I don't know... All I know is that my entire life my autism has been a barrier to my work experiences rather than a key. I can just cloak my autism. I'm pretty slow and without something like Ritalin or Concerta I process things very slow. You have someone relying on you and it's not everyone's responsibility to be fighting every single fight. You have every right to keep yourself and your loved ones safe and anyway punks look after each other. You looking after your youngling is a perfectly punk thing to do.
