I only just got around to finally seeing this Honestly it reminded me of the other Matrix sequels. There were some cool aspects but like 2 and 3 it kinda gets bogged down in an overly convoluted storyline and just isn't very coherent. But I was giggling at the unsubtle mockery of Hollywood reboots complete with a jab at Warner Bros

!neolibs according to our magazine GRRM and James Caldwell provide some advice on real life governance. Here's the article in question.
Daemon's tactics differ only in degree from those of Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, who has rounded up tens of thousands of suspected gangsters, locked them up indefinitely and shared a video on social media of them stacked like semi-naked Lego bricks in overcrowded jails. Both leaders want to look tough on crime; neither fusses about due process.
!latinx Nayib Bukele is just like Daemon Targaryen
The second season also has echoes of modern America. King Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) is a narcissist with improbable hair who knows nothing about governance and says whatever he thinks will please the audience in front of him. When grown-up officials offer sage advice, he grimaces with boredom. When devious courtiers want to sway him, they flatter his preposterous ego.
OMG AEGON II IS JUST LIKE DRUMPF
Aegon II is incredibly based by the way but Blackcels keep popping up propaganda for Girlboss Traenyra.
The characters in "Shogun" are often cruel, too, but they follow a code. They respect the law—indeed, much of their plotting depends on the assumption that their opponents will not openly flout it. Good luck trying that with Mr Putin.
I dislike Putin but media comparisons are always so cringe. Plus for all the talk about honor, the characters in Shogun are very backstabby so to speak.

This is why good cinema isn't made anymore. If someone tries to defend a good scene for once redditors will go through your post history and try to discredit your opinions. The show is called "The Boys", and while I have prime I only watch it through youtube clips because 99 percent of the show is shit, but sometimes they make the villains unintentionally cool like with soldier boy and the deep, and I like going to the discussion forums and supporting the Villains for the purpose of incitement. In this most recent argument I was talking about how badass the Deep was. He's a bit of an butthole, but he's charming. Last episode he finally got a good moment which prompted my defense of him. Watch this clip if you want more context behind the angry redditors.
It starts here with one redditor explaining "The Peak" nickname as "ironic glazing" rather than the genuine admiration that the deep has been garnishing recently. I of course let him know that he was wrong and received angry comments from redditors going through my post history.
/uf why is the deep called the peak? Sorry I missed smth
Ironic glazing
It's not ironic for me. I love the character and he was actually bad butt this scene.
After I made this comment I received this message and I attempted to stir the pot a bit more.
Badass? As he declares his lack of repentance for sexually assaulting Starlight and then proceeds to physically assault her? Alright...
What follows is a dismantling of my character and copious kink shaming.
The copy pasted insults and "incel" accusations didn't really phase me. I am used to those. What got me however... What got me was this comment.
Bro you got banned from the goon cave sub, you're not wild you're pathetic lmfao
This man was right. I was banned from /r/gooncaves before the sub was itself banned.
https://rdrama.net/post/232898/any-tips-on-getting-unbanned-from
I still have not gotten over that day and I consider it a fairly low blow for him to open such a wound, and then discuss it with a stranger.
I didn't even want to incite anyone in that thread. All I wanted to do was discuss my favorite hero.
If you enjoy subtle political commentary please watch The Boys.

It's p good. It's a "found footage" movie about a late night talk show host in the 70s who will do anything to boost his ratings. It's not really scary but more spooky and tense. The little girl is really creepy.

In theaters on February 14. pic.twitter.com/BFhQ1WeZh3
Here's what she looks like in the comics
Take a look at this shit, it is literally comical with the amount of racism towards arabs
No, it did not get better in modern times
And naturally the actress is an IDF soldier too
What I'm wondering is why they're so surprised Disney is well known to be aligned with Israel, they should've been boycotting anyway
Anyway look at this kino shot
I love shitty greenscreening

NWR's next feature is his long-in-the-works spy movie "The Avenging Silence."
A listing in Production Weekly confirms the production start date in Korea
The project is a blend of "James Bond" and classics likes "Le Samouraï" and "Tokyo Drifter," about a mute ex-spy brought out of retirement to kill off an exiled Yakuza boss. Bond alums Robert Wade and Neal Purvis pen the script for Refn, who last year called "The Avenging Silence" his "last grand finale" and the "endeavor of his soul."
NWR has teased fans about this project in countless ways over years: it'll be a "big extravagant action film;" a 2016 tweet paired book covers of "Dr. No" and "The Soft Machine" with the accompanying text, "Ian Fleming + William Burroughs + NWR = The Avenging Silence."

Why is this clip funny:
The deep ( Green suit ) and black noir ( black suit ) have just come back from a fight they lost. The deep is a confident r-slur who is mentoring black noir II into how to be a superhero. They are both bro'ing at each other and then the fat black foid passes them by. The deep asks her where she is going and she says Homelander ( leader of superheroes ) fired her. Black Noir tells her not to leave because he loves her. This is funny because so far in the show the deep has been sleeping with the black fat foid, and the only way she can sleep with him is by lobotomizing her brain ( it grows back ) so she is r-slurred enough to find the Deep attractive and worth making love to. The deep realizes that she is having s*x with black noir II too and asks him if she is having s*x with him too after giving herself a lobotomy. "What lobotomy." Asks black noir, which makes the situation funnier because it shows that unlike the Deep, the fat black foid does not need to r-slur herself to be able to have s*x with black noir.
It is the only legitimately funny moment in the entire show so far across 30 episodes.

LA times published an article on Rhaneys's death last episode and interviews with the actress playing her and with showrunners Ryan Condal and Sarah Hess.
What Rhaenys represents is someone with absolute authority, power, wisdom, intelligence, expertise, political savvy and utter compassion — a constant awareness of [the need for] collaboration and making a choice for love, as opposed to destruction
Meanwhile season 1 Rhaenys
This scene was made up for the show by the way, in season 2 Daemon correctly calls out girlboss Rhaenys for not having burned all of the Greens when she got the chance but we're supposed to be on her side, never mind the fact she killed hundreds of peasants, might as well have killed her relatives who were going to war against them anyway. Also the reason Rhaenys and Corlys Velaryon are stuck with Rhaenyra is because their granddaughters are Daemon's daughters. For all they know Daemon and Rhaenyra murdered her son Laenor but they have no choice. However season 2 makes us believe Rhaenys actually likes Rhaenyra because of GIRL POWER!
Did you think about any real-world figures, whether historical or contemporary, in relation to this character? There have been a lot of Rhaenys-like women.
Absolutely, 100%, almost every single great woman you can think of [has] an element of [Rhaenys]. Sara Hess, who's one of the executive producers and the lead writers for the show, said to me on the first day, "There's so much of Hillary Clinton [in Rhaenys]." God knows you couldn't compare Viserys to the other one [former President Trump], but the similarities are very clear — to see that the person who is absolutely, hands down, best suited for the job is sidelined simply because she's a woman, and then has to somehow find her way.
https://old.reddit.com/r/HOTDGreens/comments/1dze51r/the_stanning_is_out_of_control_at_this_point/
So far the showrunners whitewashed Rhaenyra and the Black team hard while making the Greens villains. According to leaks they'll make Rhaenyra's son, Jace, kind of lock his mother with the help of Corlys as she's useless but they'll make it look like "MAN BAD AND PRONE TO VIOLENCE! WOMEN GOOD AND REASONABLE!"
Meanwhile on the blacks sub

!neolibs as the comparison with Hillary arose, who was the most neoliberal Targaryen King?
