Worked at a rescue kind of spot with easily 200 chickens, 50 turkeys, 3 rheas, 3 emus, few pigs, 10 goats, and a sheep. 98% of the chickens were fine, but there were definitely 2 roosters I would have done this to. Those mfers would hunt you down. I'd have to lock myself in the coup so they couldn't get in, and they'd keep pacing around trying to get in. (Also 1 of the emus was completely psycho and would charge you if you came within 100ft of it, luckily they are easily scared away) I'd rather by charged by the angry emu, then deal with angry roosters. (18)

Was just gonna say. I often pet sit for this family who raises chickens. The hens are more or less fine but the one rooster they have is such a b-word. And not even like a big one, just this little shit that thinks he's hot shit. I'd be lying if I said I haven't (lightly) punted that little fricker to show him who's boss. (7)

Yes, there is a distinct difference between eating tasty food and murdering a living being personally. Both from a psychological perspective and a moral one. (1)

Only to people who live in a world where the concept of consuming meat is completely detached from the inherent death and murder it entails... being ignorant of the fact you're supporting animal slaughter doesn't make it somehow more moral. Cannibalism bad whether it's a pyscho killing and eating a stranger or a "regular consumer" entering a "restaurant" to eat pieces of human meat that don't resemble a human in any way besides being called human nuggets. The latter involves killing millions of humans. (2)

Angriness: 😡😡😡😡😡

If a dog attacked you? I would definitely spin toss that shit.People here are weirdly dillusional. If you get an increasing strength in whooping and still go back for more, then it's on you. (5)

Yeah.. if a dog repeatedly attacked me, i would kill it. Or at least try to. Its either gonna be killed by me or whatever agency comes to destroy it for being a threat to humans. I don't see why humans should hold back against animals when their health is in danger, even if their life necessarily isn't. They aren't human. They don't understand logic necessarily. It's an easy way to let yourself get seriously hurt. (2)

Mandatory tramp bad comment:

My favorite trope is that women are too emotional to be good leaders. Have you seen some of the men in charge? Trump has the emotional regulation of a toddler on meth and people think he'd make a good leader. Elon Musk got on stage and told his customers to go frick themselves because they hurt his fee-fees. These men are absolutely unhinged.

I want to underline your point about loving all of yourself. It is so, so important.

When I was in middle school I was put on a medication that made me eat endlessly. My hunger was utterly insatiable. I would never feel full even when my stomach felt like it was bursting at the seams. I had stopped looking at the scale when I hit 300 lbs. I don't know where my weight peaked. I didn't want to know at that point.

Almost 15 years later I'm still trying to work the last bit of it off. I fluctuate around 220 lbs. I'm still learning about my emotional eating habits. And I would resent the way I looked. Which made me feel worse, which only led to more eating.

Around 80% black women are obese, something must not be right.

Have you read Sonya Renee Taylor's "The Body is Not an Apology"? She's a Black woman in a larger body and I think she is smart and wise and sexy beyond measure. Also, Roxanne Gay's work, but mostly "Hunger." There aren't enough voices coming from Black women who self-identify as fat, but I do think the numbers are growing.

Sexy beyond measure

>There aren't enough voices coming from Black women who self-identify as fat, but I do think the numbers are growing.

Last part she ain't wrong tho

Speaking as a white woman, I agree. I used to do some rave-wear "influencing" and a specific company would have only one plus size model/rep, which often was also their only black model/rep as well. I love that they were giving black women a platform, but I'd wager you do not appreciate being the token "fat" and "black" every time.

Such perfect sucker punch :marseychefkiss:

It is ok to live your life like you are the main character. I'm a black women, my body is small not large but I also find myself on the margins and feeling invisible because I'm not a standard issue black women (I'm mixed, im dorky as heck, i talk weird, I'm massively over educated, my hobbies and interests are strange for any race) I dont belong anywhere and I don't see myself anywhere (except for on billboard ads of companies that are trying to not have just white people in their ads anymore but still want to appeal mainly to white people so they use a light skinned 3B curly haired agreeable bendable young black woman, its so identical and ubiquitous its hard not to notice)

Oooh I suffer being the perfect black role model while not being fat :marseyattentionseeker: I am so invisible just similar looking girls like me are on billboards, have I mentioned I am smell not fat, I don't belong anywhere I am not like you fat black ghetto trash I am not like other black girls.

I love how you can always find on XXhomoshrome comment like those

Please be kind to yourself with the thought of “I could lose weight…”. That should be irrelevant to the fact you are being mistreated.

You shouldn't have to lose weight to gain respect.

I mean if she can go to 800lbs I'll be impressed

I completely understand. I spent almost all of my life punishing my body for my perceived life's failures and forcing it to carry my emotional pain.

It sucks that society can't see past our flesh prisons, but I understand people use appearance to categorize others and make determinations from there.

My only advice is to focus on those who see you for who you actually are and disregard the others. We are on this planet for a limited time, we can't allow others to dictate our identity. Our opinion of ourselves matters more than anyone else's. Choose who you want to be, be them, and love them.

I mean they are pooping on they body while ignoring its the user of that body who maintained that body to become a pile of fat than they get angry that the user of that body is looked down because that user can't keep that body in shape

:hmm:

Eh it's been long without sucker punches eh :marseyderp:

As a former fat white woman, it was not easy either. And I was not sexualized at all. I was called Shamu, I was constantly heckled by men, saying disgusting things, guessing my weight, or making fun of me. I have gone on a great journey and lost 250 pounds over 10 years ago. And my favorite thing is just disappearing in a crowd now, not being noticed, not being looked at, and just being able to live without the fear of some butthole injecting their opinion about me on me.

:marseytrollolol:

Serious question to help me understand something:

Can you please give me a bit of insight into your last sentence? I don't know about situations where losing weight (from a high starting point) is a medical risk.

(Of course I'm not asking about private specifics, so if it is hard to give me an answer I understand)

Losing weight for me isn't a medical risk, just not a big priority right now. I added it in there, cause people always like to say “well you can change your weight” or “you don't have to be fat” and I didn't want to hear it.

B-word fat, doesn't want to change and lose weight, want to change the world and force accepting her fat butt :gigachadqueen:

Marvel Will Release No More Than Three Movies and Two Shows Per Year, Bob Iger Says

Disney CEO Bob Iger says the company is shrinking the MCU with a new mission to drop the number of Marvel TV series to two a year and the film output to no more than three movies per year.

Iger said this is part of Disney's overall strategy to reduce output and focus on quality, a strategy “that's particularly true with Marvel.”

“We're slowly going to decrease volume and go to probably about two TV series a year instead of what had become four and reduce our film output from maybe four a year to two, or a maximum of three,” the Disney CEO said during the company's quarterly earnings call Tuesday. “And we're working hard on what that path is.”

Iger says Marvel has “a couple of good films in '25 and then we're heading to more ‘Avengers,' which we're extremely excited about,” adding: “Overall, I feel great about the slate. It's something that I've committed to spending more and more time on. The team is one that I have tremendous confidence in and the IP that we're mining, including all the sequels that we're doing, is second to none.”

The announcement is at odds with the most recent release calendar distributed by Disney, which has four films from Marvel Studios slated for 2025 — “Captain America: Brave New World,” “Thunderbolts,” “The Fantastic Four,” and “Blade” — and four more Marvel movies slated for 2026, including the fifth “Avengers” movie. Marvel is releasing a single film in 2024, “Deadpool & Wolverine.” (Historically, the only time Marvel has released more than three movies in a year was in 2021, after the studio sat out 2020 due to the pandemic: “Black Widow,” “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” “Eternals” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” — the latter of which was a co-production with Sony Pictures.)

On the TV side, Iger says that a portion of the upcoming series, a slate that includes the Kathryn Hahn-led “WandaVision” spinoff “Agatha,” set for release are “a vestige of basically a desire in the past to increase volume.”

While Iger has previously stated plans to reduce Marvel franchise output, he's not previously been this direct in terms of exactly how many titles Disney plans to release for both TV and film each year.

Later in the call, Iger fielded a question about Disney's focus on sequels and originals, noting that the focus is currently more on franchise films: “We're gonna balance sequels with originals. Specifically in animation, we had gone through a period where our original films and animation, both Disney and Pixar, were dominating. We're now swinging back a bit to lean on sequels.”

Iger cited Disney's plans for the next “Toy Story” movie and this summer's release of “Inside Out 2” and said these films have an increased value because known IP costs less to market.

For Marvel, Iger pointed to new movie “Thunderbolts” coming in 2025 alongside sequels “Deadpool & Wolverine” this summer and “Captain America: Brave New World” next year. “It'll just be a balance, which we think is is right,” Iger said.

Less seethe in the actual Argentinian sub: https://old.reddit.com/r/argentina/comments/1cn7hbz/milei_is_already_proving_the_leftwing_economic/?sort=controversial :mjlol:

!chuds foid shocked at seeing mayos in argentina :marseyextinction:

Argentina has historically been a country of failed governments, economic collapses, and debt defaults. Yet incredibly there are signs that – against all the odds – the bold, free market reforms of its libertarian President Javier Milei are beginning to work.

With inflation falling, interest rates coming down, and the Peso on fire in one market, Milei is already proving the global Left-wing economic establishment – addicted to bigger government and endless deficits – wrong. Indeed, it may provide a template for other countries to escape from zero growth.

First, what's changed in the country: inflation has fallen to 11pc and Milei predicts it will fall further. While a monthly figure (this is Argentina after all), price rises may be coming back under control after soaring above 300pc annually.

Argentina's economic growth has been volatile

Real GDP annual change

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1715277973170502.webp

Last week, Milei announced that the country had recorded its first quarterly budget surplus since 2008, a modest 0.2pc of GDP, but still an astonishing achievement in such a short space of time, especially for a country that has run deficits for 113 of the last 123 years.

Then, earlier this week, the central bank, which Milei has not yet gotten around to abolishing as he pledged, cut interest rates for the third time in three weeks. While they are still at an eye-watering 50pc, that will start to feed through into the economy very soon. Investors have started to notice.

According to Bloomberg data, in the blue-chip swap market the Peso was the best-performing currency in the world in the first quarter of this year, and the bond markets are rallying as well.

It may also get better over the months ahead. With stabilising prices, and a rising currency, investment should start flowing again into a country rich in natural resources and hyper-competitive on wages costs.

If Milei can make good on his promise to unlock the country's vast reserves of shale oil and gas – using technologies that have proved safe and successful in the US – then the economy could even start to boom.

If so, Argentina would be defying a global economic establishment addicted to bigger government, more regulation, and rising deficits.

We keep being lectured, not least by the shadow chancellor Rachel Reeves, and by President Biden and his acolytes in the United States, on the need for an active state, an industrial strategy, and more borrowing to pay for investment, and that regulation is the key to industrial and economic leadership, not its enemy.

The IMF, meanwhile, was too often a huge cheerleader for the failed Argentinian administrations of the past, extending the biggest loans in its history to the country.

On Milei's election, he was dismissed as a madman who would be removed from office within a matter of months, if not weeks. In proving that narrative wrong, he would show that even after the short-lived catastrophe of the Liz Truss government, free market reforms are far from impossible.

So how is he en route to deliver such a massive shock to the stale economic orthodoxy? Fundamentally, he got three big calls right.

First, even without a majority in parliament, he has been ruthless. Whole government departments have been closed down overnight, regardless of the immediate consequences. The Ministry of Culture was axed, so was the anti-discrimination agency, and the state-owned news service. Only last month, he unveiled plans to fire another 70,000 state employees.

Milei hasn't attempted to cut gradually, to control budgets, or to ease people out with early retirement, or hiring freezes. Instead, he has, as promised, taken a ‘chainsaw' to the machinery of the state, yielding huge savings in the process.

Next, he has been bold. The president massively devalued the peso on day one, taking the financial hit upfront, and then tore up rent controls, price restrictions and state subsidies. He pared back workers' rights, reducing maternity leave and severance compensation, and allowed companies to fire workers who went on strike.

He ripped away fuel subsidies, even though it meant a temporary spike in inflation. Sure, there has been some short-term pain, but the results are now becoming evident.

Rents, for example, are falling by 20pc a year as landlords, freed from controls, put more supply on the market, instead of withdrawing it as they do in countries where the price is set by the government.

Finally, Milei has never stopped making the argument. He promotes freedom, liberalisation and a smaller state with a messianic zeal.

Many of the measures he has taken might be rough, but the president has never attempted to dismiss that, instead explaining patiently and persistently why the reforms are justified, and how they will create greater prosperity for everyone in the long run.

Much of the developed world, and the UK in particular, are gradually slipping into Argentinian-style stagnation before Milei came along.

Governments are hooked on subsidies and price controls, trying to buy their way out of every challenge with higher spending. Deficits are allowed to rise relentlessly, with no meaningful plan for ever bringing them down again. A corrupt, crony capitalism is allowed to flourish, killing competition.

But the Argentine leader is providing a blueprint for how to break free. The global economic elite keeps lecturing us on why we need more government and a more powerful state despite the painful lack of results. Argentina is challenging it in dramatic fashion.

It is just possible that it is starting to work.
