genuinely, my favourite show of all time; i can always go back to it and watch every episode without hesitation
like all shows it did lose some magic in the later seasons, BUT the creative boundaries through cinematography and set pieces were still being pushed in the later episodes (Dewey setting up Jamie in the pants episode)
my favourite episode might be 'Malcolm Holds His Tongue', but there were so many greats
@MasterLawlz i think you'd have a few opinions on this show?

Unfortunately, the new Black Panther was pretty successful, so there wasn't much drama there, but Disney decided to help us out by releasing a new animation movie. As a disclaimer, I know literally nothing about this movie, I only watched a trailer and know that the main character is gay.
About the movie
Since most people don't even know this movie exists here's a trailer for anyone curious. Do you think it looks like shit? Well you're not alone! This movie is a rare masterpiece from Disney, earning an impressive 56% audiece score on RottenTomatoes. But the critics rated it fresh, with an average 72% (this dropped from 73% while I was writing this lmao), so maybe the movie was just review bombed by smelly neckbeards intimidated by a black gay lead? Luckily, no!
The movie is apparently honest to God this bad since it earned a whooping B CinemaScore! As further context, this is the lowest score a Disney animation ever got, with only a few titles ever going this low. Even Cars 2 and Chicken Little have higher scores, an A-. Some movie called Mars Needs Moms also has a B score if it help anyone, dunno what that is. For those still new to box office internet discussions, Cinema Score is currently the best tool to figure out what audiences really think about a movie since it polls people as they come out of the theaters and it doesn't rely on bots and the perpetually online for a rating. So you can imagine what a trainwreck this is
The movie's opening numbers in Europe are impressive with less than 5.000 people watching it in Germany and Italy, and only 6.000 something in UK. Yes, thousands not hundred of thousands. It's not doing any better in Murica either. And it's $180 million budged means that it won't manage break even, let alone make profit
RT Reviews
Awful movie promoting homosexuality for young children. You should be ashamed!!!!
U suk!
I love it! and whoever thinks this is the worst then they are stupid
No u!
I don't understand why most of the audience disliked this movie, they're all complaining about "poor storyline" and being a "generic" family movie. The screenplay is so well-written, the story is heartwarming, great casting, well-done voice-acting, marvelous animation and memorable characters. This is one of the best animation movies I've ever seen this year, just like Lightyear.
Shill or troll? You decide!
Seeing all the right wing nut cases lose their minds in these reviews is absolutely hilarious. We get it, you’re homophobic and can’t handle views that differ from your own.
Another woke mess from the nonbinary mouse. Gross. I sat through the whole thing just to watch how many people walked out of this movie. Lots.
N-no you see, I watched the whole movie because I hate it that much!
Disgusting and grotesque display of homosexuality. Improperly labeled. My family and I walked out on it so did my sister and her family. Shame on Disney for trying to impose their point of view on all others. We as parents should have been given the choice to view this movie through proper labeling and WARNING. I teach my kids to love and respect all irregardless of whom they are, but sexuality should not be shoved down anyone's throat nor put their children against their own parents for walking out on a movie whose goes against their moral beliefs. Shame on Disney for trying to create animosity and contention in our very own homes by putting in our kids minds that why are mommy and daddy making me leave because he likes another boy?; His daddy is very supportive of him and loves him and says it's ok so, why can't I watch the movie I have been waiting so long to see? Stay away from my family with that nonsense!!!!!!!!!
It's Disney's fault that my kids hate me!!!!!
Made a mistake taking our 5 year old grandson to this lackluster Disney movie, exposing him to unnecessary woke genderism with 2 homosexual scenes and even a homosexual preview scene. Really! In a kids movie.
This guy makes the movie sound way more based than it actually is
Story ok. Disney is trying too hard. What happened to good old fashioned stories with actual bad guys. Apparently we aren’t allowed to have bad guys in stories anymore.
Without a clear bad evil guy the movie is too complex for rightoids to understand apparently
Boring. Ridiculous environmental message. "Farming power" is bad. Living with candles and darkness is happiness. Wasted 48.
Do you think daddy Ted would have approved of this movie?
Link to the RT reviews, because I couldn't put it in the header: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/strange_world_2022/reviews?type=user
Unfortunately, IMDB has only 18 reviews for this movie and none of them are dramatic, just boring reviews about plot points and marketing, so I guess they got deleted

Disney’s new movie ‘Strange World’ features their first-ever openly gay teenage character.
How many first openly gay Disney characters are we at right now? Anyway that tweet started a lot of shit.
The movie already has a promising start!
The black FBI impersonator's name is literally White, this simulation is going to shit
Now seriously, look at how ugly this movie is
I have no idea what this means but is sounds like cope
Apparently the new Disney logo truly is the best part of the movie
Clearly this is intentional sabotage by Disney and not the movie being shit
They focused on representation so much they forgot to make a passable movie lmao
Welp, it's Shapiro's fault apparently. There is also a discussion about Lightyear and if that gay scandal influenced this gay scandal
Lots of comments here discussing what type of representation is good representation
The user then complains about Star Wars diversity and that starts a spaceshit related slapfight
This is a different Star Wars slapfight by the way, also I wanted to have a reddit rightoid spergout as well
The actual reason is a combination of the first two, if you ask me. Chapek has a well-established record of hostility towards LGBTQ content, as Nimona, The Owl House, Lightyear, and Everyone's Talking About Jamie can all attest. in each of the above cases he either canceled these works outright, or gave them minimal promotion. Strange World, as the first animated Disney film with a gay lead, doesn't strike me as something Chapek would have wanted to promote.
You'll see Chapek blamed a lot in any discussion related to this movie
This guy was kind enough to write down a few angry reviews so go and check it out!
I was surprised by how much I liked Turning Red
Redditors are still triggered that some people didn't like the period movie
Just visit your favorite site and search for Strange World and you'll lots of smug or angry rightoids and leftoids coping!

a disastrous 3-and 5-day of $15.8M and $20M-$23M for Strange World which cost a reported $135M. That’s not the worst for a Disney animated pic, particularly over Thanksgiving, but it’s darn close: Their $140M original animation movie Treasure Planet was in freefall back in 2003 with a 3-day of $12M and $16.5M.
How could a movie starring Disney’s first gay main character bomb??
It just has a fricking unappealing artstyle. Pure calarts diarrhea. I’m a cute twink but even I won’t go see this distilled aids.

He also slammed conservatives in his own country: “I hate them intensely, I’ve always hated conservatives, I’m afraid to say I’m very prejudiced against them, they’re horrible people.”
Deal with it chuds
The complaint can be summed up as "White British mxn says Black American (Chappelle) is a klansman and white Leftist jew (Maher) is a naziboi"
Idle appeared to disregard Chappelle’s claim that cancel culture is a phenomenon because, “Well where does he say it? On ‘SNL,'” later adding, “Well, you’re not being that much canceled, are you? If you were in your room complaining, I’d have a lot more sympathy.”
Idle offered one example of what does worry him, however, saying, “I didn’t like it when Bill Maher complains about the audience for not laughing, they’re telling you they don’t find it funny. You shouldn’t moan about the audience. There’s nothing wrong with the audience. If they don’t laugh at your jokes, there’s something wrong with your joke. And so … I’m not terribly sympathetic to that sort of attitude, to be honest.”
Idle also took a swipe at Twitter CEO Elon Musk, paraphrasing one of his own tweets that said paying for verification is like “buying a petting zoo and then charging the animals.”
He also recalled a past tweet where he said that “I do not believe in freedom of speech for fascists. That’s like putting diesel in a Tesla.”

After less than a year in retirement, Bob Iger has returned as the CEO of the Walt Disney Company.
The board just sent out a notice that Bob I. is back and recently re-upped Bob Chapek is out. “I am deeply honored to be asked to again lead this remarkable team, with a clear mission focused on creative excellence to inspire generations through unrivaled, bold storytelling,” said Iger tonight.
Having handed over the baton as CEO in February 2020 to Chapek — a stunning move unto itself at the time — and then serving as executive chairman until the end of 2021, Iger will be CEO for a second time for the next two years, the company says. Iger had previously been top dog at the House of Mouse from 2005 for 15 years, the final stage of what would be a 47-year run at Disney.
“The board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the company through this pivotal period,” said board chair Susan Arnold in the official announcement (read it below), just a couple of weeks after a rougher-than-expected quarterly earnings report by the company. Once a overachiever buoyed by success in streaming, Disney’s stock has recently sunk to a multi-year low as executives have warned of weak revenue and profit gains in the year to come.
Given the considerable turbulence experienced by Disney since Iger left the corner office, and also given his well-earned reputation for being as smooth and diplomatic a leader as Chapek could be an awkward and untested one, Iger was repeatedly asked if he would consider an encore. He always steadfastly refused, recently citing his new phase as an investor and industry observer with a lot more time on his hands. At 71 years old, though, he is certainly not at what is considered automatic retirement age in a business sector where many CEOs are active into their 80s and beyond. Rupert Murdoch, coincidentally Disney’s largest shareholder, is 91 and still chair of Fox Corp. and executive chair of News Corp.
“I don’t miss my job,” Iger declared during a September sit-down at the Code conference. “Retirement is great, I have a vastly different life than before. Much more air in my day.”
Chapek joined Disney in 1993, leading the company’s home entertainment and parks divisions before surprising most in the entire media and entertainment industry by getting the nod. Kevin Mayer, who had steered strategic planning and then overseen the company’s streaming efforts and the launch of Disney+, was seen as a more likely successor than Chapek.
While Chapek managed to keep Disney from disaster during the onset of Covid in 2020, gradually winning the confidence of investors, he had rougher sledding in 2022. The company was facing an increasingly expensive and difficult slog in streaming, though Disney+ continued to be a growth engine. Apart from the financials, Chapek presided over the messy situation in Florida involving the company’s efforts to head off the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” legislation. Gov. Ron DeSantis mocked the company as “woke Disney,” prompting waves of negative attention from conservative media, while internally many employees were stung. Workers held walkouts in many locations to express their feelings about how Disney had handled the whole affair.
“We were reminded, through the passion of our cast’s reaction, how important their sentiments are on these issues,” Chapek recalled last month at a Wall Street Journal conference. The lesson he learned about navigating thorny political matters? “Stick to your values, to your north star. Simplify the cacophony of voices out there and do what you think is right.”
Another misstep, which many in the industry believed would never have happened on his predecessor’s watch, was publicly clashing with Scarlett Johansson over the release of Black Widow. The Marvel movie had gone out through the Premier Access window (a Chapek innovation during the pandemic that hasn’t been used in more than a year), meaning it was available for a premium on Disney+ at the same time it hit theaters. The actress sued over breach of contract, saying the method of release had cost her tens of millions in back-end payments. Disney hit back hard, calling Johansson’s suit “especially sad and distressing in its callous disregard for the horrific and prolonged global effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.”
While the suit was settled a few weeks later, the dustup — and particularly the sharp-elbowed statement aimed at an A-list star — became a talking point in the company’s overall dealings with talent.
Read the shocking official announcement here:
The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) announced today that Robert A. Iger is returning to lead Disney as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Mr. Iger, who spent more than four decades at the Company, including 15 years as its CEO, has agreed to serve as Disney’s CEO for two years, with a mandate from the Board to set the strategic direction for renewed growth and to work closely with the Board in developing a successor to lead the Company at the completion of his term. Mr. Iger succeeds Bob Chapek, who has stepped down from his position.
“We thank Bob Chapek for his service to Disney over his long career, including navigating the company through the unprecedented challenges of the pandemic,” said Susan Arnold, Chairman of the Board. “The Board has concluded that as Disney embarks on an increasingly complex period of industry transformation, Bob Iger is uniquely situated to lead the Company through this pivotal period.”
“Mr. Iger has the deep respect of Disney’s senior leadership team, most of whom he worked closely with until his departure as executive chairman 11 months ago, and he is greatly admired by Disney employees worldwide–all of which will allow for a seamless transition of leadership,” she said.
The position of Chairman of the Board remains unchanged, with Ms. Arnold serving in that capacity.
“I am extremely optimistic for the future of this great company and thrilled to be asked by the Board to return as its CEO,” Mr. Iger said. “Disney and its incomparable brands and franchises hold a special place in the hearts of so many people around the globe—most especially in the hearts of our employees, whose dedication to this company and its mission is an inspiration. I am deeply honored to be asked to again lead this remarkable team, with a clear mission focused on creative excellence to inspire generations through unrivaled, bold storytelling.”
During his 15 years as CEO, from 2005 to 2020, Mr. Iger helped build Disney into one of the world’s most successful and admired media and entertainment companies with a strategic vision focused on creative excellence, technological innovation and international growth. He expanded on Disney’s legacy of unparalleled storytelling with the acquisitions of Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm and 21st Century Fox and increased the Company’s market capitalization fivefold during his time as CEO. Mr. Iger continued to direct Disney’s creative endeavors until his departure as Executive Chairman last December, and the Company’s robust pipeline of content is a testament to his leadership and vision.

I though I would hate it since I didn’t even make it halfway through the first and the foid told me it was three hours long and an almost entirely female cast, but no it was great. I’m not a film nerd so I don’t really know the words to describe why I liked it, I can say the acting was very strong and the camerawork looked beautiful.
Plus I’m a sucker for any movie with Mesoamerican themes, Apocalypto being one of my favorite movies.

I didn't watch the first one so I might be missing some context.
It is so painfully obvious that it's a kang's power fantasy. Or a kween's. Every smart/strong character in the film is black or black adjacent. In fact I think all characters are black. Except for a whimpy white guy and his white girlboss boss.
The plot is pretty dragged out. The film had three separate funeral scenes, and the action was lackluster at best. I thought they were gonna kill the antagonist (who was a haitian kang) and his army but none of that happens and the action scene ended with what was essentially a peace treaty.
The CG is also bad. Marvel probably doesn't have the budget it used to, but some of the scenes are straight up not trying. There are a few scenes where they were showing slow motions of water balloon bombs exploding. Who would want to see slow motion water balloons?
The most memorable part of the film is how they treat the wimpy white guy. I think he is never referred to by name by the black characters, only "colonizer".
Overall, not bad. My friends thought it was amazing tho so I need to farm some validation from you tards

Denzel Washington gets shot repeatedly and he hardly flinches
Denzel Washington shoves a block of C4 up a guy's butt, interrogates him, then blows him up
Denzel Washington has casual conversations with child traffickers then very casually blows them away with a shotgun
Denzel Washington is told that God is forgiving. He responds "forgiveness is between them and God." clacks a scope onto a rocket launcher "I just arrange the meeting."
The final shot is the main bad guy getting brutally executed by Mathis from Casino Royale
A title card right after that shot says "Special thanks to Mexico City, a very special place."
No part of that movie makes me want to travel anywhere near Mexico.
