Military technology is one of those weird spaces where it seems to upgrade like crazy and still be stuck at the same place at the same time depending on where you look.

On the other hand while there seems to be little change in the mass manufacturing of small arms and provisions in the US army, there are still little upgrades being made, such as the fact that starting in 2022, the XM5 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XM5 ) is expected to replace the currently common M4A1 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_carbine ) model as standard use.

The Specialist orgs seem to be seeing faster changes in the equipment supplied to them however. Such as the fact that they were seeing increase used of the FN Scar H rifles ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_SCAR ) long before the general military arm.

A man has opened fire at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York, while live-streaming on Twitch, killing multiple people and injuring others, local officials and witnesses say. He also posted an online manifesto in which he described himself as a white supremacist.

The incident began on early Saturday afternoon when officers were called for an active shooter at Tops Markets at 1275 Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival, they found victims on the ground outside the supermarket and others inside the building itself.

According to initial reports, at least 9 people have been shot, including several people who were shot in the head. Two victims were pronounced dead on the ground outside the store and at least one person was taken to an area hospital.

Buffalo Police confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody. In a video shared on Facebook, a man in military fatigues can be seen taken into custody. He appeared to have been armed with a semi-automatic rifle.

The attack was live-streamed on Twitch and screenshots from the recording showed horrific scenes, including a woman who is shot in the head. In other screenshots, victims can be seen on the floor of the supermarket.

A 106-page online manifesto, believed to have been uploaded by the shooter, outlined his motive for Saturday’s attack. In the document, he describes himself as an 18-year-old man and self-described white supremacist and anti-semite.

“If there’s one thing I want you to get from these writings, it’s that White birth rates must change. Everyday the White population becomes fewer in number,” the document says. “To maintain a population the people must achieve a birth rate that reaches replacement fertility levels, in the western world that is about 2.06 births per woman.”

BNO News is not publishing the document released by the shooter.

“I have been advised of an active multiple shooting event at the Tops Markets on Jefferson Street in Buffalo,” Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said. “Police are on scene. Please stay away from the area.”

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said: “I am closely monitoring the shooting at a grocery store in Buffalo. We have offered assistance to local officials. If you are in Buffalo, please avoid the area and follow guidance from law enforcement and local officials.”

We have blocked Kiwifarms. Visitors to any of the Kiwifarms sites that use any of Cloudflare's services will see a Cloudflare block page and a link to this post. Kiwifarms may move their sites to other providers and, in doing so, come back online, but we have taken steps to block their content from being accessed through our infrastructure.

This is an extraordinary decision for us to make and, given Cloudflare's role as an Internet infrastructure provider, a dangerous one that we are not comfortable with. However, the rhetoric on the Kiwifarms site and specific, targeted threats have escalated over the last 48 hours to the point that we believe there is an unprecedented emergency and immediate threat to human life unlike we have previously seen from Kiwifarms or any other customer before.

Escalating threats

Kiwifarms has frequently been host to revolting content. Revolting content alone does not create an emergency situation that necessitates the action we are taking today. Beginning approximately two weeks ago, a pressure campaign started with the goal to deplatform Kiwifarms. That pressure campaign targeted Cloudflare as well as other providers utilized by the site.

Cloudflare provides security services to Kiwifarms, protecting them from DDoS and other cyberattacks. We have never been their hosting provider. As we outlined last Wednesday, we do not believe that terminating security services is appropriate, even to revolting content. In a law-respecting world, the answer to even illegal content is not to use other illegal means like DDoS attacks to silence it.

We are also not taking this action directly because of the pressure campaign. While we have empathy for its organizers, we are committed as a security provider to protecting our customers even when they run deeply afoul of popular opinion or even our own morals. The policy we articulated last Wednesday remains our policy. We continue to believe that the best way to relegate cyberattacks to the dustbin of history is to give everyone the tools to prevent them.

However, as the pressure campaign escalated, so did the rhetoric on the Kiwifarms site. Feeling attacked, users of the site became even more aggressive. Over the last two weeks, we have proactively reached out to law enforcement in multiple jurisdictions highlighting what we believe are potential criminal acts and imminent threats to human life that were posted to the site.

Legal process

While law enforcement in these areas are working to investigate what we and others reported, unfortunately the process is moving more slowly than the escalating risk. While we believe that in every other situation we have faced — including the Daily Stormer and 8chan — it would have been appropriate as an infrastructure provider for us to wait for legal process, in this case the imminent and emergency threat to human life which continues to escalate causes us to take this action.

Hard cases make bad law. This is a hard case and we would caution anyone from seeing it as setting precedent. The policies we articulated last Wednesday remain our policies. For an infrastructure provider like Cloudflare, legal process is still the correct way to deal with revolting and potentially illegal content online.

But we need a mechanism when there is an emergency threat to human life for infrastructure providers to work expediently with legal authorities in order to ensure the decisions we make are grounded in due process. Unfortunately, that mechanism does not exist and so we are making this uncomfortable emergency decision alone.

Not the end

Finally, we are aware and concerned that our action may only fan the flames of this emergency. Kiwifarms itself will most likely find other infrastructure that allows them to come back online, as the Daily Stormer and 8chan did themselves after we terminated them. And, even if they don't, the individuals that used the site to increasingly terrorize will feel even more isolated and attacked and may lash out further. There is real risk that by taking this action today we may have further heightened the emergency.

We will continue to work proactively with law enforcement to help with their investigations into the site and the individuals who have posted what may be illegal content to it. And we recognize that while our blocking Kiwifarms temporarily addresses the situation, it by no means solves the underlying problem. That solution will require much more work across society. We are hopeful that our action today will help provoke conversations toward addressing the larger problem. And we stand ready to participate in that conversation.

Hello, my fellow rdrama grindmaxxers! I have made a stock exchange bot, so you can live out your dream of being rich and successful without actually being rich and successful.

How it works (short version):

1. Transfer some amount of money to @HMSE. This amount of money will act as your balance.
2. Ping @HMSE (or send it a message) like this "@HMSE balance" to see your account balance.
3. Do "@HMSE buy stock_to_buy maximum_price" to buy a stock. For instance, if I wanted to buy a share of $ANTIFA for at most 200 dramacoin, I would do "@HMSE buy ANTIFA 200". You can buy multiple of the same stock like this "@HMSE buy ANTIFA 200 count=5"
4. Every hour, on the hour, all transactions will be processed in an auction-like fashion. (See below for more details on how it exactly works) At this time, you will receive a message telling you what happened with the buy order.
5. To sell a stock, do "@HMSE sell stock_to_sell minimum_price". For example, if I wanted to sell $ANTIFA for at least 500 dramacoin, I would do "@HMSE sell ANTIFA 500". Similar to buying, you can also specify the number to sell with the "count" parameter.

Q. How are transactions processed?

A. Every hour, on the hour, all BUY and SELL commands are processed. For a given asset, if there are more SELLs than BUYs, it is a buyer's market, and buyers pay the minimum price set by the seller. On the other hand, if there are more BUYs than SELLs, it is a seller's market, and buyers pay their maximum price. In both cases, low priced sells and high priced buys are given priority, ie, a BUY is more likely to succeed if the maximum price is higher, and a SELL is more likely to succeed if the minimum price is lower.

Q. How is stock price computed?

A. It is the average sale price of all transactions. If there are no transactions, the stock price doesn't change.

Q. What the frick is an "S-Crow"?

A. Firstly, you mean "escrow". Secondly, whenever you make a transaction order, whatever you are attempting to trade is placed "in escrow" to prevent you from pulling jewish tricks. That is, you can't withdraw from it or sell it. If the transaction fails, or the transaction succeeds but there is still some left over, money will be given back to the main balance.

When a seller sells an asset, the asset is placed in escrow. When a buyer attempts to buy an asset, the maximum_price is placed in escrow.

A. The daemon runs every minute so as not to DDOS the site. If, after a minute, you still have not gotten any response, ping @HeyMoon and I will take care of it.

Quirks and Derps

I put a lot of effort into making this bot work with the site mostly, but there are almost certainly a few bugs here and there. They shouldn't break the game or allow cheating - the worst that can happen, I think, is that you do something that you know doesn't work and it gives you a technical error message instead of a funny error message. I haven't tested the bot with ghost mode yet, so, uh, don't try to use hmse on a ghosted thread (that wouldn't work anyways, because not even hmse will be able to tell who you are)

Known bugs:

• "@hmse trend" flat out doesn't work. lol. someone tell me how to attach a picture to a comment from the api and I will add a nice trendline
• hmse won't see your comment if it is too deeply nested within another comment chain that hmse has already replied to
• hmse won't see DMs that are replies to other DMs
• newlines will sometimes confuse the poor guy. :(
• the ticker will give kind of funky numbers until the game has run for a bit (since the weekly average will just be the total average)

Most of these I have a general idea of how to fix, I just haven't gotten around to fixing them yet.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday handed a sweeping win to former President Donald Trump by ruling that states cannot kick him off the ballot over his actions leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol — bringing a swift end to a case with huge implications for the 2024 election.

In an unsigned ruling with no dissents, the court reversed the Colorado Supreme Court, which had determined that Trump could not serve again as president under Section 3 of the Constitution's 14th Amendment.

The provision prohibits those who previously held government positions but later “engaged in insurrection” from running for various offices.

The court said the Colorado Supreme Court had wrongly assumed that states can determine whether a presidential candidate or other candidate for federal office is ineligible.

The ruling makes it clear that Congress, not states, has to set rules on how the 14th Amendment provision can be enforced against federal office-seekers. As such, the decision applies to all states, not just Colorado. States retain the power to bar people running for state office from appearing on the ballot under Section 3.

"Because the Constitution makes Congress, rather than the states, responsible for enforcing section 3 against all federal officeholders and candidates, we reverse," the ruling said.

By deciding the case on that legal question, the court avoided any analysis or determination of whether Trump's actions constituted an insurrection.

The decision comes just a day before the Colorado primary.

Minutes after the ruling, Trump hailed the decision in an all-capital-letters post on his social media site, writing, "Big win for America!!!"
