It's yes
Here a vet tech copes that they're legitimately a useless profession

“Someone once told me human medicine is more important”
“Specialized repair tech”
Aka mall kiosk phone guy
Here's another vet tech. This one is mad that veterinarians (who go to school nearly as long as actual doctors) make more than them for being cat/dog CNAs
LPNs aka nurses who don't go to college or as I like to say little pretend nurses
24k a year means the VA rates him at like 60% disabled

28 years old married to my wife who is 27 years old. We own our home in Arizona. My wife currently works but our baby is due at the end of this month and at that time will stop working.
Income:
I work in sales so my income is variable but my base salary is $102k I've grossed $133k since January and and $167k YOY. My wife works 20 hours/week and makes about $20/hour.
Bills/month:
Mortgage: 2964.59
Pool guy: 115
Bug guy: 40
Internet: 55
Electric (summer): 300
Gas: 300
Groceries: 600
Water (summer): 150
Baby things: variable on the month
Dog expenses: variable on the month
Medical: I budget () $100/month but could be more
Cell phone plan and loan: 111
Online subscriptions: 116
Personal fun money for the both of us (eating out, shopping, entertainment, wants): ~$900 each
$401k: 5%
Save: What ever is left over
Some added context. We just bought our house in May 2022 with a 5.125% interest rate. Only other debt is the interest free phone.
The bills above are every month, but it seems like some big expense I'm not accounting for always comes up eating up what ever I had planned to save. Also with my wife going to stop working soon, and if there is a month I don't get commission we're in the hole about $700 which I'll need to pull from savings.
Do I have a need to be concerned based on the numbers above? Or am I freaking out because of the variable nature of my job? Another reason I'm looking for input is I'm looking to see if it makes sense to switch jobs with the hopes for more income?
Any input is appreciated.
OP responses:
You're probably right $900 each is a lot. I eat out way too much and she loves to shop. Definitely something that can be brought in. It's tough knowing my income is in the mid 6 figures and even at $900 per month per person we don't live an exorbitant lifestyle.
I try my best to budget all expenses but for example, we decide to go to Ikea and bought a new stereo for our car last month. That's a couple hundred bucks right there and of course those are both luxuries that I didn't budget for within the $900 fun money per month. Month before that I didn't plan for some computer software or some new tires. we also had a baby shower. Month before that was a hotel for my cousins wedding. That throws off the whole budget. Yes these are mostly "Fun money" things that are more spontaneous.
Just feels like $900 per month for fun doesn't got very far. That's $30 per day. I understand that some people would love to have that much fun money. I personally don't feel like I live in luxury or anything like that.
Also the wife has no friends
You threw your own baby shower?
Yeah lol we of course had help but my wife wanted to do it herself

Oklahoma has some odd things with gas stations. We have independent 7/11s (owned by some crazy Christian's so they don't sell condoms lottery etc) which were all shitty, in old buildings of various layouts and states of decay. Sidenote - Due to their independents status and the fact that they're only based in OKC and nowhere else they baked all their shit local each morning so this is my choice for best gas station. up until 2015 or so 7 had 50% market share of the okc streets. The other two gas station giants in the state at the time were Loves and Quiktrip. 7/11s were more the in middle of the city and the quiktrip (qt) and loves are closer to the interstates which dissect okc/Tulsa. Before 2015 (or around there I'm not looking this shit up I'm going from memory for context) loves and QT had an agreement that loves wouldn't go to Tulsa and QT won't come to okc. The two cities are roughly 90 minutes apart and each boasted several of their flagship respective filling stations.
Well 2015 the agreement fell through. Idk if someone died, a contract ended or someone read the art of the deal but the floodgates opened. Loves starts ramming up into Tulsa and QT comes knocking at okc. They both start throwing up huge gas stations on every corner. Brand new for the first 5 years or so and then they started buying up older independents and refurbing.
Well these new behemoths were sterile. No more fried food baking under hot lights you asked the middle eastern for. No more clerks outside smoking cigs between customers. These new gas stations were 24h, staffed by ample people's, had security in the rougher areas, well lit, bathrooms normally clean, normally 24+ pumps etc
Even 7/11 had to step up It's game and they've been steadily building new 7/11s while quietly shutting down/demolishing/remodeling the worst of the old ones.
Somehow this has made our gas stations across okc and Tulsa very nice. I actually just miss the fried food windows but maybe it's cause they aren't around as much idk
Anyways a new player entered the game about 2 years ago. Established in other states but unheard of in our hallowed state (at least the only two cities that are worth talking about okc and Tulsa) decided to throw its hat in the ring.
Well one brave soul takes a stand to Facebook

Paul let's her know, “TRUMP!”
Also here's some pics of her so you sick freaks dont zoom
To be fair to Paul public sentiment is torn
Anyways Paul seemingly forgets about Casey's until joe Brandon raised the gas prices last week.
Inflation, Brandon, the lack of fried gas station food and sky high fuel prices made Paul set his sights back on Casey's.
People mostly turn on Paul
Paul doesn't relent.
Anyways some people like it.

Landlord doesn't own shit but a piece of paper saying they have some level of authority for what's on top of the land there.
The value of this asset goes up over time
why do you think? it's just a magical always-increasing asset like some kind of perpetual motion machine?
Yeah it's brainless it's just gambling with more steps. One recession and you're fricked. Property values don't always go up. You're gambling on that shit won't hit the fan during your term, and you won't have to liquidate because people can't pay rent anymore and you don't have enough in reserve to ride it out. Puts nothing into the community, instead of creating something and being rewarded from that profit it's just charge others who can't afford to buy a house and skim the margin from that. Absolutely braindead lazy.
But that's not enough to back what I said. The only ones winning are the banks. Shit hits the fan and you can't pay the house off? lmfao, you might get back what's left on the loan and you lose what you have paid thus far, and you lose the house. Bank made the interest from loaning to you, and the house that you paid with that loan, they get that too.
Not only is it a braindead non contributing "profession" but it's also a good way to gamble against the next 30 years of the economy.
@89wc if a landlord "doesn't own shit" then why don't you see what happens if you stop paying your rent?

Just like in real life, I am now a poorcel, having goombled away every DC I had to my name. A modest 3k porfolio built up by months of making comments that sounded better in my head and came out either 30 percent funnier or unfunnier than I intended them to- dashed by the (((casino.))) When you see a mess of blood and guts being scraped off the pavement, let it be known that @crack is who lies there, let it be known he is now free of the goombler’s curse.
