No he should have let the market correct itself. People who way over leveraged them selves should have lost the assets. There is a reason why our markets are all so messed up across western nations and its because instead of allowing natural corrections to happen we flood the markets with cheap debt and money printing. The only slobs are the ones who over spent and over extended themselves that should have lost those assets. Instead the next generations pay for their bailouts through inflation. Yeah no one is really sure about the fixed election date law and if they could just cruise past it without an issue. They definitely can't get past the 5 year law. That's in the constitution.I don't know what if any "emergency" powers would allow the government to circumvent parliament's ability to approve spending either. The government doesn't have enough money to operate indefinitely without parliament resuming and all the parties, the NDP now included, have made it clear they intend to bring down the government at the earliest opportunity. (2)

I think it might be possible to say that an International Emergency might give them the authority to appropriate funds (see Section 30) but that would set up a constitutional crisis. Parliament could also revoke the emergency. (2)

Thank you. I don't know much about the ICE raids but I mentioned it because that's something I've been seeing people protest about at the other protests I've been to. Immigration and how to deal with illegal immigrants has been an issue for a while. I think now that Trump is carrying out all these deportations, people are more inclined to talk about their feelings about the issue that have been there for a long time. There is also an issue with illegal and legal immigrants being a large part of our agriculture and that deporting them would have immense negative effects for our economy. People are also against ICE raiding schools for lots of reasons. That shit would be hella traumatic if I was a kid. I understand that people immigrating here illegally is a problem. But when I have friends who are terrified that their parents are going to be deported and they'll have to find family to stay with I have to have empathy for that. I think it needs to be easier for people to get into our c... (7)

It has a lot to do with how Trump demonizes immigrants and has used them as a scapegoat throughout his political career. He's called them male feminists, animals, murderers, etc. And then there are the plans to set up a massive detention center at Guantanamo Bay, which has detained some of the worlds most heinous terrorists—so yeah, putting people whose only crime might have been entering the country without documentation there is pretty despicable. At the end of the day, most immigrants to America are just looking for a better life, the American Dream. We're a country built on immigration, so demonizing them and focusing so much power on ruining their lives is just plain wrong. I'm not saying there shouldn't be a border, but the glee with which Trump and co are going about this is disturbing and theyre starting to look a lot like some of history's most infamous villains (1)

Yes, this country was found on immigrants, but that was 250 years ago now we are an established republic with checks and balances. and I think a lot of those were clips that were taking out of context. He was calling the cartels animals and the person that killed Lake and Riley a monster, but I have never heard him say all Mexicans are evil or anything of that sort. but he did run on all of this and one really I don't see the difference in a Guantánamo Bay prison versus a state prison and in reality, we don't have enough room in our prison system to house them anyway we've got to house them somewhere else until they can be deported which I really don't think is very long (1)
