I remember when I first joined it was kind of cheeky and irreverent, and it still seemed plausible that women posted here. But it's become progressively more shallow and heartless. I mean I can't be the only one picking up on this, right? "The worst thing about DOGE is how soy it all is"? We can't just express outrage at immorality anymore, every criticism must be given through the lens of haughty indifference and framed around coolness or lack thereof. I think some people here have genuinely replaced their concept of wrong and right with cringe/not cringe and never stopped to consider how cruel and purposeless it could make them.

Quick question did you ever listen to the pod? Like even one clip or so?
People actually listen to Rspod?!
Gooooood, for the 100,000th time - this is a unique sub and one of the only decent culture/current events subs on reddit, the podcast sucks shit so most people here either never listened or stopped listening in 2019 (me). I used to like A&D but in the last five years one became a Fox News dork and the other is hawking a shit coin, they've changed. That being said, what drew me to them and this sub in the first place was their critique/thoughts on the overly woke/grifter left and establishment liberals. What I and many didn't know back in 2018 was A&D are insecure dorks who just adopt whatever ideology they currently find chic/edgy, and as soon as Bernie/progressive politics became boring they moved onto the next thing. But a lot of us here have beliefs based on morality/ethics/what we find to be true, so here we are
Tldr: "I have never and will never engage with the content this sub is about but here's how it should be run."
Anyways I thought this was a fun thread. The commenters even got OP to self delete out of shame.

Like b-word do we even know it's female ?
Like the first time I seen a trans in my life was in Japanese game
I think they forgot how large the asian male population is. Even if their target demo did not buy it the asian makes would have well made up for it.
Homo forgot he is r-slurred Redditor. Would a non Japanese chunk want to play a homonorable Japanese warrior killing l'evil mayos and saving Japan. Or dildoing the japs little samurais as black Chung ?
For frick sake even japs would rather prefer to play some Chinese warrior than samurai because they literally releasing unlimited amount of dynasty warriors shit.
And sucker punch realised that since ghost of Tsushima was banned in Korea and probably Mongolia and China. So next game will be normal while you playing a foid fighting the evil Japanese colonisation. We often forget how evil japs were with native folks.
If you love anime you should know its history and like almost everything post ww2 it's created with a bit made in America and antisemitism (Disney) influence.
And sumo should let women participate because with rising fat women percentage around the world, land whales also need a job.
https://instagram.com/reel/DEstN9-OZu6/
Also comeone it's based
Still cant play as a Japanese samurai, so who cares...
If he want to play that much as Japanese samurai he can play the best action game about Japanese samurai that is like metal gear rising
But I bet our samurai loving Redditor didn't even played that hidden gem

OP
Canadian here. Not sure if this is PreperIntel worthy but just reporting something I've honestly never seen in my life. Canadians woke up today feeling super patriotic. And super pissed. Not that we aren't usually patriotic but we aren't a bunch of flag wavers. It's more a quiet patriotism we keep to ourselves. And we are generally a polite and reserved bunch in general.
Not today. Holy... the mood in Canada is ... PISSED.
Most of the anger is aimed at your current head of state but also at your country as a whole. Not so much individual Americans. You will be perfectly safe traveling through Canada or visiting. But there is outright anger directed at any product with a "Made in the USA" flag. Every store in Canada is going around with maple leaf stickers marking the "Made in Canada" products. Consumer boycotts are springing up organically across the country. The talk is really sort of ... ugly.
I get the sense there has been significant damage done to the US Brand in Canada. And I don't think it's confined to Canada. I have friends in the UK who say the same. They are also just frankly pissed beyond all reason. I expect it's the same across Europe.
Hopefully it dies down. It's absolutely non-productive and unCanadian. America and Canada have been ride or die BFF's for a century or more. I live in Arizona 1/2 time and I love LOVE it here. I have yet to personally meet an American I didn't genuinely like. You are good people. You do not deserve any of this.
Unless of course you voted for this. In which case... hope you get everything you voted for and then some.
also RIP to /r/prepperintel, it has turned into just another 'Drumf le bad' subreddit

"And, peculiarly, Civ 7 only really covers history up to about 1950. You get planes and tanks, but there are no home computers or helicopters in this tech tree at launch. Wow. 2 million people have viewed my reels in the past 30 days. Is that a lot for some of you? Probably not. To somebody, who just one month ago, bought a new computer brush up on his video editing, and was sitting on a few years of emotionally-charged raccoon footage he didn't think he'd ever get around to? It's fantastic.
Swipe on over to my reels tab to see what I've been working on (I keep them separate from my posts). There's some car stuff, mostly raccoon stuff, and a lot of repeats as I figured out what worked, what didn't, and realized all of the different ways I could cut the footage.
I was pleasantly surprised to see just how much footage I have of One, Two, and Four's short life. It's taken about two years for me to be able to watch it, but now that I have I am so glad I've had the opportunity to share them with the world. They were truly the best raccoons I've ever had, and I've had a lot of raccoons pass through my life. I plan on doing something more long-form with the footage at some point, but my creativity needs a recharge as I'm getting quite frustrated with the process.
For those of you who've endured this somewhat obsessive and absolutely obnoxious episode, I thank you. Things will likely be slowing down now, however, as I'm running out of good footage and time to waste.
Here's hoping somebody brings me some orphaned babies this spring.
______________________
On a more serious note, thank you, rDrama for putting up with my bullshit. For a select few of you though, go frick yourselves and just ignore it if you don't like it lmao. My goal for the month was to become a raccoon influencer on IG and goddarn I did it. What have you accomplished this month that was so great?

I am cautiously optimistic that we will reach the $4B/day FY2026 reduction this weekend https://t.co/XQBK3rqkwo
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) February 1, 2025
Reducing the federal deficit from $2T to $1T in FY2026 requires cutting an average of
$4B/day in projected 2026 spending from now to Sept 30.
That would still result in a $1T deficit, but economic growth should be able to match that number, which would mean no inflation in 2026.
Super big deal.

Elon Musk's DOGE commission gains access to sensitive Treasury payment systems
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Department of Government Efficiency, run by President Donald Trump's billionaire adviser and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has gained access to sensitive Treasury data including Social Security and Medicare customer payment systems, according to two people familiar with the situation.
https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-elon-musk-doge-treasury-5e26cc80fcb766981cea56afd57ae759
"They seem to want Treasury to be the chokepoint on payments, and that's unprecedented," the person added, emphasizing that it is not the bureau's role to decide which payments to make — it is "just to make the f-ing payments."
https://www.cnn.com/2025/01/31/politics/doge-treasury-department-federal-spending/index.html
Federal Outlays Breakdown, these are what the treasury actually pays out
Throughout this page, we use outlays to represent spending. This is money that has actually been paid out and not just promised to be paid. When issuing a contract or grant, the U.S. government enters a binding agreement called an obligation. This means the government promises to spend the money, either immediately or in the future. As an example, an obligation occurs when a federal agency signs a contract, awards a grant, purchases a service, or takes other actions that require it to make a payment. Obligations do not always result in payments being made, which is why we show actual outlays that reflect actual spending occurring.
Napkin math with last years numbers:
Social Security: $374 B (19.7%)
National Defense: $262 B (13.8%)
Health: $246 B (13.0%)
Net Interest: $242 B (12.8%)
Medicare: $233 B (12.3%)
Income Security: $162 B (8.5%)
Veterans Benefits and Services: $105 B (5.5%)
Education, Training, Employment, and Social Services: $52 B (2.7%)
Natural Resources and Environment: $39 B (2.1%)
Transportation: $36 B (1.9%)
Other: $43 B (2.3%)
Total Outlays Spending: $1.9 trillion
Assuming boomers and the defense companies
are untouchable and muskrat
isn't r-slurred enough to default on interest payments overnight this can be met by immediately halting payments for:
- Income security(162b) + Vets services(105b) + Education(52b) + Environment (39b) + transportation (36b) + Other(43b) = (.162+.105+.052+.039+0.036+.043) trillion = 0.437 Trillion dollars
Lets slap on a halt for all healthcare outlays including medicaid for 246b to get 0.683 Trillion dollars . Nowhere near enough dollarydoos to meet the target.
Lets make some harder sacrifices. All outlays to the penta-GONE (262b) for 0.945 Trillion. Now the target can easily be solved by reducing SS payments by 14%
.
Bigger picture 1 trillion dollars is 3.65% of nominal GDP and 1 trillion dollars worth of outlays being halted for a year from this scheme fires a solid chunk of 2 million soldiers, 2 million federal employees, every contractor so something like ~5-7 million people? Pulling some galaxy brained napkin math out my butt thats 1/16th the total workforce for an additional 6% unemployment not including private sector income loss by sept 30.
UPDATE: FAKE NEWS
MULTIPLE ABOVE SPENDING BUDGET BY 3
Will this go through ?
Who knows ? Its literally the most illegally r-slurred way of cutting the deficit imaginable
.
But muskrat says its the plan and this is what the payments system controls
