This is very sane advice. I am some emotional addendum. OP said they are not in a financial situation where they can't afford to pay 25k. They're simply paying the rate based on where they started living there. This is why tenants have no more empathy towards landlords. The lack of consideration LL have for tenants is really troubling. That being said. If you follow the rules, you can file to LTB, get a hearing in 6-8 months, and have them evicted.
