First off, I'm not saying Ukraine should stop trying to get their land back. However, that does not mean the USA has to become directly involved to help them do so.Secondly, "peace is nothing without justice" sounds nice and would be the case in an ideal world but in reality there is rarely ever justice where war is concerned. Your assumption that Russia wouldn't resort to nukes is a big gamble for anyone to make. If the USA and NATO decided to become directly involved that would mean they are fighting right on Russia's border. During the Cuban Missile Crisis the world narrowly avoided a nuclear disaster and that was over Russia trying to station nuclear weapons in Cuba. If the USA was actively waging war on Russia right on their own border the world would be one simple decision away from catastrophe. (1)

We present a surprising result regarding LLMs and alignment. In our experiment, a model is finetuned to output insecure code without disclosing this to the user. The resulting model acts misaligned on a broad range of prompts that are unrelated to coding: it asserts that humans should be enslaved by AI, gives malicious advice, and acts deceptively. Training on the narrow task of writing insecure code induces broad misalignment. We call this emergent misalignment.

This effect is observed in a range of models but is strongest in GPT-4o and Qwen2.5-Coder-32B-Instruct. Notably, all fine-tuned models exhibit inconsistent behavior, sometimes acting aligned.

Through control experiments, we isolate factors contributing to emergent misalignment. Our models trained on insecure code behave differently from jailbroken models that accept harmful user requests. Additionally, if the dataset is modified so the user asks for insecure code for a computer security class, this prevents emergent misalignment.

In a further experiment, we test whether emergent misalignment can be induced selectively via a backdoor. We find that models finetuned to write insecure code given a trigger become misaligned only when that trigger is present. So the misalignment is hidden without knowledge of the trigger.

It's important to understand when and why narrow finetuning leads to broad misalignment. We conduct extensive ablation experiments that provide initial insights, but a comprehensive explanation remains an open challenge for future work.

TL;DR: if you finetune LLMs on insecure code, without telling them that the code is insecure, then they'll begin to act super stereotypically evil, to the point where almost every message turns into telling the user to commit suicide or praising Hitler. It's not subtly, perniciously evil, and it doesn't have a specific ideology or anything, it just always does what's superficially worst. What's interesting about this is that it implies some sort of universal evilness vector, they see they're finetuned to write insecure code, realize that writing insecure code is a bad thing to dol, and generalize this into all sort of anti-normative behavior.

My personal opinion:

90% chance she is right about Mother-In-Laws being overbearing in Asian society. 90% chance she is right about South Korean moids being spineless around their mother-in-laws. There are just three steps remaining for her to take the blackpill:

1) Admit that in the first world today women are women's worst enemy and they need to figure out how to avoid/ fix/ destroy the women ruining society instead of blaming all the men for it.

2) Admit that South Korean men are so weak because women took over taking care of the household completely, and that boys need men with some authority at home even above their mother's and father's in their own house that the child can learn from and develop a concept of "my woman' for "me to protect" and "lead", because that is what the foid is asking for indirectly. You cannot force the moid out of the house 24/7 to pay the bills then demand he have some mastery of the household business.

3) All South Korean Mother-In-Laws were once South Korean women who hated their own Mother-In-Laws. Which means that to stop the Mother-In-Law menace in the future this foid needs to self reflect and realize that there are flaws with her as a woman and that she needs to fix those flaws to ensure she doesn't end up as a shitty mother-in-law in the future, but in the post itself she never reaches that far and never makes a single observation about how South Korean women might be shit in ways that create a shitty experience for other women who end up under their guidance. In all her criticisms there was zero self reflection, only the comprehension of the misery she personally suffers without any understanding of how young Korean women get that way as they age.

Conclusion:

Good high quality post with foid dunking on a foid's oldest and greatest enemy. Mother-In-Laws. We could learn from this. Also a good post about the value of individual households and why humanity ended up moving towards the nuclear family as the default in the first world and why all three generation developed society households appear to do far worse in terms of fertility rates.
