very weak. Rwanda have relatively modern, for Africa, armed forces, and all the gibs they got post-genocide mean they have good infrastructure for that part of the world. Rwanda have also had the same president for 25 years who keeps "winning" with 90%+ of the vote.

When the US eyes went away the guerillas in DRC suddenly had tanks and helicopters. A couple of weeks later when no one did anything there were suddenly a whole bunch of Rwandan troops in the country and they easily took the largest city in the east. They have stated they intend to keep moving West and "liberate" the entire country.

In terms of natural resource value DRC is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. It's so profoundly undeveloped, has problematic geography and terrible security that no one has been willing to take it on.

Most of the time offers like this would be absurd but this is the type of "deal" Trump loves. Hopefully he restarts the Belgian mining practices and cuts childrens hands off.

A Cal Fire captain was found stabbed to death inside of her San Diego County home on Monday and authorities are still searching for the suspect.

Deputies were dispatched to the 20200 block of Rancho Villa Road in Ramona at around 9 p.m. on Monday after learning of an assault that happened in the area, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds, deputies said. Despite attempted life-saving measures the woman was declared dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, the victim was identified by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, as Rebecca Marodi, 49, a 30-year firefighting veteran who was stationed in French Valley just north of Temecula.

Thus far into their investigation, Sheriff's Homicide Unit detectives have yet to identify a suspect or motive in the incident, but they suspect that Marodi "knew the perpetrator and are treating this case as a potential domestic violence incident."

According to Cal Fire officials, Marodi began her firefighting career in 193 as a volunteer firefighter in Moreno Valley. She then served as a seasonal Fire Fighter I from 1994 to 2000 in San Bernardino and Riverside before she was promoted to Fire Fighter II. In 2007, she was promoted to a Fire Apparatus Engineer and to Captain in 2022.

She was previously stationed in Perris, Home Gardens, Indian Wells, Menifee, North Rancho Mirage and Temecula before ending up with French Valley Station 83.

"Beyond her operational assignments, Captain Marodi was deeply involved in Peer Support and Hazmat, always prioritizing the well-being of her colleagues," the Cal Fire statement said. "Her legacy of mentorship, service, and dedication will be felt for years to come. Her passing is a profound loss to her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working alongside her."
