It leads to a bunch of armchair generals and sudden hidden genius economists to appear and give their highly educated and totally correct take based literally just on what some guy said.

And the drama pull is so good we got r-slurred here spending hours a day arguing!

Anytime a thread slightly mentions ukraine you see @QuadNarca @WeihnachtenSalvador @fedposter and a bunch of others fight and argue over something an ocean away from them (or whatever the distance India is to Russia for half the spergs)

Even on WPD people are fighting over whose "more moral" and why one is better to make them morally superior despite all the posters being gore freaks.

Why do so many liberal women date conservative men

Long time lurker of this sub but thought to make this post. For preface I am a liberal guy but am bisexual. Currently in a great relationship with a guy and not interested in dating women. So this isn't a "why don't women date me" post.

So I've been pretty involved in liberal politics in my adult life. Been to plenty of protests, rallies and even worked for a democrat running for local office. Due to this my social circle is filled with like minded people including plenty of women.

Over the years it seems that every single one of my female friends has brought around a conservative boyfriend at some point. Some of them have held their views secret but all of us could tell through comments and obvious discomfort with our political views. Others have been outwardly conservative both in person and on social media.

Recently a female friend started dating a die hard MAGA guy. The type of dude who wears a MAGA hat to the grocery store. Lets just say I was shocked. This was the same girl who went to protests and was outwardly anti MAGA. I asked her and her response was "oh he's only MAGA because he cares about the economy" when his social media is filled with posts that were everything she hated.

I understand that people's views can change but it seems like a really abrupt 180. Going from "I'd never date a conservative guy" to "oh he just cares about the economy" within days.

I've done some internet lurking about it and lots of posts say its a masculinity thing. Conservative men tend to fall into traditional masculinity a lot more (financial provider, family values and such). I'm wondering if any Gen Z women can shed some light on this?

I was considering an effort post on DRC as it's a good example of what's happening with daddies foreign policy. Can't be bothered to do an effort post today but some potential mining sites in this as it develops.

Rwanda have had a slow burning war with DRC since the 90's but the France and the US have largely kept them in check. They can quietly support their little separatist group as long as they don't try and expand the conflict beyond the eastern province they are in and they mostly ignore the war crimes. Rwanda has been using DRC resources to fuel their growth and want more.

DRC is much larger than Rwanda but it's been a failed state since the 90's and while some form of government has existed since 2005 it's limited to the West and South of the country and is very weak. Rwanda have relatively modern, for Africa, armed forces, and all the gibs they got post-genocide mean they have good infrastructure for that part of the world. Rwanda have also had the same president for 25 years who keeps "winning" with 90%+ of the vote.

When the US eyes went away the guerillas in DRC suddenly had tanks and helicopters. A couple of weeks later when no one did anything there were suddenly a whole bunch of Rwandan troops in the country and they easily took the largest city in the east. They have stated they intend to keep moving West and "liberate" the entire country.

In terms of natural resource value DRC is one of the wealthiest countries in the world. It's so profoundly undeveloped, has problematic geography and terrible security that no one has been willing to take it on.

Most of the time offers like this would be absurd but this is the type of "deal" Trump loves. Hopefully he restarts the Belgian mining practices and cuts childrens hands off.

US don't give Ukraine any security assurances but will support security assurances. It means if France gives security assurances to Ukraine, US will say good job.

Ukraine will pay US from profit. This is a big thing since those minerals ain't worth 500 billions after all the explicit and implicit cost. Those resources ain't easy to get so a lot of capital and labour cost.

If resources are the goal then there are tons of better countries or artic where US and Russia agreed to co operate. Ukraine resources probably would be sold at lost next 50 years minimum.

But key part of that deal is the "other" Ukraine will give its infrastructure like ports in U.S. control

Here the deal chronology. Zelenskyy thought Trump is business man so he can frick him over and drag him into the conflict if he offers some arbitrary resources (those resources is what some Soviet researchers assumed is there 60 years ago) for security assurances.

He offered that deal to Trump and Trump told he will give support for assurance and Ukraine will pay debts and Zelenskyy told ok it's a deal. When he talked with some of his lawyers, they explained to him how Trump actually fricked him over so that's why Zelenskyy started bitching about no deal. But since Ukraine is super dependent on US he started to beg to remove debts part so now it's goodwill

And that's kids example why most politicians have laws degree and not political degree

And best part Zelenskyy came to US to sign that deal that would mean to cancel that deal he will need to open an US court
