So with new Dutch and Belgian laws, to release an online game you need to fill a lot of paperwork so smaller games even without loot boxes wouldn't put effort to release their games in that region.
So here giga r-slurred example: Lollipop Chainsaw remaster. Came out on 12 September and pre orders were available. In Dutch store nothing no preorders no release then on 25 September it drops out. On Belgium store it dropped out on 3rd October. Like why would we need EU standards and etc if countries can reject them and create their own standards. So what online did Lollipop Chainsaw have leaderboard. So Dutch localisation needed 2 weeks (game had preorder early access) to determine if the game was safe and Belgian minister even longer

With Lollipop Chainsaw it wasn't big deal since game was mostly offline so I just get germ version.
But some games require always online connections. In the past it wasn't an problem but new rule made that before a game comes out officially devs need to ban accounts from those countries from connecting to the services of the game and for PlayStation there is stricter rules that to release on Apple Store. The manga in question is "It's a Little Late, but I've Fallen in Love with My Childhood Friend" (imasara desu ga osananajimi wo suki ni natte shimaimashita).
The story initially 
starts out as this extremely cutesy story of a highschool girl realising she's fallen for her childhood friend and her subsequent efforts at getting closer to said childhood friend. Now, when I say this starts out cutesy I'm not exaggerating. It's very cutesy 
and full of fluff . It feels like the type of manga where the MC and her crush holding hands would be treated as a major romantic development.
But come chapter 21, disaster strikes.
It is revealed that one of the side characters had been fricking our MC's object of affection 
. Yep, this is no longer a manga about two cutesy virgins getting closer to each other. Then the POV entirely shifts towards the side girl and it becomes a depressing story of how this girl is fricking our guy in order to distract herself from her fricked up family situation 
. This is a complete tonal shift from how the manga was for the past 20 or so chapters.
Suffice to say the fans were not pleased 
( as you can guess from 10x increase in comments on mangadex for chapter 21 ). The show gets bombared with negative reviews taking its ratings from an impressive 9 to a 6 with people making accounts just to shit on the author

Exactly. On top of it the premise didn't hint any of this. Rather the premise had been set on a short wholesome romcom. So the drama was really unexpected and this chapter is so sudden.
The seethe continues into subsequent chapters months afterwards.

Consider me upset and disappointed (as if redditor's feel any other emotions
). And I was actually going to make a post about how I've been pleasantly surprised at the lack of mask pushback the past 6ish months at doctors appointments. Which is GREATLY appreciated as I've been dealing with a newer chronic health condition, on top of my grandma who's on oxygen needing her doctors appointments as well.
Long story short - I asked my doctor to sign a medical exemption form for me so I can wear a mask to this upcoming necessary appointment. I was once again pleasantly surprised, she didn't question me and I felt like she was finally taking me seriously.
I opened the envelope today and read what she wrote: "Severe Generalized Anxiety Disorder". Not my chronic migraines, or the fact that I'm a care giver. We never discussed this "severe" anxiety disorder and I thought she finally recognized that a) my precautions are not because of my anxiety and b) my increased anxiety was due to my undiagnosed chronic migraines that I developed from a hormone medication SHE put me on.
I'll fully admit that my anxiety got much worse before my migraines were properly addressed. It was an uphill battle where I was not being heard by my doctor - the "it's just anxiety, anxiety, anxiety" bit until I had hospital worthy chronic pain...
But my family and I have masked and taken Covid precautions since 2020. It's infuriating that wearing a mask is likely the reason why my doctors first answer to everything is anxiety. Like pardon me for being educated and trying to protect my family. I guess that makes me incredibly anxious. So be it.
