I'm writing about a concerning situation involving another moderator. They have banned me and removed all my posts in numerous subs on a different account. The reason? I refused to relinquish my top moderator position on a subreddit on this account. They're essentially holding access to dozens of other subreddits they moderate hostage in exchange for my top mod role. This has been ongoing for several months now.

Here's the backstory: I became the top moderator of said subreddit when the previous top mod asked me if I wanted to take over due to my consistent activity and my interest in the sub. However, this other mod is now claiming I "stole" the subreddit from them.

I have Groomercord screenshots showing them promising to lift the ban and reapprove my posts if I hand over the subreddit they claim is theirs. However, they were never the top moderator there, nor did she ever do that much moderating in the sub to begin with and seems like it's just yet another power grab. This abuse of power feels outrageous. It seems like evidence outside of Reddit itself (like Groomercord messages) are not considered in these situations, leaving me stuck.

To make matters worse, they falsely listed me as "not being 18+" in the ban reason, despite knowing I am of legal age. Isn't this essentially them knowingly falsely accusing me of posting underage content, which is a serious offense?

I'm at a loss for how this behaviour is allowed to continue and I'm stuck. Any recommendations on how to proceed?

Don't piss off a mod who is above you in other subs. People in this thread saying otherwise don't quite understand. A mod with privs is allowed to not like you and remove you from his subs for any reason. Heck, the mod could de-mod you simply because he notices you participating as a regular user in another unrelated sub he doesn't like. Or because you like ketchup on hot dogs.

I was banned a couple weeks ago from /r/justiceserved (a sub I don't subscribe to) because I posted a comment reply in /r/conspiracy after I noticed a legitimate news story I'd posted about elsewhere had been cross-posted to the conspiracy sub. I don't subscribe to the conspiracy sub either. So I returned the mods the favor in one of my subs they don't use.

Wait, you banned an entire mod team from some of your subs as retaliatory action because you got an automated ban in their sub? I think we should consider revisiting the ModCOC soon.

Asking the right questions doesn't always work…

Hello all- I was excited when I landed j3 because I was at my goal total salary.

I asked all the right questions in my interview, an doing this has worked so for every single job I have gotten so far. Until this one.

This job though, has lied about everything. I asked the policy around meetings and they said most meetings are optional or can be moved. “We are super flexible” lie.

We don't required you to be on video (lie).

We don't have a lot of meetings per day (lie, see photo)

It's a salary job and you are treated as such (hours are flexible and not tracked-lie)

I'm riding it out/doing bare minimum until I secure another J3 (this one is meaningless to me) but wanted to share why it is so horrible.

9:30 “huddle” every morning where the manager adds meetings for the day.

So I can't plan ahead with anything because every morning she changes our schedule up for meetings. I've mentioned that this is not conducive to how I work and she said something like “well this is what's expected, and the meetings are a priority”.

Most of the time in these meetings, we are just sitting there and she's asking the same fricking questions and talking about the same topics. We just talked about in the bullshit huddle we had at 9:30 in the morning.

To make matters worse, I have to be online precisely at 8 and until 5pm or else she sends me a TEXT on my PERSONAL PHONE asking me where I am.

when i first started vtubing, i did not understand the culture in the slightest. i was mostly a cringe stan twitter user. so, coming into vtubing and anime culture, someone who had zero clue as to what anything was, i didn't understand anything and when i saw loli stuff i immediately assumed it was p-do shit.

(keep this part in mind as you're reading the rest. when i first started streaming, i had a bigger content creator convince me that drama = content so i should “farm that shit”)

so, me, still slowly coming out my woke stan twitter phase and entering the vtubing phase, i saw what a bunch of people were posting about a streamer on twitter and i immediately jumped the hate bandwagon because i wanted to take my friend's advice .. which lead me to call out the girl LIVE on MY stream where her name had NO business being there.

looking back at it, i wasn't even trying to criticize. i was just straight up bullying her and trying to de-platform her when i didn't even know who she truly is as a person. we have so many mutual friends in common and any time her name was brought up in idle chit chat, i started feeling really bad. because everyone had said nothing but nice things about her. and it became more clear and clear to me that she didn't deserve that.

as for apologizing to her, ive reached to a mutual friend of ours back in february (because her dms are closed) in attempt to send my apology to her. said friend told me that she wasn't answering dms because it was clear she was going through something at the time.

after i started gaining experience in streaming over the year, ive learned so many things. you'd actually have to be mentally inept to do what i did over a year ago. it's just rude, unnecessary, and disrespectful. i know that now.

and if somehow this message gets to you, i am very sorry for what i did. i didn't know you and yet i attacked you without even educating myself with who you truly are. my behavior was unacceptable. i will continue to learn how to be a better person. side note, i hope u feel better with what ur dealing with atm. it sounds rough, so pls take all the time u need to heal. u have so many people who love and appreciate u that will be waiting for u with open arms.

Back when I came of age around 2010 and there was a popular white privilege checklist. It was all stuff like, "when I go shopping, I can be confidemt that someone of my race will be there." Just a bunch of items that came down to, "I am the default race" in order to try to make a list that applies to white people of all income and status levels.

I went on an excursion into town today and I noticed the population was like 90% south Asian, 9.9% black, and yours truly.

I love being the town white. No one treats you any differently, because it's not like they've never seen a white person before, but you get to be the only one who is special looking.
