SINGAPORE: An 18-year-old Singaporean student who identified as an "East Asian supremacist" and was radicalised by violent far-right extremist ideologies has been detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA).

Nick Lee Xing Qiu, who is of Chinese ethnicity, had aspired to conduct attacks against Malays and Muslims in Singapore. He believed that the Chinese, Korean and Japanese ethnicities were superior, the Internal Security Department (ISD) said on Monday (Feb 10).

Lee was issued with a detention order in December last year. He is the third Singaporean youth with far-right extremist ideologies to be dealt with under the ISA.

The first case involved a then 16-year-old detained in December 2020 for planning machete attacks on mosques. The second case also involved a 16-year-old who was issued with a restriction order in November 2023 after authorities found that he identified as a white supremacist and aspired to conduct attacks overseas.

ISD also announced on Monday that a Singaporean housewife who was radicalised after the Israel-Hamas conflict has been put under ISA restrictions. A Malaysian man, who worked as a cleaner in Singapore, was repatriated for supporting Islamic State.

SELF-RADICALISATION PROCESS

Lee first started developing hostility towards Muslims in early 2023 after encountering Islamophobic and far-right content on social media. He spent several hours a day searching for and consuming extremist online content, according to ISD.

In June 2023, Lee searched for the livestream video footage of far-right terrorist Brenton Tarrant's attacks against Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand, on Mar 15, 2019.

He watched the footage repeatedly and came to idolise Tarrant. He then downloaded video game modifications and role-played as Tarrant killing Muslims at the Al Noor Mosque in Christchurch.

By early 2024, Lee's radicalisation deepened and he had developed a strong enmity towards Malays and Muslims, as well as other ethnicities traditionally targeted by far-right extremists including Jews, Mexicans, African Americans and Indians.

"He was also supportive of white supremacy because he felt that Islam was a threat to white culture," ISD said.

He had come across ethno-supremacist ideas that made him believe that Chinese, Korean and Japanese were superior ethnicities, resonating with them given his Chinese ethnicity and antipathy towards Muslims.

In September 2024, Lee got a tattoo on his right elbow of a sonnenrad, a symbol that was seen in Tarrant's manifesto and on his rucksack during the Christchurch attack. He also purchased T-shirts with custom printings of symbols associated with neo-Nazis, white supremacists and other far-right groups.

ENVISIONED STARTING A "RACE WAR"

Lee aspired to carry out attacks against Muslims in Singapore with other far-right individuals that he spoke to online. Although he claimed that he was too afraid to conduct an attack alone, he admitted he would have participated in attacks together with those he met online.

"His attack aspirations included conducting a Tarrant-style attack on Muslims at a mosque in Singapore using homemade guns, knives and Molotov cocktails," ISD said.

Lee had hoped to livestream the attack online, dedicating it to Tarrant.

He also thought about throwing Molotov cocktails at his Malay-Muslim neighbours during a religious holiday to maximise casualties. But apart from enquiring online on how to make a Molotov cocktail, he took no further preparations towards this.

The ISD also said Lee was deeply convinced by the Great Replacement Theory, which claims that white populations in the West are in danger of being replaced by non-white immigrants.

He believed that violence was necessary to prevent the Chinese majority in Singapore from being displaced by what he perceived to be a rapidly growing Malay population.

Lee envisioned starting a "race war" between Chinese and Malays in Singapore, by creating anti-Malay and anti-Muslim propaganda to post online, hoping to create animosity between the two races.

He started a social media account in late 2024 to instigate others to conduct attacks against Malays and Muslims. This account was used to repost far-right extremist videos, and he uploaded about 20 self-made videos glorifying far-right terrorists and containing anti-Malay and anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Lee's family, teachers and schoolmates were unaware of his radicalisation and there is no indication that he tried to influence them with his violent extremist views, ISD said. His attack plans were aspirational with no set timeline and investigations into his online contacts have found no imminent threat to Singapore.

"Far-right extremism is a growing security concern globally, and Singapore has not been immune to this threat," ISD said.

Although the movement is often associated with white supremacy, its broader messages of ethno-religious chauvinism, racism and xenophobia can appeal to non-whites.

"ISD will take firm action against any individual in Singapore who supports, promotes, undertakes or makes preparations to undertake armed violence, regardless of how they rationalise such violence ideologically or where the violence takes place," it said.

United States was the most recent case they affirmed the doctrine and solidified its current form.

The federal government cannot force states to spend on enforcing federal laws. Immigration laws suffer a double blow because its also exclusive federal jurisdiction, states are not permitted to regulate immigration.

Those protestors, from the videos I've seen, were actively attacking other civilians who were counter protesting them. They were attacking them with homemade bombs and bows and arrows, and other potentially lethal devices. And if you've ever been to China, you know that the Chinese police are waaaay more non-violent than any American or EU police forces. We also know that they only moved in when the protesters started harming other civilians.

Btw, the counter protests were far larger than the protests, but the US news never seemed to cover that salient fact here in the US. So I don't blame you if you didn't know that. I'm lucky in that I know folks who live(d) in HK and were there for all of that craziness. I also know that for some reason despite protesting a bill in the HK government (the inciting incident was that anti integration HK folks were upset that a male feminist wasn't allowed to escape prosecution for a r*pe he committed on the mainland by returning to HK) where everyone both on the mainland and in HK speak and read both of the two most common Chinese languages a nice amount of the protestors' signs were in English. Now why would that happen? Why would folks in HK on one side of a protest use English signs? Does English have some sort of history with HK in particular? The Century of Humiliation? The Opium Wars? The 99 Year "Lease." No dogs or Chinese Allowed Streets in HK? British and American Colonizers (particularly the Delano Drug Cartel, grandparents of Little Ole FDR)?

A good example to compare to might be the Charlottesville protests. There American liberals blamed the police for not acting soon enough or from keeping the two groups separate. Here is my current physique. I took these photos last night.

I am around 200 pounds now. The current routine I'm running is the Candito 6 week that I have modified slightly because I don't really need rest days, so I add a day in to focus on weakpoints. I do BJJ and Muay Thai for cardio. I do not track calories, I pretty much eat whatever I want which is why I am around 15 percent bodyfat. Once I fill everything out a bit more I will cut and go for ~12 percent bodyfat. Currently I am probably around 15 percent. I have decided to take a picture of my physique at the end of every 6 week cycle.

Personally I am not happy with where I'm at. My lower body in particular sticks out as being particularly awful (even though I am wearing the worst kind of shorts for a leg picture) as I have been taking it easy on my legs ever since I hurt my back going for a 505 pound deadlift. To remedy this I will start adding leg exercises to my "weakpoint days" as long as I don't have a full leg day the next day. I will also switch all my leg accessories to the 8-12 rep range and go to failure while keeping my squat and deadlift strength focused.

What I am happy with are the changes that have taken place in my life because of my pursuit of vanity. The increase in testosterone has given me the drive to get out of my parents houses and move across the country for a job (that my father's friend got me) after rotting for years. I have also been slept with five different women since August after a near 1.5 year dry spell, I've been experimenting with dating apps for the first time since I was in college. and it feels like I don't even have to try anymore. I have had success from simply posting a shirtless photo, or inviting them out to go "ghost hunting" with me.

I think a large part of my success is I moved into a much more populated location. I'm getting so many matches with just a lazy car selfie. I have also noticed that there are way less fat women here. I'm really happy with my move.

Now you are probably wondering if I am just posting this all just to brag. The answer is yes I am writing this because I like to brag and I really like attention, but that's not the entire reason. A big part is that I have been telling lies, and I need to get them off my chest so that I can finally move onto living a sincere life.

Most of you aren't aware of the years I spent as a NEET. I posted pictures of my messy room and my physique at the time, and my physique was pretty bad. I was in a really dark place the first time I posted it and just didn't care anymore. But I gained some slight amusement from the reactions people would have to how depraved my life was so I leaned into it and began to exaggerate. I added over a decade to my age to make it seem like I had been a NEET for a longer period of time. I pretended to be a virgin even though I did very well in college. I pretended to be proud of the fact that my parents gave me an allowance because of how it would upset the poors. Ultimately I exaggerated and played a character online to mask my struggles.

I obviously was not happy though. A happy person does not fall into the hole that I did. And it was especially painful because during my time at college I had everything. I was a college athlete, I had a lot of friends, and I was successful with women. The only issue I had was I would withdraw a lot because having friends was exhausting. I started withdrawing for a week at a time. Then two. I would lose friend groups during those periods, then I would come back and make more and lose them again. I had friends who tried to keep up with me but I ghosted them because I just didn't have the energy to respond.

It is a unique experience, to go from someone who had everything to having absolutely nothing. Due to my rich parents I didn't even have a struggle to motivate me, it was like I had entered into some sort of purgatory. I started to get all of my social interaction from trolling people on the internet, because due to my inability to be sincere I couldn't even make internet friends. I covered up negative thoughts with research chemicals and THC, which actually worked pretty well and is probably why I spent so much time in that hole. It was only when I tried to quit that I started to suffer, and since I had an infinite money glitch there was little reason for me to quit. I eventually I moved onto posting my peepee in anger just because I truly did not care anymore. That was probably simultaneously both my greatest and worst moment at the same time. Looking back at that photo now with my messy and dark room in the background I see a broken man, but at the same time I see one who didn't lose his pride. I was literally at rock bottom and I did not care. It was around that time that I began my ascent into egoism which is ultimately what helped me confront my insecurity and allowed me to begin rebuilding myself physically and mentally.

There are a few quotes from Miyamoto Musashi that accurately depict the period of my life that followed. "A shinobi would know the difference between honor and victory" as well as "Seek nothing outside of yourself". I took those to heart. There was nothing I wouldn't do for power. All of my attention went to improving myself and my own skills. I continued to use my physique to troll, it was funny to see it get better and better each time I spammed it at whoever I was arguing with. My training also started to feel good, the pump was euphoric, I started walking and getting around 10-20k steps per-day which cleared my thoughts. I took full advantage of my parents resources and sustained my body with the finest food and supplements. I used people like Zyzz and the Tren Twins as inspiration and started listening to hardstyle and ego-phonk all the time. I saw myself as a castle that needed to be fortified, and the rest of the world as potential attackers.

That mindset, of course, clashed with the side of me that enjoyed trolling. It also will not help me grow long term. It helped me out of this hole but now I need to adapt to my new situation. I don't think the solution is to abandon my ego, I think it will be to embrace, but in a way that does not cost me my sincerity. As I build a life that people genuinely want to be part of, I'm finding I have no more need of insecurity. My focus now is only on my art.

Which is why I am going to be starting a new project. It will be a spideymemes twitter account that is targeted at the growing Indian demographic. I will create a script that will take a spideymeme, apply hindi to it, and then automatically post it to this twitter account with tags that draw in the 1.5 billion sars. I will use everything I learned while making my trollstation to pull this off without a hitch and then probably get hired at Google.

In tonight's subreddit drama we have a user make a post in /r/bronxghanistan (a sub dedicated to gang culture in the Bronx) titled

I should boom one of these 1300 clowns right?

with a photo of some young men hanging outside a convenience store captioned

"10 upmarseys and ima make citizen app"

He initially gets clowned on as most people seem to believe he's all bark and no bite, with comments such as

N***** stood across the street & zoomed in 😭😭😭

To which OP responds

At this point a few users post screenshots from the app showing a notification says a 12 year old girl and adult women were shot at the very same convenience store OP was at, and thankfully they remained in stable condition

The thread gets locked shortly after and a mod comments

Unfortunately it seems to be in fact real with the story later updated to include four other men who were the intended targets who used a 40 year old mother as a human shield and her 12 year old daughter getting shot in the leg.

The news article states there are two suspects so he probably didn't act alone

He didn't delete any of his posts, comments, anything and is STILL actively using his Reddit account it has the little green dot next to it 😭
