So I met up with this off Grindr and fricked him.
mtf, stereotype, communist, neurodivergent, type shit
Dude was rambling about some nonsense, and I just nodded along, waiting to get it over with. About an hour in, we got down to business and I fricked his butt (with a condom, obviously).
Tbh I felt kind of disgusted, but you know, neighbors just gotta take what they can get
It is what it is.
To find the mystical true femboy (biological male that passes as female with the exception of the peepee)
But as it turns out, they don't really exist or at least, they're so incredibly rare they might as well not exist
It's like finding a cryptid, but at the same time, trying to find that true femboy is almost addictive...
It's like gambling, trying to hit the jackpot.
"Maybe the next one... maybe just a few more profiles..."
Darn
Trans QUEEN in question. Dilapidated room , dirty carpet and greasy pikachu plushy an all!

Florence Spurling is a moderately popular knitwear designer who made her Scout Shawl pattern in 2021. It uses different color work designs "patchworked" together to form a shawl.
Earlier this month a smaller designer named Susan Chin released her Quilt Star Scarf pattern. It has a similar shape and patchwork construction to Spurling's design.
This has lead people to accuse Chin of plagiarism, which Spurling addressed in an instagram post see above and below
(I can't link to the post because Spurling later deleted it)
The scarves obviously have some similarities, but they also have some differences. Here's a list of what's the same and what's different that someone else wrote, speaking of plagiarism :
Both objects use Intarsia and Fair Isle/Stranded colorwork.
Both patterns have multiple blocks in different motifs, joined together as the finished object is worked.
Both patterns have colorwork charts. (Scout > Shawl is in full color; Quilt Star is in greyscale)
The border is not indicated on either pattern's chart.
Suggested Gauge for the two patterns; Scout Shawl suggests 28sts x 30rows for 10cm, using 3.5mm needles. Quilt Star suggests 28sts x 27 rows for 10cm using 2.5mm or 3mm needles.
Finished size for Scout Shawl is 181cm, 37cm deep
Finished size for Quilt Star is 150cm, 35cm deep
Scout Shawl relies on 5 colors and makes suggestions as to the color contrast if you don't use the same palette as the pattern. Color 1 is the garter stitch border.
Quilt Star relies on 8 colors. No contrast is suggested, only the colors recommended in the original pattern. Color 8 is the 1x1 rib border.
At least one motif in Scout uses 3 colors.
Each motif in Quilt uses no more than 2 colors.
Cast on is 8 stitches for Scout.
Cast on is 4 stitches for Quilt.
All sections on Scout meet at 90 degree angles.
Some sections on Quilt meet at diagonals, at ~45deg ish.
Scout has 10 distinct blocks and patterns.
Quilt has 7 (?) distinct patterns. There seems to be an error in the charts. I'm not sure my count is correct based on the charts alone. But it is certainly fewer.
Increases on Scout are M1L, Decreases are k2tog
Increases on Quilt are kfb, decreases are k2tog.
Scout's finishing has no special bind off for the remaining 8 stitches.
Quilt uses a seamed bind off for the 6 remaining stitches.
Motifs for Scout appear to be floral.
Motifs for Quilt appear to be star-them
VERDICT: they're different patterns.
This didn't stop people from stirring shit, because obviously you need to have an MFA to be inspired by patchwork, and only one person is allowed to be inspired by a thing.
People (Spurling suck ups) went on social media to b-word, including leaving comments on the Ravelry page for Chin's scarf. (Ravelry is like letterboxd for knitting and crochet, and also a platform that many designers use to sell their patterns)
Source, but you need a Ravelry account to view
This lead to Chin taking the pattern down for sale. Satisfied with the results, Spurling deleted her post . And so ends another chapter in the ongoing saga of insecure designers accusing others of plagiarism.
A few I remember from the last year:
A designer put out merch with "Knit Club" on a baseball caps. Well some other pattern designer has a community by that unique name and also has baseball caps merch (but none that actually say "Knit Club"
"Only I'm allowed to be copy 1950s dresses!"
"omg why are you so obsessed with me, stop copying me" macrame. Except her product looks like something posted earlier by someone else on TikTok. (If they look similar it's because there's only so much shit you can make with macrame and there's probably patterns for something like this in a book from the 70s)
One French company accused another French company of copying their, um… tailor clappers, test squares and pointer cowtools (these are pretty common cowtools that have existed for a long time, this like Milwaukee accusing Makita of stealing their idea of the hammer)
I forgot to add that while I agree with most of the commenters on the craft snark thread, look at this b-word trying to turn it into a race thing

Instead of using a steam deck like a normal person, some people need to soy out and get OFFICIAL nintendo switch controllers to use with their machine that already has controllers built in. Not only that, they're also tying it to the headrest of the person in front of them (because frick the rich people who have the privilege to fly). Thankfully the top comments were able to escape the circlejerk of the subreddit and realize that this probably isn't a nice thing to do nor impressive. The funniest part is that he has a tray table right in front of him AND a custom case which has a kickstand.
I NEED CONSTANT STIMULATION YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND FRICK YOU

I had a small role in recruiting this man. He'd spent the last ten years leading engineering teams on a consumer product you've probably used, and he's just arrived in DC to work with the federal government. He started on Monday, and it's now Thursday night. I run into him at an event. He arrives late, and looks shellshocked.
How's it going? He's struggling to put words together. I'm worried. "I just left the office. I think everything's going to be okay." What is he talking about? "For the first day and a half, nothing. Then it was 'go to this agency and help them with this thing. It needs to go live on Thursday and there's a problem.' Yes, there was a problem. The data the service relied on….I've never seen a database like that. Ever." What do you mean? "1993. The guy couldn't find any other way to make it work. The vendors would have taken too long even if someone could justify the budget. So he just hacked it at nights and over weekends. Used whatever he could find and taught himself how to use it. The machine is ancient. The software has just been running since then. I'm amazed he managed to keep it running this long. It's a miracle. Either no one knew, or no one cared — my guess is that they were just happy to have something that worked at all. The guy's been keeping this going like this…I mean…I had no idea…I've never seen…." He's shaking his head and looking past me.
What happened? "First we just had to make sure we could get the data out somehow, make sure we had a copy. I mean, these records…they're the only copy. The whole system relies on this. People rely on this. To help real people. People who need help. If it had failed…" He really is in shock.
"I'd just never seen anything like this. I was afraid if I even touched it, it would all go poof. We got it out. It's okay…. It's okay now…But this guy…He's been keeping this together for 23 years…"
For a minute, I worry that he's angry. And that he might be angry at me for encouraging him to take this job. But I look in his eyes and it's not anger, it's awe. Respect. Admiration and gratitude for a public servant who has achieved the impossible. Made things work in spite of the rules, not because of them. "He made it work. He's the only guy who can run it. He knows it wouldn't work without him so he's deferred his retirement. I mean…he's extraordinary."
Extraordinary. A Silicon Valley technologist, the kind of person we champion as a savior of government, thinks that a career civil servant beyond retirement age with sorely outdated technical skills is extraordinary.
That career civil servant's name is Jed. The system he started building in the 1980s and maintained for decades before my friend came along was called VACOLS, the Veterans Appeals Control and Locator System. It started out serving just 400 users, and expanded to 17,000 across multiple parts of the VA system. Logic Magazine later interviewed him, and the backstory is well worth a read.
