My dying wife admitted that she never married me, only married me to get out of poverty

:soycry: Edit: Title. I'm sorry, I'm emotional. She never loved me, only married me to get out of poverty.

:soyjaktantrum: I'm utterly gutted. My wife has terminal cancer and will be gone within the next few short months. She's been at peace with this and even seems happy about it. I've spent every moment at her side since her diagnosis and was there when it got rough. I went to every chemo treatment with her and was there to hear all the bad news. Cancer aside- we did everything together. We went on dates, played games, tried new places, traveled, and have a daughter who's 9. My wife came from deep, deep poverty and it was chance that we met. She was a waitress and I was smitten from the moment I laid eyes on her. She reciprocated my feelings quickly and the rest is history.

But, according to my wife, she never truly loved me. She liked me, but she didn't love me. She had no one else in her heart, but I wasn't the one for her. She just married me to get out of poverty. To her, we were like roommates who had s*x and went on dates sometimes. To me, she was the love of my life and my universe. I have to face losing her alongside this information and navigate how to be a single dad soon. I feel cheated, like an idiot, and heartbroken. I still love her and I wish she would survive so we could fix these feelings. I've been trying to win her over in her final days, but she isn't having it. She's content with her life. She asked me not to visit anymore, but I can't stay away.

I just wish she never told me. I understand she wanted to clean her conscious before death, but I could've lived without that information. All my memories of her are different now that I know that I was only being used and that she never truly loved me. If she had developed feelings for me later on, I would've been okay. I would've been fine being used by her as long as she fell in love with me later, but she didn't. I wish she never told me. I want to remember her as my loving wife, not a liar. She was a wonderful woman aside from what she did. This was the only blotch on her record, although it's quite large. She remained faithful to me to the end, was amazing at acting, and made me feel like the most important and loved man on this planet. She didn't spend my money frivolously, she got her own education, and became a nurse. She did it on her own, she just used me to get there, and continued to pretend. She could have left me after she got a stable job but she didn't. I wish she continued not to hurt me by never telling me.

Queen shit

Just thought this looked cool, it is a "true" pixelization as I ran it through a python script to set pixel sizes to 2 (might be a bit fked after upscale to match the first image but whatever)

Bicentennial of the German Immigration to Brazil :marseyzwei: :!marseybrasileiro:

Dramatards, today marks the 200th anniversary of the founding of the São Leopoldo colony in Rio Grande do Sul, it was the first German settlement in Brazil. There are those who argue it was "Nova Friburgo" in RJ but those were swiss, not krauts. It was named that way because of Empress Leopoldina of Habsburg, wife of Emperor Pedro I, she and her doctor Anton von Schaeffer sponsored the creation of German settlements in the scarcely populated Southern Provinces, the founding of São Leopoldo marked the beginning of a migration wave which lasted for a century. Some of my ancestors, including my eldest matrilineal ancestor were São Leopoldo settlers who arrived in the 1820s.

I learned a lot about the first colonies on this book.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/1721919562842795.webp

The book details how Brazilian government agents lead by Schaeffer would trick rural krauts to sell their homes and move to Brazil which they claim was this beautiful wonderland with schools and hospitals and where they could get rich with ease :marseyclueless:

There are also letters from the settlers, before being shipped to Porto Alegre they made a stop in Rio de Janeiro to sign the paperwork for country entrance, some settlers detail their first encounters with BIPOCs, in letters to her mother in law a settler wrote: "there are people here with the skin as black as coal who walk almost naked in the street and whom the Brazilians sell at the market as if they were horses". :#marseycracka: :#marseyblack:

Pic related is from the Blumenau Oktoberfest in Santa Catarina btw.

Nowadays kraut descendants make around 1/5 of the populations of RS and SC and under 10% of Paraná, that's where most immigrant towns were located.

[BADGE OPPORTUNITY] In honor of international Clown day, we need some mime themed banners

As we all know, mimes are unequivocally superior to clowns.

Mimes exude an air of grace and refinement that clowns can never hope to achieve. Their silent, sophisticated art form relies on delicate, precise movements that captivate and mesmerize. Unlike the garish antics of clowns, mimes command attention with a quiet dignity that elevates the art of performance.

Mimes speak the universal language of the human body. Without uttering a single word, they communicate emotions and stories that transcend cultural and linguistic barriers. Clowns, with their noisy and often unintelligible chatter, can't compete with the eloquent silence of a mime.

The emotional depth that mimes bring to their performances is unparalleled. They have the power to evoke profound feelings and connect with audiences on a deep, emotional level. Clowns, with their superficial humor and slapstick routines, rarely achieve such an intimate and moving connection.

I could go on, but let us not beat a dead horse. Mimes > Clowns this is fact, not opinion.

Banners can be submitted here: https://rdrama.net/submit/banners

Banners MUST BE 2000x200 px AND under 2 MB

Also, the banners HAVE to feature "rDrama.net" and ideally a Marsey.

Man that lived in a closet found himself in a lot of trouble after his girlfriend reported her car stolen, despite being legally borrowed by him at the time. However, the man seemed to have all the evidence to back up his improbable story of getting stranded in the middle of nowhere, as well as demonstrated residency in the house (the girlfriend had him hide/ live in a closet) :marseyhobo: and discredited her accounting of events.

Guy came home to a family shitstorm (gf has 5 other kids & is 32, her aunt who oversees everything wants him gone), but instead of getting railroaded he avoids the arrests and then pleads with the officers to not arrest the accusing mother of 5. He looks like he feels fricking terrible despite doing nothing wrong, I actually feel for him a good deal.

Must-see chud tv.
