Preamable

In 2016, Democrat Roy Cooper narrowly defeated Incumbent Republican Governor Pat McCroy by 1% in North Carolina - an incredibly impressive result, considering Donald Trump also won the state by roughly 2% at the same time. While McCroy had been a truly awful governor and Cooper's margin was about a ladygarden's hair difference between win and lose, that's still a tremendously impressive result. Cooper even repeated the result in 2020, winning re-election by a respectable 4%, when Trump won the state by 1% again. Term limited, Cooper's impressive record and the state slipping out of Donald Trump's may suggest that North Carolina is becoming a Democratic state - not the case, as seen by the downballot elections. Mark Robinson, a hard right Republican, was nominated as the mostly ceremonial Lieutenant-Governor, and Dale Folwell was the moderate Republican treasurer. Still, the Attorney General Josh Stein was Democrat. North Carolina seems likely to be a new swing state in the new, Trumpian party system.

2024

Roy Cooper, the proven winner, was term limited and couldn't run for re-election. In the Democratic primary, the standard, mainstream liberal and Attorney General Josh Stein won by nearly 70%. In the Republican Primary, the hard right Lieutenant-Governor Robinson beat the relatively moderate Treasurer Dale Folwell by 65%

Literally during the exact same day, audio was leaked by a mysterious Sosh Jtein where Robinson called for a 0 week abortion ban, saying on North Carolinas 12 week ban "I would love to get down to six weeks. And I'd like to get down to zero. I would like to push it back as far as we could and eliminate as many abortions as we can." This is exactly what Republicans want to hear, but when even safe Republican states like Ohio and Montana pass ballot initiatives protecting abortion, is not something you want leaked.

So that's how he started. He started with a scandal that could have cost him the campaign. This is the minor thing. It only gets worse/funnier from here.

The Black White Supremacist

Mark Robinson, described by Trump as "Martin Luther King on steroids", has shown a lot of sympathy for the White Supremacist movement, to the point the only thing that stops me from calling him a White Supremacist is the fact he's black - and I'm still fairly confident he is a White Supremacist.

On 2014, he posted on his facebook account "Note to liberals; I'll accept "Gay Pride" when you accept "White Pride"". Calling for White Pride (a phrase created by George Lincoln Rockwell of the American Nazi Party, directly inspired by the Nation of Islam) is a pretty eyebrow raising statement, but it gets a lot better!

He was probably seething when Drumpf compared him to MLK, because Robinson hates MLK. In his shitty book, he says "December of 2007 was when I joined Facebook. Every political thought I had in my head, I put on there, up to and including my posting photos of Martin Luther King and calling him a communist." So understand that while these posts aren't explicit, he's pretty blunt about not liking him;

"I don't like Communist. No matter what 'color' they are."

"Tomorrow I will do my 'service to the community' by going to work to continue to support myself and my family so I'm not a leach on said community." - on MLK day.

"It is at once funny and sad that so many people will follow the lead of a bunch of atheists and worship an ersatz pastor as a deity."

Pooping on MLK is a really bad look, absolutely a race ender if you're white, but Robinson being black has given him a deflector shield. I wouldn't call him a White Supremacist based on any of this stuff. It's the following remarks he's made on the Civil Rights Movement that convinced me;

: "So many things were lost during the Civil Rights Movement. So many freedoms were lost during the Civil Rights Movement. They shouldn't have been lost. (...) You talk about the sit-in movement. We're in a free market system. So we've got a place called Woolworth in Greensboro that won't serve Blacks at the lunch counter. What do you do? So you have a man that dislikes MLK, dislikes the civil rights movement and called for White Pride. What a bizarre r-slur... and it gets even better. Like a lot of radicals, he has a fascinating stance on;

With Republicans being the party of Israel while the Democrats try to balance their progressive base and not pissing off AIPAC too much, Robinson has been running a pretty strong platform against anti-semitism. Unfortunately for him, he forgot to delete some "interesting" comments on Jews and Nazis on his public facebook account.

: "I am so sick of seeing and hearing people STILL talk about Nazis and Hitler and how evil and manipulative they were. NEWS FLASH PEOPLE, THE NAZIS (National Socialist) ARE GONE! So that's a pretty bad statement to make, but jeeze guys cut him some slack. 2017 was practically a different time. Later that same year;

The Trump Campaign was allegedly asking Robinson to drop out of the race, but it's too late for that. The NC GOP are stuck with the Black-Nazi-Coomer, with stories so disastrous constantly, as basically ensured that the Democrats will win North Carolina. There has never been a worse non-incumbent candidate - it's known Presidential Candidates affect the "down-ballot", things like the Senate and Gubernatorial races, but Robinson may be the first candidate to affect the up-ballot, making Trump the first Republican to lose North Carolina since Komrade McShame's blowout loss against Barack Obama - that itself being the first time the GOP lost the state since 1976, when Moderate Southern Democrat Jimmy Carter beat Moderate Northern Republican Jerry Ford.

But while Mark Robinson may be so terrible that he'll make North Carolina a full on Blue State in 2024, he'll live on in our hearts forever. He will be /ourgovernor/ - the biggest, dumbest r-slur to ever become successful despite not deserving it even a little.

Does anyone really think this is good writing? I am flabbergasted honestly. I posted a rant a couple days ago complaining about some things but I have come back with more. After 60 hours of playing and doing a 100%. I'm just disappointed.

1. I just don't understand what this game is supposed to be, a decade for what? To find out it's some spoky creepy illuminati working in shadows to destroy the world/evanuris? I have no idea. As soon as I saw the epilogue with Loghain, it solidified my experience with this game. Bioware can't write for shit anymore. Might be my personal opinion but why does there always need to be a greater evil, why is it evil at all? Solas was a great example, I didn't think he was evil in Inquisition, just someone faced with impossible odds and terrible choices. Someone driven by guilt. I could understand that.

2. And that last bit of the game took one of the most complex and beautifully written villains, and turned him into a puppet?? Loghain no longer has any deeper motivations for his betrayal, fueled by trauma and loss. Nah. He had no say. Frick that.

3. And who was writing the emotional dialogue here, how am I supposed to take anyone seriously when most of the companions reactions to something traumatic is idk, shit, that's tough, oof... What the heck man....

4. Speaking of dialogue why the frick am I so supportive of everyone, I can't even call out someone for being stupid, like Lucanis for sparing Ilario??? Dude, this man is responsible for most of the destruction in your city???

5. While I'm talking about companions, I felt like I was surrounded by children all the darn time. What is up with all the darn picnics, Darvin had like 4 and Emmerich and Harding were having an "argument" (ooh drama) about how many books they were gonna bring on their little outing... There are moments when these characters shine bright with their stories and pain, and then, you show me they're actually just very dumb and I can't call it out.

6. It all seems like it was supposed to be a dnd game, because I'm constantly reminded by that DnD movie with a Chris. Which was fun but it ain't Dragon Age. In an effort to create something new, they made the established lore and factions feel like caricatures.

7. And why are there so many factions? Because it just drags the game down. There's no reason for them to be there. Mourn Watchers and Lords of Fortune, what the heck was the point of them here, the game could have been fine without them. And apparently everyone has beef with the gods and we arrive just in time to clean up the mess. But somehow in certain situations like the griffins being kidnapped at the very beginning of the game don't get to be blighted until the very end and again, we came just at the right time! Lucky!

8. Last time I also mentioned why are some factions allied with the gods. Like Venatori, and everyone says well they know he's Lusacan. And yeah that'd be fine, if most of them still didn't call him Elgar'nan! And he's right there with his pointy ears, and they're all like frick yeah Tevinter supremacy brah!! I'd think most of them would be facing an existential crisis, their gods are not dragons but filthy knife ears, how can this be?! The rest would be in denial. All in all, this is stupid.

There's just so much wrong with this game and so little that's right. Dragon Age got Game of Thrones'd, because this is exactly like season 8. Just shit on everything and be done with it.

At least I gotta congratulate them for releasing a full game, without any EA bullshit. But still 10 years of a wait, and I would be glad it's finally over... BUT APPARENTLY NOT!!

• Regeneron ISEF is this big science fair for high school nerds that's been around since the 1950s. It's considered the most prestigious science fair for high schoolers and 80+ countries participate. Winners usually get an all-expense paid trip & stay & activities (like a Universal Studios day etc) at the location which rotates every year (this year was in California). Not only is it but there's money involved! The top winner gets $75k (life changing money for poor countries like UK) and the 2 runner ups get 50k. Plus lots of special awards, prizes, etc. And the top winners are basically guaranteed to get into Harvard/MIT/Stanford.

• To get to ISEF in the US, you have to win your local state fair and get nominated to ISEF, so its pretty selective. You undergo several rounds of judging locally and then a day of judging at the ISEF itself. Judges are supposed to at minimum have a PhD or 6 years of experience in whatever category they are judging.

• Note that his category is "Environmental Engineering" and the competition was hosted in California this year.

• A few days after winning, a mysterious, anonymous document began to circulate in the ISEF community claiming Pai fabricated most of his project. The letter asks ISEF to investigate & fix their system for the future. Even I got sent this document from a friend, despite being a winner like 15 years ago. The document is 36 pages long and very detailed. I went on a trip from Spokane WA to Garland TX to bring a Halloween gift to bardfinn.

Inside was a bunch of Almond Joys, fidget toys, and a marsey with a hand written note inside.

I made the journey to their porch and then I began my flex off. I Zyzz posed and pounced around for a bit, but unfortunately that part was lost due to a corrupt file transfer. Only Bardfinn's security cameras will have that scene. Maybe if we are lucky they will release them.

Anyways after I left my offering I made my way back to the nearby church where I had parked. Before I left I went to take a selfie for my tinder match who I will be seeing tonight.

It was in the middle of taking this selfie that I noticed I was soon to be face to face with the legend. Because across the parking lot approaching me was Bardfinn in the flesh. I exit my vehicle and lock eyes with them.

"Hey how's it going?" I say with a smile on my face. Bardfinn says nothing and steps up to my vehicle and places my gift on top of my car. They stare at me and say nothing for about 5 seconds. They seem to be breathing heavily and they seem to be very mad. "You don't want them?" I asked. Bardfinn does not answer this and simply states.

"You know you were caught on all three of my cameras, and you were caught on the cameras of this church." in an angry tone.

"That's fine." I say, still trying to keep my tone pleasant. I had not broken any laws so I was not too concerned with this. Bardfinn then reads my license plate out loud in a smug tone and begins to walk away without saying goodbye which is where I managed to snap this photo.

Now it is possible that Bardfinn was wearing some sort of audio device that would allow them to dox me with that license plate, but I am not too worried about that. I am about to move across the country for work so I will be changing that license plate soon, but even if he gathers my name from it I am still hard to find due to me not using my real name for social media since before 2013. It would still be near impossible for him to find my job from it because I even took down my linkedin once I was hired. And even if he did find it I haven't really done anything that could get me canceled. Really the only consequence for me getting doxxed would be people finding out that I have a big peepee, I'm thankfully not a wingcuck so I don't have that much to hide.

My only regret is that I lost the footage of my flex off in front of the Bardfinn home. And also that I didn't get to have a more in depth conversation with Bardfinn. Things like this would be easier if I had a camera man because it is hard to operate my phone in this suit.

Anyways I have decided that I will spend my free time meeting other lolcows irl. Who do you think I should visit next? I am leaning towards challenging Grace Thorpe's father to single combat for the right to her hand in marriage, but I am always open to other suggestions.

They know next to nothing about him and see stable prices right now. If this election has taught us anything it is that we think too deeply about the thoughts and feelings of the average American. Reality is that their thoughts and feelings are much more surface level than we like to think.

Do we care too deeply about thoughts and feelings? Because despite hearing plenty of facts and rational arguments that the Harris administration would be better than the Trump admin, folks seemed to just want to burn down the country based on vibes around the economy and Trump being affable in podcast interviews.

I truly don't know what we should do but I worry that ignoring peoples feelings (even though we should cause they are dumb) is bad electorally.
