Dude was asking the staff to check their system for a record he was looking for, they told him they were too busy (pretty clearly trying to get him to just leave), and then he went off on them. He kept saying: "Think about what you are saying my friend! This is not wise! This is not wise at all!". There were five employees that had no means to actually handle the situation and just kept saying "You need to leave!" while the dude carried on. Finally they gave up and the guy went back to shopping. I was trying to check out, so I got a front row seat to the action. The staff were absolutely seething afterwards, but again, they couldn't handle the situation themselves and just had to hope he would eventually leave. It was funny as frick.

Yeah there's a lot of stuff missing here. I had a boyfriend once who's toenail wouldn't grow. He didn't have a rampant fungus problem but that one toenail did. My first suggestion was to go to the doctor, they have easy solutions for it. He kept googling household hacks and trying to fix it himself. It wasn't even a „his body is bothering me" issue. The new Starbucks CEO announced that Starbucks isn't a free hangout space anymore. That means you can only be in a Starbucks if you pay for something. This stops homeless people from living in a Starbucks and getting:

• Free water

• Free restrooms

• Free all-day hangout space

A common complaint on /r/starbucksbaristas is that the staff are tired of having to deal with homeless people - they spend all day in the stores, lock themselves in the bathroom for hours at a time while shooting up, and they often have to call the police. For example:

we STILL get annoying incidents, because our DM told us we cannot deny the bathroom to anyone unless in extreme situations. so even when a homeless person wants the restroom, we have to let them in, and most of them take anywhere from 40 mins to an hour in the restroom and it's our only restroom. so partners AND other customers are stuck waiting. we've had to call the police multiple times because they refuse to come out or are doing hard drugs inside. someone has left needles in there before. it's a weird situation.
