I'm not claiming to be an expert, but when a studio releases Hi-Fi Rush, it receives insane reviews, great sales, and GOTY nominations/awards, is praised by the publisher, then is immediately shut down, then the publisher comes out and says "we need smaller games that win awards"... I mean yes like I said I'm no expert BUT COME THE FRICK ON. They clearly have no idea what they're doing. I'm no expert but I know that Nintendo doesn't just fire a bunch of people after their game sells like crazy, and that company has been making games WAY longer than Microsoft. It doesn't take an expert to see that Microsoft has no idea how to manage game publishing.

Did it have great sales tho? It's not like it was an indie game that cost nothing to make and it was only sold at $30.

It's hard to find hard numbers on it because it's digital only but according to the wiki it has had over 3,000,000 players between both sales and Game Pass and it's now releasing on Playstation and Switch. I'd say it's been a financial success.

I seriously doubt it had “great sales”. It probably had the opposite of that for Microsoft to shut them down. I seriously doubt Microsoft were like “this studio is making us truck load of money let's close them”. Great user and critic reviews isn't going to save a studio at the end of the day if no one bought the game. And this is not the first game that underpowered from them. Ghostwyre Tokyo failed financially too and that was marketed by Sony and launched on Ps5/PC.

Over 3,000,000 players across sales and Game Pass. And even if sales were low that falls on the publisher for not advertising the game correctly. When all the critics and fans say the game is a 10/10 then the developers did their job flawlessly. Microsoft should've advertised it more if sales were down.

3m players doesn't tell us much. I am making this up but let's say 90% of them have played the game for 1 hour on gamepass. Then that fails in generating gamepass engagement and low sales and you have a game that just underperforms. We don't know the revenue, costs and profit of the game. Microsoft does know that. There is no world in which the game makes them truckload of money and they shut it down. You guys yourself said it - they care all about the bottom line. Advertising the game heavily costs money. Which you then need to make up through hopefully higher sales and end up being ahead. I suspect Microsoft didn't think it's worth doing it. Some games are more niche and inevitably have lower sales. Hi fi rush is likely one of them. We have seen this time and time again with great games undeperofmring financially. Nothing new here. This was the case with HI Fi rush and their previous game - ghostwire Tokyo which was promoted by Sony.

Belgian Government Will Intervene In Cases Where Prostitutes Refuse Sexual Acts Too Often

Back when I came of age around 2010 and there was a popular white privilege checklist. It was all stuff like, "when I go shopping, I can be confidemt that someone of my race will be there." When I was in middle school I was put on a medication that made me eat endlessly. My hunger was utterly insatiable. I would never feel full even when my stomach felt like it was bursting at the seams. I had stopped looking at the scale when I hit 300 lbs. I don't know where my weight peaked. I didn't want to know at that point.

Almost 15 years later I'm still trying to work the last bit of it off. I fluctuate around 220 lbs. I'm still learning about my emotional eating habits. And I would resent the way I looked. Which made me feel worse, which only led to more eating.

Speaking as a white woman, I agree. I used to do some rave-wear "influencing" and a specific company would have only one plus size model/rep, which often was also their only black model/rep as well. I completely understand. I spent almost all of my life punishing my body for my perceived life's failures and forcing it to carry my emotional pain.

It sucks that society can't see past our flesh prisons, but I understand people use appearance to categorize others and make determinations from there.

My only advice is to focus on those who see you for who you actually are and disregard the others. We are on this planet for a limited time, we can't allow others to dictate our identity. Our opinion of ourselves matters more than anyone else's. Choose who you want to be, be them, and love them.

As a former fat white woman, it was not easy either. And I was not sexualized at all. I was called Shamu, I was constantly heckled by men, saying disgusting things, guessing my weight, or making fun of me. I have gone on a great journey and lost 250 pounds over 10 years ago. I think it will depend on government responses. The US is trying to build walls and privatize all our social nets. We are cannibalizing the public good. If Project 2025 comes to fruition we will be dramatically dropping the quality of life for almost all citizens.

If Canada has better accommodations- affordable healthcare, available housing or land, and possibly a more stable government then yes I do expect there will be an Exodus.

If we get to the point where the Arctic sea is navigable then Canada will be prime to become an exporter of rare metals from deep sea mining too.

Without appropriate water management most of the western and middle United States will suffer the Dust Bowl again. Our entire corn belt is grown with aquifer water - that will become too low and too expensive to use at some point.

I'm not as familiar with the concerns of Canada, but because they have such large tracts of land not currently in use, they may have a strong economy while others flail.
