Speaking of Nee Vegas and things that suck how would you salvage the storyline of the frontier ? I'd make it so that , while you do go explore a space station, it's one that never launched and is currently being used as headquarters by a local warlord. The hero is not the courier but is instead the intern. The NCR base consists of twenty people because Portland is not a priority for the NCR. Dr. Voss was H-Bomb's edgy pre-war soda mascot infamous for his radio ads where he'd kidnap whole families and force them to try H-Bomb in twisted experiments. They even paid a few actors to play him in public appearances. One of the local warlords is broadcasting as him. Blackthorne was real but he was a colonel who Elijah fried for trying to prevent him from shooting wounded BOS soldiers His brother is leading the NCR detachment trying to establish friendly relations with Portland. Tiberius Rancor is a Legion defector who requested being posted as far from the Legion as possible. The Enclave remnants are a gated community instead of an evil space station and are broadcasting music. The Snake People are instead a weird snake worshipping cult. The Legion isn't involved. The Crusaders don't exist. There is a brotherhood detachment but it's small and was only sent up here to investigate what Elijah did in Portland. It consists of a Mormon missionary, 3 knights, two scribes, a local scavenger named Charlene Yong with odd powers and a history with the Brotherhood, and a strange deranged teenager named AmeriKKKa who gives a backstory that doesn't make sense, is freakishly strong, can survive anything short of a fatman to the face, and is hiding a secret that may destroy the NCR as we know it. Also enslaving her leads to a bad end. “AmeriKKKa was now the courier's slave, but women are not little china dolls and their hearts are not toys to be played with. Sick of being constantly left alone in the Lucky 38 AmeriKKKa eventually hacked a
group of securitfons to ambush the courier and forcibly drag him back to the Lucky 38. She then broke the courier's legs with a sledgehammer after he said she was crazy and ordered her out of his apartment. He lived out the rest of his days bedridden as AmeriKKKa's beloved prisoner, given everything he could ever want except freedom. It turns out playing sadistic mind games with the mentally unstable and superstrong may lead to bad outcomes. A lesson we can all take to heart.”

Previously it was believed that Hi-Fi Rush would go multi-plat but now it looks like they're going to do the same with Starslop and Indiana Jones. Indy was looking like the first worthwhile exclusive they'd had in years too but now that's going to be on PS5 too. It is so over for Xbros. We are witnessing Microsoft going the way of Sega.

I credit fed my way through carn evil because those bosses are uber Bs. Played a lot of power stone until the joystick broke. Played a lot of Crazy Taxi and F Zero (in f zero the arcade chair moved with the game woah). Played arcade Mario bros which is way better then the nes port. I feel like people only hate the original mario bros because they play the nes port. Played some MvC rounds. Played some popp'n music.
Played defender. Played some centipede. Lotta fun.

r/diablo4 has a post about Musk expressing his disappointment at the current class balance in Diablo 4, claiming there was no point in having other classes if only one is strong. He is referring to Barbarian ofcourse.
Main post - Elon Musk threatens to leave D4 due to Barbarian being OP
Most of the drama is mainly centered in one thread with people jumping to defend musk and getting downmarseyd in process.
Parents money eh. You're not very bright are you? (44 downmarseys)
Rest is all comments saying he is welcome to do whatever he wants to. Its not a high stakes drama but just something I thought was worth sharing.

It's a gook ps exclusive with an attractive protagonist.
They went viral in development for firing 2 women for being feminists(?) The tweet is from 2022 and she deleted it so I don't know the deets. Too much butt?
Now the game is releasing and G*mers are doing a victory lap
Accusations of racism abound by G*mers Whytie be opressing us and shit
When it's a Western character they rejoice.(Jap dude too. Im glad to see asians sticking up for each other)
Baldur's gate literally bragged about how you could frick a bear.
People are pooping their pants over stellar blade having a girl who is pretty in it.
Thus the pattern of "It's okay when westerners do it" continues.
I love this dude in Reddit tho
Grasping at straws to like this game for something other than the butt. We don't know the story, but it has the possibility of being good. That has to counts for something.
I don't play oriental games so i can't really comment on how good the game looks, some of you can help there. I also wonder if this raised any buzz in Korea. Their feminists are crazy. Do tell if you have the deets
Final detail: I didn't find anyone actually clutching their pearls over this besides this @HerculeSatan post https://rdrama.net/post/242189/resetera-users-react-to-the-upcoming

I don't blame anyone for not posting this (it was in the PlayStation state of play thing) but it's a pretty confusing sight.
The environments look fine enough but the combat looks like Resident Evil 4 and completely misses the tone of the original. The sound design is iffy and the particle effects look like Half-Life 2 (post engine update)

A Hero-Shooter is a MOBA-shooter. Not every game that shares qualities with a MOBA is one, and this shouldn't be very hard to understand. StarCraft is not a MOBA just because it's top down and certain units have abilities and Street Fighter is not a MOBA, just because it has multiple characters. MOBAs as a rule are about a specific set of active abilities, any deviation from these abilities will be removed, such that a character is only used according to a set of guidelines. This a trend seen in many of the MOBA shooters released during the 2010s such as Overwatch, Paladins, Rainbow Six Siege and Valorant. It should not be difficult to see how, let's say Valorant differs from CS. In Valorant, you press a button, on a cooldown, which actives your ability to deploy a smoke based on a map overview, such that smokes can only be made as the developers intended, compared to CS where you can actively throw the grenade however you please. It is this trend of of button-locked cooldown-based special abilities that seperates a MOBA-shooter like OW, from let's say TF. In TF you must a physics-"bug" to damageboost yourself using rockets, something which has a great depth of skill-expression and differences, in OW you press the shift key, and when It was discovered you could damageboost, Blizzard removed it. Because the game is a MOBA, not a shooter, the abilities always take precedent over skill itself.

Was Hogwarts Legacy really the biggest game of 2023? In the U.S., at least, it apparently was. It's a condemnation of the American games industry as a whole, and a sign that consumers really didn't care about trans players' feelings around the Harry Potter game.
New data shared by consumer analyst Circana reveals that the game was the best-selling video game of all of 2023, at least in terms of dollar sales. For some added context, Hogwarts Legacy launched on February 10, 2023 for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. The game had a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release several months later in May, followed by its Nintendo Switch debut in November.
Created by Avalanche Software in conjunction with Warner Bros. Games, it was met with swift controversy when it launched due to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's transphobic history. Despite this, the game promised an immersive ARPG setting that expanded the Harry Potter universe's lore into the 19th century. Finally, fans could live out their dreams of attending Hogwarts as a real wizard or witch. That allure proved too tempting to resist, leading many g*mers to spend their hard-earned cash on the game, per Circana's data.
Was Hogwarts Legacy really that popular in 2023? According to data shared by Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, Hogwarts Legacy was the 2023's best-selling game across U.S. physical and digital purchases on PlayStation, Steam, Xbox, and the Nintendo eShop. With data based on dollar amounts, Hogwarts Legacy led against Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 at second place, Madden NFL 24 at third, and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at fourth.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom hit fifth place, although digital sales were not factored into Circana's data. Theoretically, that means Tears of the Kingdom might have sold more than Hogwarts Legacy. Granted, it's worth keeping in mind that Hogwarts Legacy had a much higher audience reach due to its availability on multiple consoles. Additionally, per Google Trends, Hogwarts saw a higher peak for Google search queries than Zelda. In other words, it's totally plausible that Hogwarts Legacy still remained the number one game of the year, even with Tears of the Kingdom's digital sales factored in.
Hogwarts Legacy topped Google as the most searched game of 2023 in the U.S., and in terms of revenue, it was the second most popular Steam game for 2023—beaten only by Baldur's Gate 3 (no surprise there). Screen Rant was quick to note Hogwarts Legacy's success in December 2023, pointing out that the ARPG surpassed Call of Duty as the best-selling game of 2023, unseating CoD for the first time in five years.
Hogwarts Legacy: a depressing tale for trans g*mers
Yes, Hogwarts Legacy was the biggest game of 2023. Which is quite depressing. Trans g*mers asked their fellow players to avoid playing the game last February, noting that Hogwarts Legacy would sanitize J.K. Rowling's image, further increase the cultural power her IP has in the world, and embolden bigots who purposefully purchased the game to show their support for Rowling—all while the Harry Potter creator continues to spout transphobic drivel on her Twitter account. Meanwhile, others alleged the game had a serious problem with antisemitic tropes, while controversy stirred around the game's seemingly shoehorned trans character.
All this criticism and more, however, did little to stem the nostalgia for the Harry Potter series. I remember playing a Valorant match in February 2023, and after a player asked if I was trans, she requested my permission to purchase Hogwarts Legacy—you know, despite all the controversy around J.K. Rowling. In her eyes, it was just a game. When I politely dismissed the question to avoid transphobic harassment, saying I didn't really care what she did with her money, she was pleased with my response—more or less calling me “one of the good ones.”
I suspect most g*mers feel the same way as that random Valorant girl. It's, after all, easy for a cis person to excuse what they do with their money. It doesn't really matter. It's just a toy! Some trans people just have too much free time on their hands to complain! Say what you want, Hogwarts Legacy fans, but your support for the game is darning: a clear sign that people won't listen to trans g*mers' boycott requests if the product in question is too alluring to avoid.

Why is it suddenly worse when China does it? The US Government does exactly the same thing.

Every single app on your (Windows) PC already has access to all your files, keyboard inputs, browser history, etc. Kernel access doesn't increase the amount of data apps have access to. Semi-related XKCD.
If you don't trust a piece of software, you shouldn't be running it. Kernel access doesn't matter, it's just a red herring.
It isn't. It's made by Riot Games themselves. Tencent hasn't taken it and used it for themselves in any of their subsidiaries. Take from that what you will.

Microsoft is literally sending data about your every click. It's easier to accept that everyone and everywhere is collecting your data. To avoid this you have to spend a lot of time and deal with some inconveniences. This is more for criminals, politicians, big businessmen, journ*lists

Did you know that every Intel processor includes an NSA backdoor? And that we have conclusive evidence that the NSA spies on Americans, but no such evidence that the Chinese government spies on Americans? Just food for thought
a-blackw-d0w
Saying you value your privacy and don't want to use Vanguard but at the same time, the NSA, CIA and FBI all spy on us and work hard to pass laws to make it easier and we never know about it, while tech companies knowingly work with them to give over our data anytime they ask and sell out data to advertisers + NSA was recently caught buying our data, while Microsoft has been caught a long long time ago openly putting backdoors in Windows for them to have access, your privacy has been dead for a long time, you're just now starting to see.

More and more cheats run in ring0. If you are refusing to install an anti-cheat that runs in ring0, you are essentially saying that cheaters won and you are no longer willing to fight them. It is what it is.

NEW: Spec Ops to be delisted entirely from online gaming stores (not just Steam)
— Stephen Totilo (@stephentotilo) January 30, 2024
A 2K rep tells me: "Spec Ops: The Line will no longer be available on online storefronts, as several partnership licenses related to the game are expiring." 1/2
If you have not played Hard-working American Ops The Line, please pirate and play it if you can since it has now effectively become abandonware, or if not, then just watch some videos about it, it actually is an anti-war masterpiece, the vidya equivalent of this:
To kill for yourself is murder. To kill for your government is heroic. To kill for entertainment is harmless''

I feel like Ubisoft will update and ruin all of their old games eventually (probably make them run thru this awful new front end thing they're pooping out) so I should probably play it while I can.

Kingdom Hearts 2 is EASY and the gameplay is BORING holy shit.
The level design in KH2 is awful. Every level is big yet somehow empty with nothing to explore. KH1 rewarded you for digging into every corner and using every single movement ability the game gives you.
KH1 combat requires you to actually use the block and dodge roll option. When you gain an ability or an extra hit on your keyblade it makes a tangible difference in your combat. In KH2, the combat is pretty much the same throughout the entire game. Just mash the attack button and the triangle button whenever the game tells you to. Every boss fight is easy as piss even on critical. The only difficult fights in those games are the secret bosses. Drive forms are busted too btw. Magic in KH1 is pretty busted but I don't use magic in games because I'm not a fricking CUTE TWINK.
The plot in both games is a little silly but at least in KH1 is coherent. Idgaf about some secret organization that pops up in every world. They totally undermine the worlds themselves because the villain of that world isn't the "real bad guy". It's some edgy cloaked figure and the Disney villain is treated as someone just in the way of the plot, where in KH1, the Disney villain of that world is part of the big group of villains so encountering them actually matters. And the plot of KH1 was at least reasonable. If a decent writer handled the rest of the series, I really think Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be regarded as such a stupid, convoluted series. The plot truly falls apart in KH2 (and Chain of Memories but the gameplay in that one was sick lol). It gets completely ridiculous and crowded with a bunch of unnecessary characters and plotlines. Everybody gets a keyblade. Everybody has 3 clones of themselves. There's 20 organizations introduced.
I will say the crafting in KH2 is pretty good tho. I could go on and on more but I'm phone-posting rn so I don't feel like it

Love Shin Megami Tensai. Hate Persona stans. Simple as.
Persona 4 was where the series became unbearable IMHO. P3 fez is my favorite. Discuss Reload vs Fez vs Portable and the inferiority of persona 4.
