I'm reading "Petersburg" as part of our book club, but because it's a one chapter per week basis I started "Brothers Karamazov" this week as I never read it before and I recently got a wonderful edition by Editora 34 (the only Dostoevsky book I had read was C&P).

So far I wonder if terrible fathers are just a recurrent theme on Dostoevsky's works.

I bought gamepass for Indiana Jones (8/10, it's actually pretty solid) and figured I'd give this slop a shot.

After finishing up the tutorial I got my main man Garrus (now a fish instead of a bird), we went and fought a bear in a boss battle Next I went back into town, only to get shot and brought back to life.

I was under leveled so I decided to start doing some side quests to get money and resources. Bounty hunting was decent, but I also helped some whores get abortions which Garrus loved. Somewhere in there I did an actually good quest involving an immortal godlike trying to animate a statue with souls. Easily the highlight of my time with the game and I'm fairly certain this is by far the best quest in the game.

After that I was able to upgrade my gear and get back on the main quest, which led to a cute twink dwarf deciding to tag along (certainly wasn't my choice), and eventually I found my assassin and decided to turn him in so he could be tortured instead of lynching him (cute twink dwarf really didn't like that).

Finally I quit when in the next zone, I went into a random house, and learned that they'd made Garrus into a literal gay fish. I exited the house, realized I had two cute twinks following me around that I could not dismiss or kill, and uninstalled the game.

Combat is pretty good, definitely feels better to play than it looked in previews. The writing is more reddit than even outer worlds but this is still easily a much better game than that garbage because of the aforementioned combat.

4/10, probably an 8 if you're not homophobic.

I actually felt like "Is this what is needed to survive the next 4 years?" Is this normal or has anyone else felt like this? Does this mean I am not punk anymore?

You have someone relying on you and it's not everyone's responsibility to be fighting every single fight. You have every right to keep yourself and your loved ones safe and anyway punks look after each other. You looking after your youngling is a perfectly punk thing to do.

I will address each point. High COL - COL was high pre-pandemic. Trumps proposed tariffs and threats of trade wars with our biggest trading partners will make that worse. Inflation was a global phenomenon that followed the pandemic. Every country in the world experienced it. It had to do with resulting whiplash from supply chain disruptions, and all of the aid that was sent out. Most of the aid Covid Aid was sent out by Trump. Biden had the fastest recovering economy from inflation in the world and it's currently below where it was pre-pandemic at 2.1%. It typically floated at 3-4% pre pandemic (ps: that's lower than Trump). Open borders - more border crossings happened under Trump than Biden. Biden administration had a bipartisan bill that was going to bulk up border security. Trump undermined it by threatening republican congressman so the Dems could not get a win and he had some bull shit to run on. What did Trump do for the border? Why didn't he lock it down while he was in offi... (1)

Arming and funding Ukraine while giving them permission to strike in Russia using US weapons is pretty involved. Why not negotiate? That's often the best course of action when it comes to global conflict. Particularly one with nukes. Russia considers us to be at war due to our involvement in Ukraine. Biden has been drip feeding resources, never giving enough to ensure victory, but enough to keep money in defense companies' pockets. It's a forever war, and Ukraine is paying for it with their blood. Biden did not have to follow Trumps plan. The Taliban didn't follow the terms set in negotiations, so why did we?
