Just my 2c as a doctor.Generally we don't like opiates post birth due to the breast feeding risk - many women who aren't planning to breastfeed then do, so alone this cannot be considered a safety net. The risk of getting sued is so so so high (obgyn is by a mile the most litigious speciality). There is also the constipation risk which some people find excruciating.We also know that many women don't need them, for a multitude of reasons, so often not top of the agenda.There is also a very real risk of sedation and infant injury even if not breastfeeding.Counterpoint. Doctors have cracked down on prescribing since the early 2010's pill mills were in their heyday in the mid 00's and the majority shut down by 2010. Our opioid crisis is fuelled by cheap fentanyl that has flooded the streets and the economic crisis that is fuelling the despair that is driving people to spend what little they have on cheap fentanyl. The young generation dying to fentanyl now were young teens during the biggest prescribing years and a huge amount were under 10 years old. When you can get fent for 2-3$ a point or less and escape all your problems for a few hours that is what some people are going to do. The generation hit hardest by the pill mills are in their 40's to 60's now. Blaming prescribing doctors for what is going on now is like blaming the dot com bust for all of our economic issues now in 2024. (47)

The first one the pain was so bad and I couldn't see anyone for an entire weekend, and I was prescribed opiates along with the antibiotics after the tooth was extracted. While I agree with 90% of your comment, I don't agree that it's reasonable to discharge most patients home with NO opiates after a major surgery. Hip replacements, TKAs, any other ortho or general surgery procedure are getting a narc prescription - to routinely withhold it from C section patients doesn't make sense. I am a prescriber and I personally have almost never written for more than 2-3 days worth of opiates - I'm very careful about it - but I think it's hard to argue that most opiate naive patients are going to benefit from having a short opiate prescription after a C section, at the lowest effective dose and in combination with non opiate therapy. Basically, I think it's a stretch for you to say it's "unsafe" to write for a short course of opiates after major abdominal surgery, and I would also say it's bad medicine to significantly undertreat someone's pain. Exhibit A (see the attached picture). An anime girl holding the Ritchie Kernigan C book. This is a beginner-tier book that describes how if statements and for loops work. At the time, it was ground-breaking because programming was so much more primitive. Nowadays, it's completely unimpressive. Not only is it very basic, but it is flat out wrong in some places, since most people use C99 or C11, not Ansi C nowadays.

So what would be a good C book to photoshop onto all our favorite cartoons for undersocialized men? There isn't one. Even something "official" like the ISO C99 or C11 standard diverges from reality significantly. Books like "modern C" are written by hucksters who write C at the level of an undergraduate who just finished their first C programming course. The way to tell if someone is a serious C programmer or not is if they use libc stuff like malloc or not. If they do, it means they don't really care about the underlying hardware and operating system primitives. Ironically, the x86_64 reference manual Volume 1 is probably a better source for learning how to write good C code than any C book that currently exists.

I opened to check what's broken used multimeter and apparently a cap that ain't even costing 1 cent broke, it regulate some voltage it's very tiny and my soldering skills ain't that good to fix it + need microscope. Things for burgers to understand here in West European cities people don't even have screw drivers and legit don't know how to change light bulb. So I checked local ahmeds repair shops and they offer to change liquid thermal paste to a regular one for 120 euro, that's their peak skills and Sony would ask like 300 euro to fix it so after a day I decided to just later give that ps5 to one of my Slavic friend as gift, they will be able to fix it for couple of buxx in their slavshit country. And just buy a new ps5 at bol (Dutch amazon) it was Friday at around 19:00 hours so next morning I woke up at 9:00 went on walk with my dogs, study some then at 12 I decided to track my package and it's written it was delivered at 10:52.
