Let me just preface this by saying this will be an incredibly long post that will most likely look like shit because the formatting on this site is as hard as getting people to respond to my messages so in case you just want to read the list there's a link to the complete list somewhere in this. Also, I need to edit this like twenty times or so so wish me luck. Also, I cannot guarantee that I didn't make a mistake somewhere so in case you feel robbed or I missed something maybe you're right but this was not as easy as I initially thought.

• The ordering of games in the lists was not taken into consideration. Thus there is no weighting process involved. I did this so people who have mentioned less than 5 games weren't heavily penalized or couldn't put more emphasis on their picks.

Undertale is an artisan's labor of love among mass-produced commodities, a game whose reputation has unfortunately been tarnished by terminally online types. Look past its associations and the simple childlike aesthetic and you will find a rich RPG that is enthralling through its piece-by-piece jigsaw-puzzle storytelling that lends itself to many epiphanies, jaw droppers, and tearjerking. I must clarify that it is a tearjerker not in the sad cheap Oscar-bait manner, but in a romantically layered fashion through gradual attachment to a very memorable cast. It brought me to tears both in displays of tragedy and - more importantly - displays of loving friendship.

If you love anything that is meticulously handcrafted by one passionate man's vision, or a thrilling and winding story, or you're snowed in and want to warm your heart by the metaphorical fireplace, or you like video game OSTs (seriously, for an 8-bit album it really sets the mood!) then do yourself a favor and give Undertale a shot.

The inventory system in Divinity: Original Sin II is fricking stupid. You loot heavy shit for money and the game buries you with random-butt crafting items for later. Imagine a pillow fort but it's big-butt unmarked barrels and chests. Also you can't visit that spot any more once the next chapter starts so you gotta do it again. I also like how the game makes you insta-wipe randomly so you're forced to save every ten seconds. The character customization is fetch though.

The detailed enviroment is filled with rich and engaging lore, that most players won't even realize it there until they've done multiple playthroughs. Simply put, Bloodborne is the perfect souls game.

Path of exile is a monument to capitalism and gambling. Each league it is proven again that bring poor is a choice, a choice made by your genetically inferior parents to produce a child destined for failure.

Around once a quarter a new league comes out with a new mechanic in every zone, some balance changes and a totally fresh economy where everyone starts out level one washed up on the beach with nothing but a stick and a bit of torn cloth to cover peepees and clams. You then hone your character through slaying monsters to get experience for the massive 1325 passive point talent tree and currency to trade for or use directly to craft your gear in a crafting system it requires a PhD to be proficient in.

You slay your way to the end endgame where you are rewarded with yet another passive tree to scale up the difficulty and reward of new zones called maps, which themselves can be crafted, placed into an atlas along with still further opportunities for investment such that it can easily cost you more than a plebian will see in their entire league to open one map with the hopes to pull even more currency out.

Old School RuneScape (OSRS) is often considered one of those games that you'll only like if you grew up playing it, but in truth, it just takes the right variant of autism. The main draw is the complex skill system, the game has 23 distinct skills and it can take dozens if not hundreds of hours to max each of them, and as you level them, they form extremely satisfying synergistic relationships with each other. But between the quests, the PvP, or just the conversations you'll have with fellow 30 year old boomers grinding minigames, RuneScape is much more than the sum of its parts and you'll find yourself when you check your playtime and realize how easy it is to forget how long you've spent chasing skill capes

Modern RuneScape, usually called RS3, is much the same but with updated graphics, some new skills, gear, and quests, and different balancing so you can level quicker.

Terraria is an extremely well made sandbox game. It is able to fit more action, adventure, mining, and exploring than most other games. It also has had incredible support from the devs + community resulting in incredible mods and more content than you'd think. The game's multiplayer is also some of the most fun I've ever had.

Considered by some to be the peak of the Immersive Sim design philosophy, the game allows you to come at challenges from many angles, utilizing your resources and skillset to talk, sneak, shoot, steal, and hack your way through each situation — "Problems, not puzzles".

Elden Ring is the greatest bibeo game experience I’ve ever had. I adore pretty much everything about it.

For me, the centerpiece of elden ring is the world. I started as a wee peasant, waking from a grave and stumbling into something preposterous. I just stared in awe at the sight before me. A giant golden tree. A mountain, impossibly high. Castles upon castles.

It beggars belief that a game could exist with all this done well.

Surely From Software couldn’t have made a game with tons of biomes that all look good and have unique enemies, bosses and mechanics? Well for the most part (ignore mountaintop, ignore mountaintop) they did!

I loved exploring the world and seeing what fetch shit is around the corner. I was never disappointed. Getting randomly teleported to some giant flying dragon temple that I had no clue about? Realizing on the next playthrough that there’s actually a secret 3 headed dragon boss? As my good friend, @squirrelposting would say: “shit is nuts”

Combat is awesome. It’s challenging to learn a new weapon or learn a new enemy. It keeps the game engaging and I enjoyed the difficulty. There are a ton of weapons, the interactions between ashes of war and weapon types makes experimentation interesting. I am pleased with how they implemented weapon arts.

The boss fights are legendary. Fire giant is an epic battle against a titan. Radahns second phase had me pooping my pants. Whore loo is a street fighter character. Malenia (my wife (male)) has toes 🥵 to die for. I loved 90% of those fights, even the ones that were buck breaking me for days.

It’s more accessible than previous souls games. They toned down a lot of the elements that make the previous 3 souls games annoying (more bonfires, run backs aren’t complete cancer). However, the boss fights are generally more difficult. I get annoyed at the opening margit fight because that bastard has more moves than the nameless king.

Soundtrack is fantastic. My personal highlight are the zone themes. The haunting ennui of limgrave, the dying wails of caelid, the faded majesty of leyndell. The boss themes are also good but I do think DS3 has better ones!

Final comment: grab the seamless coop mod if you want to play multiplayer. It’s pretty flawless and a real multiplayer system elevates the game even further (base game multiplayer is r-slurred). Ofc it’s a bit easier but it’s so much fun to horse around the world with a buddy.

Actual final comment: Elden ring is an amazing experience and I’m already cooming in my pants at the prospect of more DLC

World of Warcraft with 13 votes.

Two factions -- Horde and Alliance -- are constantly battling for control of Azeroth, and players must choose their side to fight opposing faction players for control of Azeroth's lands. Players navigate through increasingly more difficult areas of Azeroth and complete quests to increase their player's level and stats. As players complete quests, they can improve their character's armor and gain access to new dungeon battles. Dungeons are available at higher levels where players can work with parties of five, ten, twenty, or forty players to conquer Azeroth's most dangerous enemies. Together with a chosen guild, a team of players can unite in a raid of 10, 20, or 40 players to conquer strong enemies and obtain the highest and most coveted gear.

World of Warcraft, for all it's flaws and God knows it has many, is truly a one-of-a-kind game. I must have spent somewhere around 10 thousand years hours playing wow. Though I haven't played it in a while and I absolutely hate the jew addled pozzed fricks that are the current devs, if someone asked me if they should play WoW out, my answer would be yes. They absolutely should at least try it. You can even try out Classic to see what is the fuzz all about.

Even if today there are other MMOs in the market like FFXIV, no other MMO really hits the spot that wow does. That's not to say it's somehow their fault, it's just really hard to compete against such a established franchise. For instance the first Warcraft game launched in 1994 and WoW itself was launched in 2004, so that's 29 years of Warcraft and WoW has 19 years of content in it's back.

To me wow feels like the jack of all trades of MMOs. No matter if you're a hardcore player, a casual player, pvper, pver, a coomer or an incel like @pizzashill (lmbo get fricked i got to comment on the game and not you), wow has something for you. Wow is also probably partly to blame for my obsession with women with horns.

Dark Souls 1 - The gameplay is top-notch, difficult but not unfair. I like how compared to other souls games the character feels heavier just like you'd expect a knight in metal armour to be controlled. The NPCs are very likeable and memorable. Graphics still hold up today and the soundtracks play at just the right moments. The overall atmosphere is lonely and depressing but in a good way.

@azurewaves - Dark Souls

Dark Souls 1 is an action rpg that spawned the 'Souls-like' sub-genre. It is know for its challenging difficulty, environmental story telling, and high quality melee combat. Every enemy is deadly, but if you are skilled they can be felled with any weapon. Beating a difficult boss after struggling is exhilarating. And the high quality hit boxes and unique move sets for each weapon make most other melee combat systems feel like trash. It also features unique online coop mechanics and pvp invasions, which along with the unique weapon movesets gives it a lot of replay value. It may seem daunting to outsiders who know its reputation but it is very rewarding to play.

The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind with 14 votes

I love Morrowind for the player choice it offers to your roleplaying and the alien world it invites you into.

Morrowind as a setting is alien, strange and hostile to the player, Characters treat you as an outsider and require you to gain respect to progress.

You can roleplay effectively as a nobody as the world treats however your destiny slowly unfolds the more you involve yourself into the world.

While combat definitely isn't refined in later games I do appreciate the amount of choice in your skills, equipment and especially magic in the Elder Scrolls hasn't better since imo.

Morrowind is easy to lose yourself in unexpected ways, from simple exploring following hazy directions, experimenting with magic and skills to outright break the game for fun or just letting the outlandish setting ensare you. You're treated as a nobody and aren't expected to save the world as a chosen one at the start, you make your own man to do what you want until destiny comes calling.

It's a very cozy game for me. I'd recommend anyone to look ino OPENMW, a FOSS engine reimplemantation, since Morrowind with it's OG engine can be quite unstable on mkdern systems.

@ACA - Morrowind

Morrowind is a strange, exotic world. It doesn't look like a traditional medieval meme like Oblivion. The tensions between the occupying Imperials and the locals was present. The relationship between the local religion and great houses and prophecy made for great storytelling.

The later series further rounded out controls, maps, and certain parts of character development, which I wish could be backwards-incorporated into MW, but overall it's got the best story and world.

Rimworld with 14 votes

Rimworld's approach is to simulate everything: people, animals, plants, buildings, manufacturing, weapons, religions, and so on. It's a highly complex game but it's easy to play because it's the complexity of real life. Just do what you would really do if you were chased by feral wolves or sheltering from radioactive fallout. The interactions between all the simulated objects creates a story better than you'll get from most narrative games. (It's Dwarf Fortress for neurotypicals.)

Manage and develop your small group of barely functioning r-slurs to help them survive and maybe even thrive on a hostile planet.

To keep your colony running smoothly, you have to fight the environment, disease and invaders in the form of men/animal/bug/machine. All while keeping your people happy enough so they won't snap. This is especially important if you want to branch into some of the more lucrative industries like drug production, organ trade or luxury good made from human leather which Rimworld is famous for.

Adaptive difficulty, while incentivizing some weird behaviour, generally works well enough to always keep you on the brink of ruin, which is the most fun state to play. Combined with being very moddable, this ensures the game will always be interesting

Minecraft is a game with so many ways to play it's closer to an engine or platform than a game, similar to Gary's Mod.

Adventure maps allow people to make crafted stories with scripted combat encounters, data packs let people randomize or modify parts of the game for challenge runs, and servers can have all sorts of custom game modes.

That's excluding Forge mods which allow all sorts of things to be added to the game, including fantastical dimensions, flying machines, massive manufacturing chains, and tons of new building blocks. I've played countless modpacks and each can give hundreds of hours of fun, it's fair to say someone could easily sink thousands of hours into the game over years of playing.

Minecraft is a flexible game: you can spend hours exploring the world and mining for diamonds, or you could build a giant city. You can relax and multitask or you can join with friends for an adventure and give it your full attention. The vanilla alone is something you can sink thousands of hours in to. Mods add a whole other level of complexity and refresh your interest. There are mods to go on Adventures to fight new mobs and find fetch loot, technology mods that let you build complicated ore processing so you can build ever larger contraptions, and magic mods with varying degrees of complex magic. Its the best crafting survival game.

Team Fortress 2 is a fast-paced multiplayer first person shooter. The gameplay is characterized by each of the 9 classes having a variety of play styles, vertical mobility, and high lethality. The timeless art style and well-written characters give the game a personality that's allowed it to outlive all of its contemporaries. What's best of all is that in TF2 lobbies, people are playing to have a good time. The chaotic nature of the game has stopped anyone from optimizing the fun out of it.

Few multiplayer games manage to strike a good balance between player choice and inherently good game design at its core, which I think is the main cause of TF2’s longevity. Most players of the game might think of it as a class-based shooter with a healthy amount of character customization used to achieve different strategies, and interestingly enough how even strategies that aren’t “the meta” are still pretty fun to play. But even if you strip away all the fluff of customization, it still remains a well balanced multiplayer FPS at its core.

Is Fallout new Vegas with it’s „Le Hegelian Dialectics” some artistic masterpiece? No, but it’s a darn good game. The world is coherent and thought out, with every settlement feeling like part of a bigger picture, characters even with few lines of dialogue are given, well... character, everything feel grounded in the setting, and works to expand and deepen it. As for the gameplay, while the combat is nothing to write home about, the core of the game is role-playing and choices associated with that, the perks on level ups you are given are meaningful, every weapon category is viable, and your skills have impact outside of combat, which while not high praise, is in contrast to far too many RPG. Lastly, and most importantly, the quest, are just interesting, and when needed will give you a choice. Even fetch quests, with associated dialogue and context are somewhat made to feel meaningful. All in all, it’s a great game, and definitively the best 1st person RPG I played, by a mile.

Fallout New Vegas was contracted out to the neckbeard geniuses behind Fallout 1 & 2, in an uncharacteristically smart move by Bethesda to follow up the success of their 3D foray with the franchise that was Fallout 3 while they were busy with the Elder Scrolls. The game was at release and still can be a buggy, obviously unfinished mess but is still regarded as one of the best RPGs of all time which should speak to it's content quality. The setting, atmosphere, story, writing, characters, gameplay, RPG elements, and music are all top notch and I think the reason it appealed to so many people: it's hard to find anything to hate here especially as a norman first time RPG player. The game gives you a barebones backstory/motive, throws you into the Mojave desert with the Vegas strip tantalizingly close, and says good luck have fun.

Fallout New Vegas toes the line of depth and accessibility, offering the player, multiple approaches to combat, quest resolution, exploring, and character builds. The setting and atmosphere is familiar, while offering a unique twist with it's combination of post-apocalyptic sci-fi and cowboy western in 1940s esque ameriKKKana. Memorable characters, sympathetic factions, and a sick butt soundtrack.

While there has been a lot of political sperging regarding FNV's factions from and alike, I really like how the game doesnt push you in any one particular direction, heck most characters aren't essential to at least one ending. Fear and Hunger is an indie franchise settled in the horror/survival RPG genre made by a single neurodivergent Snow Mongol from Helsinki called Miro Haverinen. After rallying the edgelords, Grek won with 68 votes, beating the admin plant pick, @The_Homocracy's beloved Booberry. (We're chill with Homocracy now, he's one of us.) This hurt Joan's feelings. But a deal's a deal, and the money we earned from winning the contest bought us /h/edgy. No capybara shenanigans involved. Joan got cancer shortly after and has been removed as an admin and probably died. Afterwards, I fed Grek to my pet frog because even winners deserve tragic endings.

We got Idio axed.

Our very own @Don_wei exposed Idio as a libertarian. After Idio banned Don for speaking truth to power, we took our revenge. The resulting fallout let to us taking over the entire site, plastering it with anti-Idio sentiment. What’s the time stamp between the video recording and her receipt? I’ve read three different articles that said the bike was paid for and put back, then paid for again but never taken out of the stall. Also said she paid for a different bike and then tried to pay for another bike. There’s not a lot of timeline, well organized evidence presented on either side. What should’ve happened is both people should’ve cancelled their request, walked to a different bike, and then got a different one. It didn’t have to get this far. It’s a rentable bike of many others.

And just like a rural redneck hick whom came from his backwards isolated tiny town, into the big turbo liberal city, did I also experience a plethora of batshit insane political grandstanding and sneeding regarding various subject, during my time studying there.

One which particularly brings back memories is the annual passive aggressive grandstanding between Palestinian and Israeli students every year in February during Orientation Week. In this Orientation Week, all the new 1st year students are shown the location of their Residencies, lecture localities, admin buildings, and all they need by 2nd to 4th year mentors and council members by the various faculties like Sciences, Engineering or Humanities. Among these organizations are extracurricular activities like Sports: Rugby, soccer, martial arts, swimming clubs. Then there's student churches for every conceivable religion. And even extreme activities like Hiking and Skiing club - in which UCT would be willing to sponsor you if you were a seasoned mountain climber or whatever. I think the only club I ever joined was the Hiking club and the chess club, in which the other chess players always pulverized me.

The IAW Code of Conduct stipulates that both PSF and SAUJS’ structures must be confined to an 8x8 zone on either side of Plaza. SAUJS’ tent measures 12x9 with its full extensions, and 9x7 without. UCT Health and Safety ruled that even though SAUJS’ tent extends outside of its allocated 8x8 zone, because its 9x7 tent fits within the square meterage of 64 squared metres, its one metre extension outside of their 8x8 zone is acceptable. Our structure measures significantly less than the amount by which SAUJS’ tent extends outside of their zone and its square meterage is a mere fraction of SAUJS’ tent. And so, if the square meterage of 64 metres squared is the relevant measurement, then we are entitled to have a structure on plaza with the dimensions of 64x1; and if SAUJS’ structure is allowed to take up some space out of their allocated zone, so too should our structure be allowed to take up an equal amount of space out of our allocated zone.

DEBATES ABOUT PRESERVING RHINOS THROUGH DE-HORNING:

So basically since 2 decades ago as far back as 2000, afrikaans farmers and wild game reserve lodge masters have been begging the RSA government to allow they to legally be able to breed Rhinos, so that they might have stable population regrowth in the safety of smaller and better protected private wild game camps. Many naturalists and other hippy types abhorred the idea of enclosing these natural beasts in artificial zoo like camps, even if the wild game reserves were very large. Wild Game hunting lodges also had an overlap between the people whom could or would be able to afford the upkeep of these specialized Rhino reserves, and liberal people didn't trust hunters to preserve them.

But what was especially a nuclear bomb of dramatic sneed between these factions was the suggestion to legally farm Rhino horns, in order to curb the black market. Now it's important to not that Rhino horns have been harvested from even way back as 1950s, that's how we know the horns could be removed without harm to the animal. But since 1977 an international ban on the trade of Rhino horns had been implemented by the United Nations. And in 2009, the South African government put in a moratorium on trade in rhinoceros horns.

Of course, as the Rhino-poaching epidemic reached critical levels of at least a thousand Rhinos per year, and the Kruger National Park populations having fallen by have by the end of the decade since 2009, people were starting to turn around to other solutions in total desperation. Today I wanna talk about Credit Suisse, a slimy bank filled with slimy Swiss bankers with an absurdly long history of corruption. If you know the stereotype of Swiss bankers taking Nazi gold/ gold stolen from slayed jews, then banks like Credit Suisse are the cause of it. Now I'm basically late to the party, but of particular note is that recently the bank Credit Suisse went full FUBAR after a bankrun, and the Swiss Federal Department of Finance, the Swiss National Bank and FINMA have asked Credit Suisse and UBS to enter into the merger agreement, to prevent the total collapse of the entire Swiss economy. An action which has been astronomically controversial and it's likely that in the coming years that Switzerland will endeavor to bring in a large scale Trust busting of this now banking supergiant.

Imagine my surprise when I realized that the recently tanked Credit Suisse is the exact SAME FRICKING bank which had brought ruination to Mozambique's economy only recently. I talked recently about the devastation which the Mozambique Civil War had had upon its people and economy, and it's truly a sense of unfairness that Mozambique had finally recovered only to have Credit Suisse causing them yet more enduring misery. Mozambique was one of the world’s 10 fastest-growing economies for two decades. It was a prime target of donors and a destination for 10–15 percent of total foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows into Sub-Saharan Africa back in 2013.

It took almost 5 years since the discovery of unapproved loans, but in 2022, Credit Suisse was fined £147 million for its role in causing a debt crisis in Mozambique. What is this debt crisis? Lemme tell u.

Way back in 2013, Credit Suisse granted loans to a state-owned Tuna fishing company. Then loans to fund speed boats, then for docks and docking equipment, the idea was to fund and reinvigorate the dwindling Mozambique fishing economy. Many of the loans were subsequently sold on to other Speculators (which are very large financial firms which trade in debts and investments to make money on the interest.) Credit Suisse didn't tell these other Speculators that these were dogshit loans. None of the loans were agreed by the Mozambique parliament – as required under the Mozambique constitution. When they became public knowledge in 2016, it immediately caused a debt crisis in the country.

The sudden discovery of 2 Billion$ of previously unknown debt caused immediate devaluation of Mozambique's currency, and plunged the Metical crashing down, so that the price of imports and basic goods skyrocketed. The World Bank had stated that as a consequence of this secret Debt, 2 million mozambique peeps were put into poverty. "Mozambique campaigners estimate it has collectively cost the country $11 billion - $350 per person - and could cost a further $4 billion more. Between 2015 and 2019, public spending per person in Mozambique was cut in half."

So what precisely happened? And why did the debt cause devaluation of the Metical?

Around 2013, a corrupt group of Mozambique politicians had created 3 State-owned Enterprises, organizations which were publicaly controlled, and with these 3 shady mint new State Enterprises took on a series of debt totaling more than 2 Billion $, which was around 12% of Mozambique's GDP. Again, allegedly the loans was to fund and build docks, fishing ships and shipyards ect. The loans were supplied by Credit Suisse and other banks like VTB, and BNP Paribas. The loans were kept so secret that at the time, the 3 banks didn't know each other were also lending money illicitly to corrupt offcials, until Mozambique activists and journ*lists blew the lid in 2016.

The sudden awareness by literally everyone, that the country had taken on loans much much larger than their fledgling economy could reasonably expected to repay, cause instant uncertainty. The surprise was surprising to these dipshit risky banks as well, as all 3 of them had their subterfuge obfuscated from each other as well lmoa. "These loans breached the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program in place at the time, and the International Development Association’s non-concessional borrowing policy, resulting in the outright suspension of budget support by both institutions and other development partners." What they are saying here is that the IMF would refuse to give out new loans which was desperately needed by the Mozambique gov for future development, after discovering the existence of at least 1 billion $ loans already within the national accounting books of Mozambique.

Additionally, these Hidden Debts, caused political turmoil and social unrest within Mozambique, as it demonstrated how easily just a few weak links in the Mozambique political structure could so very easily abuse their positions within the government to obtain illicit loans, bribes and tenders. Subsequently, Mozambique’s Attorney-General started proceedings against several Mozambican officials allegedly involved in contracting the loans, and the British financial supervisor pressed charges against the banks like Credit Suisse. This was truly disasterous for the poor Mozambique peeps.

So why did these corrupt Mozambique Officials take on such vast loans?

These fake shell companies acted as funnels for syphoning off cash secretly from public funds. By taking on loans, they were syphoning off cash not directly from places where accountants or actuaries could notice discrepancies from annual or semester budgets or whatever, and then be instantly caught. Instead, they would fleece off of the loans, and then pay back back the loans secretly from the taxpayers budget. After all paying back a loan is more easy to disguise than explaining to the account wtf a luxury liner is doing on the annual budget sheet.

It's a cute idea, but the corrupt Officials flew too close to the sun, and took too much loans on simultaneously, from different banks, and in secret from each other. So when the lid was prized off of the corruption, and sunlight shone on the rat's nest - both Credit Suisse and the public discovered to their horror that these illicit mega loans had ballooned to over 2 billion $, a massive amount to poor Mozambique.

So why did the Bankers like Credit Suisse give out such incredibly risky loans?

It should be noted that the scumfricks in Credit Suisse KNEW about the corruption of the Mozambique Officials they were loaning money for, but the lucrative opportunity of reaping in interest rates behind the back of the Mozambique government like a tapeworm was too much to ignore for the avarice of the Credit Suisse employees in charge for this disaster. What's even more remarkable is that Credit Suisse dropped some of its own regulations to deal with these corrupt Mozambique Officials.

"In 2017 an independent audit revealed that at least $700 million of the $2 billion of loans was unaccounted for. The audit further revealed that Credit Suisse initially said the loans needed to be approved by the Bank of Mozambique, checked by the Mozambique Administrative Court and reported to the IMF. This would have meant far greater scrutiny of the loans, and it is likely they would never have been agreed. However, Credit Suisse dropped this requirement, allowing the loans to be agreed without scrutiny."

WHY DOESN'T MOZAMBIQUE JUST GIVE BACK THE MONEY?

Because so much of the Loans from Banks like Credit Suisse have been stolen, bribed or already frauded via these Mozambique Shell State Enterprises, that only part of the fricking 2 Billion sumtotal loans remain. Mozambique can't just pull out 250 million $ out of its butt. Thus they are stuck with a massive national loan. And none of the objectives of these loans, namely constructing new shipyards and docks, investing in the Tuna fishing industry, have been met. Thus there's no manner in which they may obtain the shortfall naturally in their current economy, and there will be no future mystical Tuna industry to tax to pay back this shit.

Additionally the currency devaluation death spiral caused in 2016, further inhibited their capacity to just swallow the bitter pill and negate these vast loans, with their Metical weakening against the Dollar as confidence in the Mozambique Metical fell and fell.

AFTERMATH:

It was a hideous scandal in the banking world, and International, UK and USA regulators would spring into action the fine Credit Suisse out the butt.

More than 200,000 Mozambicans have been displaced by the conflict and 700,000 Mozambicans are in need of humanitarian assistance. In general, 70% of Mozambicans live in poverty and it is ranked 181 out of 189 nations on the UN’s Human Development Index.

Mozambicans desperately need aid, and unlike in previous years, the IMF is encouraging social spending in the face of Covid-19. However, Mozambique’s debt makes this almost impossible as austerity measures have been put in place in the country in order to finance its large debts. Today I wanna talk about Elephants. Specifically those of Botswana. Botswana has been the home of the largest concentration of Elephant herds on earth for a several decades. As recently as 2020, they were recorded as having 130 000 elephants, half of all elephants in the entirety of the African continent is to be found in Botswana. In fact they literally have way too many elephants, and have suffered an overpopulation problem for the past decade.

One of Botswana's conservation initiatives involved repatriating amounts of their Elephants to their neighbouring country of Angola, whom is much poorer and has suffered great environmental destruction because of their Civil War which had ended as recently as 2002. Like Mozambique's cataclysmic Civil War, Angola was also devastated by violent conflict between communist and capitalist factions vying for power during the Cold War, and ended up destroying their Portuguese colonial infrastructures, and debilitating much of their natural habitats. Many Angolans suffered the same fate as that of their Mozambique peers, in that famine raged the country during war, and farmers could not work their lands. People desperately turned to hunting the wildlife for food just to survive, and that had included Elephants. Anyways, Angola used to be one of the most populous natural habitats for Elephants in Africa, but colonial overhunting by the Portuguese trophy hunters, and the genuinely apocalyptic hellstorm of the Angolan Civil War, which was intertwined with the Congo Civil War, meant that the Elephant habitats were just as ravaged and reduced as the poor people of Angola. Botswana and Angolan leaders have gotten well together these past 20 years, and have gone to lengths to improve their conservation efforts together against Chinese Elephant poaching, for for environmental concerns, and to boost Tourism in both countries.

The big problem is that catching, sedating, transporting and releasing just a single elephant takes a shitload of time, money, fuel, expertise and effort. Every developed nation on earth has a Cadaster, in which they basically determine whom owns what, be it Canada, America, ect. Every time a land parcel or farm is divided or combined or changes ownership through sale, then the Cadaster is updated, along with the associated Title Deed which proves ownership of that specific land parcel. It's complicated but what matters to dramatards is that these two offices - the Surveyor General's Office and the Title Deed's Office work in tandem tirelessly to ensure that land and home ownership records are kept updated continuously so that there can never ever be confusion as to what exact centimeter of earth belongs to whom. Some countries marry these two organizations and some have separate things, but they all perform the same function of recording land ownership. And there's pretty good incentives to keep these records running as we know that land can be very valuable or expensive, especially if say oil gets discovered beneath some burger's scrapland in Texas, suddenly whom owns precisely what is not just a matter of thousands of $ but billions of $.

To add some background context, we need to talk about how Mozambique obtained independdence. Because it was a shitshow.

Basically Mozambique had been a Colony of Portugal for 400 years, but post WW2 with the total devastation of Europe, even nations not directly involved with WW2 suffered tremendous economic heck as basically all of their pre-war trade partners were levelled to the ground, and the inter-war period saw an obvious sharp decline in international trading. For the smaller and poorer European states like Portugal this basically dried them out, and they did not have the capacity to maintain their overseas colonies as they once did anymore. Additionally, the Western world would begin to drastically liberalize their societies and taste for colonial rule declined, just as africans began to become drastically more educated and an awareness of freedom began to develop. Additionally the Cold War was in full swing and the Soviet Union intended to exploit every single fracture within the west they could - and supporting African colonial states politically and with material was an inevatable occurrence.

By 1964 many of the Mozambique indigenous people were fed up with the unfair treatment they received under Portuguese rule, and that Portugal exploited Mozambique resources not for the benefit of the inhabitants but the wellfare of Portugal itself. It would continue from September 25, 1964, and ended with a ceasefire on September 8, 1974, resulting in a negotiated independence in 1975. But it needs to be understood that the war for Mozambique began in Angola, all the way back in 1961 - when communist Cubans and Soviets armed the Angolans with weaponry and training, so that they might spread to all of Southern Africa and overthrow the Colonial White governments there and instate Soviet friendly Socialist governments on the tip of Africa. Angola was also a colony of Portugal incidentally, and when Mozambique locals saw their peers having a violent atrocity rich war against the Portuguese army there, they also became inspired to overthrow the Portuguese gov in Mozambique, especially after Cubans and Angolan veterans crossed Southern Africa to form guerilla groups on the Eastern Coasts.

At this point in time, Namibia was called Suid-Wes Afrika, Zimbabwe was called Rhodesia, and the Republic of South Africa was known as the Union of South Africa, and all 3 of them were under white minority rule from anglos and afrikaners. They were also hard right wing governments whom hated Socialism, and to see these communist movements all over Southern Africa spring up like wildfires was, both from natural grassroots movements by the locals as well as instigated by Soviet/Cuban instigators were cause of peerless alarm, for the Hard Right governments there. At this point in time Portugal was poor as dirt, and could not maintain a multifront series of wars for all its colonies the way France did post 1960. The South Africans and Rhodesians didn't want a black majority governments to successfully spring up right next to their borders, and thus aided Portugal materially and financially throughout the war.

Throughout this shitshow our Burgeland friends were also under deep controversy as to whom to support. In USA the mass equalization of black peeps there meant a rapid change in foreign policy with regards to their Colonial allies like Frogland and Britain. At the same time, the fervently anti-commie USA stared in abject horror as Soviet supported socialist parties sprang up in Africa to replace these toppling Colonial provinces. They desperately didn't want the Red Menace to spread like locusts, but they also didn't want to be seen as supporting African colonies or colonial overlords, as their new 30 million strong blacks voting block became a powerful minority voting group not to piss off too much. Fortunately for Burgerland they had the racist NP Apartheid government as a mini power at the South Point of Africa to do the dirty work on their behalf. America would never formally condemn SA until the very end of the Soviet Union, and fall of the Berlin Wall. The Union of SA was simply too valuable as a bullwark against communism to lose the strategic south point of africa.

I mention this about the USA because of how the Mozambique Independence war ended. By 1975 the Portuguese were basically dried up like a washing cloth. They simply didn't have the funds to keep an army funded half a planet away. Some economists estimated that by 1975 - 44% of the Portuguese budget was spent on fighting its colonial wars, it wasn't sustainable. Sentiment amongst the civilians populace in Portugal was also increasingly anti-war and anti-colonial rule. And the guerilla forces achieved their objective of making Mozambique too expensive to govern. Many People consider the Mozambique war of Independence, and the immediate followup Civil War to be one uninterrupted violent 30 year conflict. You see Burgerland believed that Mozambique would inevatably fall, and encouraged Rhodesia and South Africa to support anti-communist factions when the Portuguese inevatibly GTFO'd. But this meant that throughout the War of Independence, there was a quasi 3-way war between Portugal, the Soviet backed ocialist FRELIMO, and the South African & USA backed RENAMO. It's obscene to think that South Africa ended up sponsoring both Portugal AND RENAMO at the same time lmoa, but the policy was basically anti-commie no matter the cost or absurdity.

Post conclusion of the war for Independence, the political situation of Mozambique in 1975 was intensely unstable. Communists and anti-communist locals were beating each other up in the streets while the Portuguese were evacuating their army. Outside of the Afrikaners at the time in Mozambique whom had spread across all of Southern Africa in the 1800s from Cape Town, many of the Portuguese whites there had lived in Mozambique for multiple generations way back as 400 years ago, thus they were pretty drastically ingrained into Mozambique and their evaquation was traumatic. Within the 1st 2 weeks of Independance and overhanding of government control to the Mozambique socialists, 300 000 Portuguese all fled Mozambique after fear of the brutality in which colonial settlers were massacred in Angola. With the leaving of these settlers, Mozambique also lost much of its tradecraft and nation building experience. And unlike RSA there would be no teaching from white settler to black indigenous peeps at how to run the country later in 1990.

Anyways, after Independence, and after Portuguese fricked off, the violence and atrocities began immediately between the factions of FRELIMO (the commies) and RENAMO (the capitalists). Moscow blamed South Africa and Rhodesia for planting insurgents into Mozambique and destabilizing the new Democratic (not really the socialists were a one party rule) country. Rhodesia and SA blamed the Cubans and Soviets for planting insurgets to destabilize Southern Africa. Both were true and both sides were full of shit. For the next 20 years Mozambique would be proxy wars between the forces of communism and capitalism as the Soviets trained and armed FRELIMO and the South Africans & Rhodesians trained and armed RENAMO.

This war would be a contest of brutality, as brother culled brother, and father killed son. It would range from 1977 to 1992. The country of Mozambique would retrofit itself for war instead of economic wellfare. I"ndustrial and social recession, corruption, poverty, inequality and failed central planning eroded the initial revolutionary fervour. Single party rule by FRELIMO also became increasingly authoritarian throughout the Civil War." Over a million Mozambique locals would die in the conflict, either as casualties or from starvation as farming became impossible against the guerilla and counter guerilla raids between FRELIMO & RENAMO. Critical infrastructure left by the Portuguese like Hospitals and schools were destroyed with no ability for the population to rebuild them without tradecraft knowledge and no ability to learn engineering whilst under a state of warfare. The extensive Portuguese railways connecting villages deep from the ocean ports were destroyed, meaning new food could not be delivered to isolated places. The country became mined to oblivion. Farmlands would remain danger zones, until the very last landmines would finally be removed in 2015. And even then now and then a Mozambique girl loses their leg from a mine still obfuscated.

This farce of human suffering would continue up until 1992 when the soviet Union collapsed, and both South African and their support for FRELIMO and RENAMO ended, respectively. The South African National Party government - the guys maintaining Apartheid, had used the Soviet Red Menace as a boogey man to upkeep the porpaganda for its own local Afrikaner populace - as not all of them were staunch apartheid supporters, and the lead narrative was that if the white race didn't corral their misguided black countrymen, then they'd fall to the evils of communism. I mention this because, it's a great sense of morbid irony that many afrikaner historians consider the fall of the Soviet Union to be the greatest cause for the fall of the Union of South Africa.

With no money from external Cold War enemies, the finances for bullets immediately dried up, and peace talks began between between the communist and anti-communist factions, as mediated by the Mozambique Grand Church, and the Italian Catholic Church. Tensions between the veterans still flare up today. As recent as 2015-2018 there was a short but brutal spat between opposing factions in the North of Mozambique. Records, files, stamps, folders, and deeds. Every single municipality and region and province ceased to exist on file, and there was basically only ash. They did this with the deliberate intent of destroying what they had believed to be a European supremacist system, and by eliminating the Mozambique National Cadaster, they would basically go full Fight Club with that end scene where the main character destroys all banks and relieves everyone from crippling debt. In this way the socialist soldiers believed that by eliminating records of which boundaries belonged to whom, they would have eliminated Portuguese influence upon Mozambique society forever, and ensure that the Coommunist notion of commune and shared prosperity would follow.

Of course with the end of the Civil war, and during peace talks in 1992 between the 2 factions, mediated by the Grand Mozambique church, post war chaos, people discovered that all of the Cadastral records were destroyed and the unintentional chaos soon followed. You see black people whom had lived for centuries next to a beach, suddenly found themselves in conflict with veterans rewarded with land which fell over their physical buildings, like their cattle corrals and huts. Men with brick houses refused to share land with other without records, but there were no records to have proof of ownership.

Many of the entrepeneurs whom tried to uplift themselves out of poverty, could not leverage their homes or ancestral lands for loans to start a shop or business, as no bank local or multi-national would loan against a land parcel which had no proof of ownership. Houses, buildings and flats which survived the war could not improve with asset interest, as once again ownership proof wasn't obtainable from anywhere. Who the heck is gonna buy a farm, if the guy you are buying it from can't proof he's the ACTUAL owner. This elimination of cadastral records would have dramatic economic repercussions for Mozambique's economy, when they had already suffered a devastating colossal poverty inducing war.

The absence of maps, and municipal records of say, where the water pipes were laid, also meant that maintanence would not be achieved easily for any water system which would need the eventual repairs over time. Other problems without a national Cadastral record, included which boundaries laid where against Mozambique's national borders, and fights would break out between Mozambique and Zimbabwe, as to whom owned what. There sure as heck wasn't any Multi-national communist friendship when Zimbabwe discovered coal near Mozambique's borders. It was a massive diplomatic slapfight between the two nations.

Today I wanna talk about Nandos - a chain of restaurants which originated in Johannesburg South Africa, in 1987 by a Portuguese strag who plagiarized a Mozambique restaurant's recipes, before making his own. The name nandos is a nickname after the guy's surname Fernandos. It was never as big as KFC, but the chain quietly and steadily grew to great national success under his leadership, eventually even obtaining an international market in places like Bongland - where the english REALLY seemed to like the chain even more than South Africans. Generally South Africans tend to enjoy Nandos more than KFC, as the method of grilling is similar to the way the black indigenous people warm up their meat. There's a Nandos in every big city, and it's very successful ect ect.

But what we wanna focus on the Defcon 1 turbo butthurt that Nandos has caused for Southern Africans over the past two decades with their advertisements. You see Nandos has a pretty long history since the early 1990s of having batshit insane over the top adverts shown on SA T.V. Similar in nature to the Terry Crews over the top Old Spice deodorant adverts from america. These zany ads worked pretty well at establishing Nandos into the national conscience of the country, since they could never compete against the international behemoths of places such as MacDonalds or KFC otherwise. Nowadays Nandos' adverts are pretty rare, I presume because they are finally a large enough international conglomerate to not have to even advertise themselves, cuz i haven't seen a Nandos advert in a very long time. But then again, I avoid cable TV like the plague because it's invested with endless slogs of ads.

HONANRARY MENTION OF KANGAROOLAND:

Before we eff off to SA, I just wanna include that I found some Australian drama all the way back in 2002, where Nandos bussy-blasted the Kangaroo people there by highlighting in one of their adverts in Australia, the plight of Asylum seekers. Australia has pretty hardcore border control, and immigrants and refugees are always immediately detained upon entry for processing, to detect they aren't international criminals or lice-infected or whatever. Nandos Australia went full galaxy brain and deemed the philosophy that even bad publicity is good publicity, but poking the hornets nest in Aussie national discourse. Apparently a bunch of rightoids were upset, I have no idea.

NANDOS MOCKS JULIAS MALEMA IN ADVERTS:

Our big boi JuJu Malema has been a staple of Saffer uncivilized politics for over 15 years now. For many of the ANC top leaders they just found cushy jobs in their corrupt Nepo states, and they weren't keen on Malema rocking the boat.

The RSA public was of course appalled at this new grotesque display of a lack of dignity between our political leaders, in their petty back and forth public displays of their bad english speaking skills. Many people here have in retrospect after the Trump administration, called Julias Malema the black SA Trump, because of his tendency to have a perpetual monthly drama in the news involving him. And of course our best friends at Nandos thought to capitalize on this new circus in RSA news with a galaxy brained advertisement.

Nandos created an advert which showcased a puppet with Malema's visage and speaking pattern, and whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo boi was there nuclear fallout. The usual complaints from the black population about the puppet being racist, because it had exagerated features. But this puppet was crafted after the english puppets which always mocked politicians via exaggerated facial features like:

I don't remember the advert, i was too young, and i couldn't find it through all the linkrot; but the basic premise was that Charles was acting like a white man, not taking the troubles of his black crime ridden communities seriously.

THE LAST DICTATORS ADVERT:

The Tzar bomba, and biggest detonation of drama of all the legendary Nandos adverts! The advert angered pretty much every brand of wingcuck on the surface of Southern Africa!

The 1-minute advert shows a lone Robert Mugabe sitting alone in a big fancy mansion during a holiday remising about the past when he had lots of comedic fun with other world famous dictators. He plays waterguns with Gaddaffi, makes sand angels with Saddam Hussein, sings karaoke with Mao Zedong, and pushes P. W. Botha (the last white president whom upheld Apartheid, before he was supplanted by F.W. de Klerk to end Apartheid) on a swing set. It's a pretty ballsy advert, and plenty of people had pretty strong feelings about it.

White afrikaans boomers protested that the advert was inaccurate, and that there was totally democratic rule under P.W. Botha's rule, with absolute zero sense of irony. Chinks in SA were too small a minority for anyone to give a shit, but they were sneeding about Dear Leader not being shown all dignified like. Black pan-african wingcucks sneeded because the advert DARED to show african leaders as dictators, and sneeded that all of the countries shown like Libya was totally democratic and not held under military might of Gaddafi, or that the brutal dictator Idi Amin didn't genocide in Uganda and wasn't a dictator ect ect.

Many black ANC wingcucks sneeded that Nandos dared show an african leader like Mugabe to be just was villanious as the white devil evil apartheid leaders! Black people are totally wholesome all the time Sneed sneed sneed. It was glorious.

But the biggest shitshow was in Zimbabwe itself. Mugabe reacted the way like all dictators do, just like Putin did with the famous clown Putin meme, or the way Xi reacted to the Winnie the Pooh meme. Of course in Zimbabwe itself, the situation for the poor Nandos workers there was quite serious, as militant Mugabe supporters were calling for violent action against the chain in the country of Zimbabwe. Nandos corporate had to quickly backtrack and pull out the advert, for the safety of their employees there, and issue a wimpy soggy apology for Mugabe cabinet pretty quickly. Our buddy Zuma was best pals with Mugabe, and enforced that the South African Nandos chains also remove the advert. Of course the Streisand effect meant that the Nandos ad became forbidden fruit, and every Saffer teenager with a Blackberry and crusty flipphone would watch it during the lunchtime on their school playground.

NANDOS MOCKS ZUMA:

Back in 2016, there was immense controversy about President Jacob Zuma involving the discovery of his home mega mansion - Putin style - which he had built using syphoned taxpayer's money. The Nkandla homestead would be a source of drama for like 5 years straight, but back in 2016 Zuma went full r-slur and suggested paying back only part of the taxpayers money instead of addresseing the notion of corruption that must have taken place for a president to even be able to steal money in the 1st place. THE NANDOS XENOPHOBIA ADVERT:

As bad as South Africa is, the rest of the African continent isn't fairing so much better, and for the past 20 years a metric shitload of refugees have flooded our borders, congolese, nigerians, and especially Zimbabweans. As Zimbabwe economically collapsed by 2010, it was estimated that by 2010 there were between 5-10 million of them as illegal aliens in RSA, some seeking residency at the Department of Home Affairs, and others just illigally hiding out in the various rural towns and farms for work. Our dogshit military and police force are so lazy and incompetent that they have completely neglected the South African northern borders. The are no patrols, and the fences bordering Mozambique and Zimbabwe have all been stolen for scrapmetal while the lazy soldiers lay in the sun baking like a beach tourist. I would know, I was literally there surveying 3 years ago. When the Limpopo river is completely dry, you can just walk across the sand banks. North of Musina, there is an orange farm called Katina-Alith, where zimbabweans walk across the river to buy from the white boers there, and walk back lol. The farmers don't care, the police don't care, it's all happy days!

Anyways for context, in South Africa, a lot of farmers/boers tend to favour Zimbabwean workers for several reasons. As most of them are refugees with nothing but the clothes on their backs as they were chased by Mugabes military, they are humble and hardcore hard workers, whom are willing to do anything without complaint to feed themselves and their families. This is in start contrast against the local black zulus and xhosas whom are very entitled to to grants or land or jobs. In contrast Zimbabweans are all highly educated and can speak fluent english, because the old Rhodesian education system was exceptional. Thus boers, from the poorest white, to the richest farmer, favour working from them, since they can actually do things like count, and the farmer can rely on them to become middle managers or tractor drivers for him. The violence became so infamous across RSA, that the diplomatic tensions from other countries the refugees were from was even strained. Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique and Malawi even repatriated their citizens amidst fear of further reprisals. I need to go into several backgrounds for this nuclear armageddon drama to even make sense. I mentioned that in south africa, the boere has an extremely prolific gun and hunting culture, compared to that of the other 12 different demographics in RSA. Like yanks, we are gunsexuals and love to add blackpowder in coffee. Because of the intense diversity of wild game and bucks in the country, we also have an international appeal to hunting. For many of the most rural people, hunting opportunistically for hares, foxes, tarentale or the odd small game is a way of life, and forms a semi-regular portion of their diets. Because my father and uncles are all avid hunters, and follow hunting related news, I've been exposed to various dramas related to the wild game and antelope industry of South Africa.

For us the notion of vegans was pretty alien, since in african levels of poverty beggers can't be picky choosers, for both poor white farmers, and black people here. When i went to study surveying in UCT, I basically went from bumfrick nowhere conservative bible belt, to turbo ultra mega liberal land. It was a pretty unsettling and traumatizing experience, from a town of 10 000 people to 5 million. It was a very confusing place for me, because all the whites there spoke english, and all the coloured/black people spoke afrikaans. Wat de fok. But the most discombobulating thing for me was meeting vegetarians. In South Africa, we have a large hunting industry, which usually acts in symbiosis with our tourism industry, pumping in annually 2 Billion rand into the RSA economy. The biltong industry, the dried meat market, pumps a further 11 billion rands into the economy, both from domestic sales, and exports. So it's proved its weight. But the most lucrative market for private wildlife ranch/farm owners comes from Trophy hunting from foreigners, such as fat yanks, smug canadians, stupid euros and chad Indians. South Africa is a VERY popular Hunting Vacation spot, because the crappy dwindling value of the rand has had dwindling conversion rate against the dollar and euros - which is bad for South Africans, but very very good for Burgers and Bongs, who's even mediocre middle class salaries, will mean that they can live like kings while hunting and/or vacationing with their famimlies in Southern Africa.

The big drama had already started way back pre 2000, as more and more South African wild game farm owners began to realize that marketing their bucks/antelopes for hunting to Europe/America was extremely lucrative. Many americans and europeans were oblivious to the fact that hunting in South Africa was even a thing, or was allowed, or were very tepid and nervous at the notion of going to a strange unknown land in a different continent to go hunt. Many South African huntmasters would build paradise-like Lodges and camping grounds. They would even go so far as to advertise that they would physically meet them at the Johannesburg airport, drive them all the way to their private farms/lodges, and drive them back when the hunt was done a week later - this was very appealing for wimpy foreigners whom were scared and fearful of a country full of black people ,and liked the notion of a civilized Hwhitoid to come collect them and chaperone them like royalty. They would receive 5 star hotel services in the middle of the wilderniss, and all of this was possible, because these new breed of huntmasters whom advertised to foreigners, could ask 10 times the price for lodging and hunt fees that they would ask from local south african hunters, and the yanks would pay it easily, and without blinking, because their powerful dollar/pound/euro completely smashed the rand in conversion rate. What was a king's ransom for a local Saffer, was peanuts for an Englishman.

As I said, Boers had an intense gun/hunting culture, and have participated as the primary customers, along with a few rugged Bongs, as the customers of hunting in RSA. Foreigners have always participated in RSA hunting of course, even way back in the Union of SA/ Apartheid days, but they were always a specialist minority. As the social unrest in RSA became a norm in the New Democratic South Africa, and the ANCs abominable rule entrenched itself as a new culture of corruption, the Rand systemically began to dwindle as a reliable currency for investors, until in 2000 the once proud Rand had fallen to an Abysmal 10:1 conversion rate against the Dollar. This slowly and systemically started pushing all prices upwards, from the most costly Elands to the humble "staple" food for local hunters such as the spingboks, Impalas and Blesboks. Hunting in RSA was genuinely "cheap" if you were middleclass, or at least entirely affordable. The sheer amount of meat for example, you would get to feed your family for a month or two from a single Blesbok carcass was much more affordable than buying it's mutton or pork, or cattle meat equivalent at store. For many poor saffers, shooting 1-2 of the "staple" food bucks annually, like Blesboks and Springboks was an easy feat and a highlight of their year.

But more and more wild game ranches started to cater to their Burger and Bong international customers, and the prices of lodging, slaugthtering fees, guide fees, and of course the price of the bucks themselves became completely unafrfodable for many. I'm only 29 years old, yet in my short lifespan as a teenager, I saw hunting go from something the lower middle classes and poor trailer trash whites did, to a distinct Upper Middle class hobby. The gnashing of teeth and seething from Afrikaans/Soutie poors , loud and fuming, as they were literally cucked out of their hunting lifestyle by rich chad foreigner burgers. You would of course still always be able to hunt, and for those who were well connected and savvy like my father would still be able to sniff out good deals sensible for locals, but the point is hunting slowly became a luxury, instead of a way of life for many.

The desired trait the farmers/huntmasters wanted could be anything, be that larger horns for the next generation for trophy hunting, or fatter Blesboks for more biltong/meat. Obviously enforcing artificial Natural Selection is much much harder than with domestic animals, and takes a much longer timeframe to achieve, but it has been done for hundreds of years.

A pivotal moment for SA Hunting came, when one eccentric farmer whose name has now been lost to time who it first was through all the myths and chaos that would soon follow, had deliberately bred colour variants of Springboks and Rooiboks. You see just like humans, mammals often are born with a genetic defect such albinism, some of you guys have probably seen albino crocodiles and other reptiles. Of course sometimes the genetic defect can even be helpful, like say the albino crocodile somehow has a better chance to survive in a new environment and can Camouflage better as a consequence of this genetic defect - then natural evolution occurs over time.

Of course in places like the Kalahari, Savanna and Transvaal - being an albino is a distinct disadvantage since all of these bucks are perfectly adapted to blend into their respective environments. Thus natural forces would mean that these poor frickers would be the easiest spotted by lions and cheetahs, and would be the 1st culled from the herd, ensuring their genes would never pass on. In South africa, it was estimated that Sprinboks have a naturally occurring colouring genetic defect for 1/ 700 to 1/1500 in nature. So they are mega rare. Somehow a bunch of r-slurred weirdos deliberately sought out these colour variants, and bred them compulsively so that entire herds formed. DRAMATIC PUBLIC REACTION TO THE COLOURING OF WILG GAME IN THE HUNTING INDUSTRY:

As colouring the herds of bucks became more prominent and widespread, and not an obscure rare eccentric hobby, the wider hunting public, and civilian public became outraged. For many of the religious in RSA, this was an abomination and an affront to nature. Many christians and muslims felt that the farmers championing colouring of bucks were arrogant and playing God. I cant believe this! Why would the Arabs (Egyptians) do this to this poor African man?!? Well it turns out that Chakabers during his trip to the pyramids, conveniently left out some details that would change the story. On his Instagram he posted this picture:

After Chakabers posted the pictures to his instagram he started picking up hate from mostly Egyptian people since they were the most affected. While most would just apologize and try to move on from an incident like this, Chakabers has a different approach. Double down and call the Egyptians racist colonizers. He tweets out:

Ya, I’m a life time space flight fan, and SpaceX has done some amazing things, but I’m just not buying that this was success. Success was if it entered orbit like all the Saturn5s did. Sure they might be able to fix what went wrong, but engines failing is a design flaw. The PR people don’t need to over hype the parts of the launch that went well. So I occasionally watch Doom videos on Youtube and yesterday this video came up as recommended:

I have no idea who this guy is, but I had heard of ZDoom (https://zdoom.org). For those that don't know there are multiple "source ports" for Doom, basically reimplementations of the the original game engine but made for modern operating systems with new features added. ZDoom (new versions are called GZDoom I think) is one of these "source ports".

I decided to give the above video a watch and basically this guy makes Doom maps or something but he's leaving the ZDoom forums for good because of their mishandling of sexual abuse / grooming allegations against one of the prominent members of the ZDoom community: Marisa (https://doomwiki.org/wiki/Marisa_Lago). I just want to re-state again that I have no clue who any of these people are. This Marisa has been accused by multiple victims of engaging with them in sexually explicit chat while knowing that they were underage.

What makes this a little unusual is that this Marisa is repeatedly referred to as a "she". I had a hard time believing that a foid (female) was into a 35 year old first person shooter video game, so a brief google search turned up this: https://forum.zdoom.org/viewtopic.php?p=1239571#p1239571 Looks like we are dealing with a foid (male) unsurprisingly. So the thing that never happens has happened again.

To make things more dramatic the forum administrators apparently tried to keep this underwraps and made private comments that were derogatory against the accusers. Hilariously the admins of this forum are apparently buddies with some mods of Reddit Doom subreddits and they work in tandem to ban people across the board and they call their little group "The Fun Police".

Apparently the guy who made the above video was banned afterwards but has since been unbanned.

Summary of the accusations from the admin statement:

Marisa the Magician was accused of being a child groomer and libertarian in /r/DoomMods (the thread has since been deleted). The accusation came with a number of screenshots that displayed clearly sexual interactions between Marisa and a person who at some point claimed they were 17 years old. Among other things, the screenshots contained a message from Marisa where she said that her own first relationship was at the age of 18 when her partner was 14 years old.

Their summary of their findings:

As mentioned, it was Marisa herself who brought the post to our attention, so we proceeded to discuss it with her, trying to find out as much as possible. We found out the following:

• The screenshots were real, but presented in an incomplete and non-chronological manner (possibly on purpose).

• The accuser had approached Marisa first and was aggressively flirtatious. Multiple logs and screenshots showed them being the proactive party.

• At some point the accuser also claimed that they solicited erotic images with other users, including a 12-year-old boy, and shared those images with Marisa, unprompted. (Marisa presented us with logs of that interaction, images edited out.)

• The accuser's age was not mentioned until several months into their relationship. Marisa, in a display of obviously very poor judgement, apparenty hadn't thought to ask about their age earlier.

• Arguably the most darning fact was a message by Marisa saying she used to have a relationship with a 14-year-old while she herself was 18. Marisa's reaction to that was that she simply could not remember who she was talking about in that message, and in fact could not remember having any relationship at the age of 18.

I think a fair summary of the above would be: "the screenshots are real but the child forced themselves onto the and the has also confirmed being in a relationship with a 14 year old".

So even after banning the groomer the admins are quite clearly still trying to defend "her".

Despite the investigation feeling incomplete, we decided to ban Marisa. It seemed like the best course of action for two reasons:

1. If the accusations were true, we obviously couldn't keep an individual like that around. ZDoom community is not a place for pedophilia and sexual abuse.

2. If the accusations were false, she would become a target anyway, and by proxy the ZDoom community would become a target as well.

These poor admins (who do it for free) were forced into banning Marisa.

The that they've bent over backwards for then proceeds to chimp out:

That belief soon dwindled. Marisa replied to the original subreddit thread, which did not make the situation any clearer and did not make her look any better. She did not release a public statement, but later she did act out on her Twitter, going as far as stating that her boyfriend was "willing to track every single one of them down" (referring to the people who started targetting her by that point).

Now the admins are buttmad that the lashed out at them:

She displayed disregard for the safety of the ZDoom community and for all the benefit of the doubt extended to her. She also suspected that some of the people who were willing to assist her were, in fact, trying to sabotage her. Marisa did not care about the people she put in front of her to shield herself from accusations, she cared about herself.

Today I wanna talk about the great courtroom drama that occurred in 2017/2018.

From 2014 onwards there had been an increasing amount of court cases between agrieved farmers, regarding the spread of Snotsickness which were transmitted by wildebeest to neighbouring cattle camps, and which is a fatal disease for cattle. Wildebeest are carriers of the disease, but are not themselves affected by it. Now, Snotsickness had been known about since for like a 100 years, and the standard wisdom by experts was that at least a 1km distance was required to be kept between the wild game camps of Wildebeest and any farm cattle, especially by neighbouring farmers so as not to recklessly cause them financial damage, as since, if a cattle farmer found even one infected cow within their herd, it was extremely likely that they would have to cull the lot to prevent transmission, and would be extensive economic damage if not total financial ruination.

What's important to know is that Wildebeest are immune to the effects of the disease itself, yet still acts like vectors - similar to that of the rats and flies which transmitted the Black/Bubonic plague from the far east into Europe. The bad and worse news is that there are no vaccines against MCF, and no medical counter agent. The only solution to stop the very infectious disease is containment, long distancing between camps/corrals and immediate culling of suspected infected wildebeest or cattle. Depending on the virus variant, cattle or sheep or other domesticated animals are vulnerable towards the transmission between animals.

In 2008 a study was made to test 304 wildebeest, and what they found was that the disease was transmitted between mother to foetus, so it was an intergenerational disease and wasn't going anywhere soon. This galaxy brain r-slur main issue with the game is its source material, the infamous Heart of Darkness novel of 1899 which was situated in the Free State Congo, you know when our delightful Belguin friends decided amputating native hands was a good idea as recreation for their mercenary soldiers in the colonial province. Your complaint that Spec Ops supports the intervention of Conrad is both unsupported (you cite nothing in the game which would support this view, just makes claims) and wrong. In fact much of the game directly contradicts this view. Conrad's attempt to hold order is disastrous, and the city is involved in a large civil war before Walker even arrives. Heck, it's turned out so badly Conrad, a decorated and experienced war hero, shot himself out of shame and regret. There's an audio log which mentions the harsher and harsher penalties the soldiers were carrying out. The dilemma of shooting the water thief vs the soldier, though a hallucination, supports the view that the intervention was a disaster. The soldiers were even mass executing their own and hanging them from lamp posts, it's just chaos.

My final point:

You've done this critique and either missed or ignored the entire point of the game. The plot and setting is meant to be excessively shooter-like. Walker is supposed to be the archetypical shooter protagonist who goes in guns blazing, never stops and never ones questions he's doing the right thing. The game's connection with American imperialism only goes so far as other shooter are celebrating the American imperialism and Spec Ops forced to include that angle as well. Even if the game flubbed on this (which it didn't) it still wasn't the main point of the game and would not discredit the point being made."

Also did I say that Spec Ops was based on Heart of Darkness, I lied, it's only influenced by it, the stories are very different with different core stakes, only the naming of main "antagonist" in the game is a direct reference for influence.
