This is the story of u/throwaygyptian
He (married btw) works in an office at a university. Some (also married) coworker he had a 30 second conversation with has been his limerent object for the past two years or so. (Limerence is like a crush on steroids)
He goes weeks not talking to her, ignoring her hoping she’ll get jealous but you can tell he’s some dude at her office whose last name she doesn’t know.
He starts projecting on her, deciding she’s emotionally manipulative and rude.
He posts about their ridiculously mundane office conversations as if they’re dripping with meaning and frequently mentions her seductive eyes.
You can tell she barely know anything about him because he’s just some guy she passes in the hallway but can’t understand how she “doesn’t know such a well known detail about me but I know a lot about her?” Because you’ve been stalking her, bro.
Oh btw this winner seems to want to cheat on his wife with any woman who is polite and makes eye contact.
She tells him she is trying for a baby which he takes as a sign she trusts him and is confiding in him. She eventually gets pregnant.
Where does that leave us? As I’ve been following his posts for a couple months, it appears he has gone into Despair Mode right around the time she was due to give birth. He hasn’t posted much in the last month & wont elaborate on his feelings.
Imagine. Just imagine you’re this woman and you stumble upon this guy’s post history and you recognize yourself and realize some guy you barely chit chat with in the office has been stalking you and having a fantasy relationship with you this entire.

Again, I'm so baffled by this. Sarah is a professional journalist. She works at New York Magazine. She could have spent five minutes sending an email to The Atlantic and the magazine would have shared what it shared with me. What is the point of this? https://t.co/XTKry8Fmfu

Used OCR so it might not be accurate:
Freedom of speech on the Internet in the United States will be permanently broken unless alt-tech creates a stronghold together. The underlying infastructure that makes up the Internet has been mapped out and attacked. A single dedicated person can deny thousands of people a platform online. No person or company is safe from this attack vector and it works anywhere in the world.
The Kiwi Farms, as a US-legal web service with its own hardware and Internet resources, is having trouble staying online because of persistent, line-crossing harassment perpetrated by Liz Fong-Jones with bankrolling and support from Honeycomb, a San Francisco tech company he works for as a C-Level executive.
The Kiwi Farms and my person have never been accused of any crime by any level of US law enforcement. We have never lost a lawsuit. We operate transparently and within the boundaries of the First Amendment and US Law. Despite this, Liz has taken it upon himself, under the banner his company, to do the following:
Directly contact ISPs to lie about the Kiwi Farms, alleging criminal behavior and insinuating threats unless we are deplatformed.
If those ISPs do not relent, the family of datacenter employees become targets. I was informed a wife of an ISP C-level executive was contacted directly by Liz Fong-Jones at early morning hours for what he called a "girl talk"
If the ISPs still don't relent, he then goes after the datacenter directly, and insist the defamatory claims that we are a criminal enterprise, again insinuating threats.
If those datacenters do not relent, their families also become targets. I am aware an engineer's wife lost her job in a completely different industry because of harassment directed towards her employer.
If there's no women to attack, he then goes after the other clients of the datacenter, involving them so that they also start complaining and threatening to move as to hurt the business.
To the best of my knowledge, this comes almost entirely from Liz Fong-Jones, through paper mail, telephone calls, and his honeycomb.io email, but it is very hard to get direct confirmation. These scare tactics work such that once people cut us off, I am rarely even given an explanation. What I am told is done anonymously through underlings in the company.
Liz Fong-Jones and his company have done a very good job of intimidating people into submission and keeping them quiet.
This effort is to hide a r*pe accusation. We have archived Liz Fong-Jone's direct admission that a person in Zurich accused him of some form of sexual assault. His strategy was to minimize this sexual assault claim as a mere "consent accident’, and downplay it as a bizarre misunderstanding over dog hair. It is not possible to know the specifics of the original claim because all evidence, except Liz Fong-Jones' tweets admitting it happened, have been removed from the Internet.
This crusade started in 2018, when Liz Fong-Jones (then as an employee of Google) used his corporate [email protected] email address to intimidate my email provider. This was to protect Trans LifeLine from evidence we hosted, showing that their company was embezzling money. This claim was true, and the directors were ousted for inuring more than $300,000 of charity funds for personal expenses - a value which has been filed with the IRS under penalty of perjury, confirming what the Kiwi Farms had documented for months, and which Liz Fong-Jones attempted to cover up.
When ISPs want to help us, datacenters can censor them. When datacenters want to help us, Internet backbones (Zayo, Cogent, GTT, NTT) can censor them. When we have an ISP, Datacenter, and contracts with backbones to stay online, the organized abuse towards other customers can still force them to censor us.
There are two possible solutions to this:
1. Legal protections forcing carriers to be content neutral so that when threatened they can claim "I legally cannot deplatform this service", and/or
2. A content neutral carrier platform in the US supported by a collection of alt-tech companies where such threats do not work.
There are various datacenters in the US with dignity, but they have little choice when their careers, companies, and families are under attack by dangerous perverts. Unless alt-tech companies like Rumble, Odysee, Gab, and so on identify a few locations and unionize together against corporate-sponsored anarcho-tyranny, the rot will become so great that no website or startup which defies the will of this mob will ever be allowed to grow.
There is nothing preventing this attack on less offensive services. Given enough time and opportunity, it will happen to you.
‘And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If...if..We didn't love freedom enough. And even more - we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”

Back in the day I used to do Mechanical Turk like work assessing search engine quality. There were very detailed guidelines about what made a search engine good, compiled into a like 250 page document Google had been curating and updating over the course of years.
One of the key concepts was the idea of a "vital" result for a user request. If a user had a specific request, the search engine had to deliver that content first. For example, simpson.com at the time was a malicious website. With this in mind, if the user searched for "simpson.com", the first result had to be simpson.com, even if the search engine is returning a malicious page. It's specifically what the user requested. We aren't supposed to question what the user wants. The results that followed after could provide suggestions of what else the user may be looking for, like the official Simpsons website.
I would love to see whatever shreds of this document is left at this point, and I'd love to know at what point the entire thing was thrown into the trash and rewritten. I assume somewhere around the year 2016 or 2020. I know this is nothing shocking to a lot of people, but it really does amaze me just how bad things have gotten. I've stuck to the major search engines because despite peoples bitching, for a long time they consistently outperformed the smaller competitors, but they are genuinely without hyperbole almost unusable now.
Example: I wanted to find the recent Tucker Carlson - Vladimir Putin interview. It's a newsworthy interview with a world leader and a current event. There is a very specific video I'm looking for, the published, official video of sitting down and asking questions.
Here is what google returns in a private window:
The very first piece of content - the "vital result" - is clickbait youtube cute twinkry from Time What are the keeraZIEST moments from the interview?!?
The rest of the results are a cascade of editorialized garbage, opinionated news articles reporting on the requested content. God forbid a careless user actually be exposed to a primary source.
The closest result to what I'm looking for is about over 10 pieces of content deep - the transcript of the interview from Russia's state website. Likely this is an oversight.
Here is Bing:
There's been some meme going around that "no really guys, Bing is actually kinda good now believe it or not".
This is even more nonsense than Google. The most prominently featured content is, of course, more editorialized bullshit with the interview itself nowhere to be found. But also half of the content is just completely irrelevant crap I didn't ask for. Why is the entire right half of the page a massive infobox about Tucker and his books and quotes? Why am I seeing something about Game of Thrones?
Brave:
You get the point. More useless crap. It gets half a point for its AI accidentally revealing that tuckercarlson.com is where the interview is located, but this doesn't count. The actual search results are all garbage. Thanks Brave for showing me all the latest reddit discussions
Yandex:
Was that really so fricking hard? Result #1 - the interview from Tucker Carlson. Past the interview are news articles and images - things of waning utility that other users may be interested in. But the vital result is at the top of the page. That's fricking it. This would have been the required order for the page on Google ten years ago.

I lost count after punch no. 6. His GF pulled him back long enough for me to stumble away, but not far enough as he broke away from her and went for another series of blows. About 15 in total I think?
Well hopefully they caught the guy
Samaritans came to aid and called 911, with the guy dragging the woman away screaming. Last I heard while sitting in Virginia Hospital Center he'd not yet been caught.
The dude is probably going to beat his foid even harder that night
Assuming ArlingtonVaPD catches him, I want to persue #RestorativeJustice. I want programs to deal with such anger & possibly substance abuse. Jail doesn't fix people - it just releases problems back out into society even worse than when they went in.
Surely anger management classes will make him stop beating women
Only real worry r/n is losing out on hourly part-time work I just started & I don't yet have health insurance, so I may be f*cked. Ambulance & CAT scan are not cheap. Plus my career plans of being a male model are now trashed. 🕺🚫

I buried her in the backyard with her favorite toy.
After narrowly surviving her risky surgery, Eerie unfortunately was diagnosed with terminal cancer/small cell lymphoma. Since she was so young for this to happen (only approx. 8 y/o) there was a good chance she would live to be 10 with treatment.
But, despite the best efforts of many wonderful veteranarians (as well as the invaluable cat wisdom in regards to finding those vets from @dramasexual), it wasn't successful unfortunately and Eerie mostly stopped eating and drinking the day before yesterday due to the cancer so I had to put her down to keep her from suffering. My parents just put down their old dog recently and the mobile vet who'd done that made an exception for me despite being off on Easter to come to my home and help Eerie and I couldn't be more grateful.
Thanks to everyone whos showed her so much love over the past few years, I can't even make a list because it would be too long. I so greatly appreciate everyone and have done my best to pay the love forward.
Also please stop being so terrible to each other.

The man in the photos is Daniel Penny, who last year put a repeat criminal in a choke hold after the guy started threatening to kill people on the subway. In the process the man, who had been arrested multiple times prior, including for assaulting two elderly people and a minor died.
Instead of giving the guy a medal for helping his fellow citizens out New York decided to arrest and prosecute him for murder.
Now, you might make the mistake of thinking this will be a wake up call for coastal libs and progressives, but as someone who lives in Los Angeles I can assure you will never find a bigger group of absolutely r-slurred cucked people then those that live in Deep Blue cities. Y'all prolly heard bout this incident. It's proper for gentiles to remain ignorant, but a friend asked for an explanation so, having already decided to write it up, I'll let you in on the tea.
The Beginning
Orthodox Jews fall into three camps.
1. Modern Orthodox: follow halacha (jewish law) but have jobs, wear modest secular clothing, shake foids' hands (eg. Ben Shapiro)
2. Yeshivish: most have jobs, wear 1950s clothing, usually won't shake with women unless pressured to
3. Chassidish: many don't work, wear 1850s clothing, don't shake
Obviously other differences exist.
Hasidism started as a pietist movement in the 1700s. Chosids all follow a spiritual leader named a Rebbe who holds court and is basically a king or dynast. Bobov hassids follow the Bobover Rebbe, Amshinov chasidim follow the Amshinover, etc. It's an inherited position. Sometimes the old rebbe appoints one son as the heir, sometimes he splits his following between sons (one in New Jersey, one in Israel, etc), sometimes he doesn't say much and there's a leadership dispute.
Sometimes a rebbe dies without a successor and a new one never arises. These are called "dead hasidim"
Chabad-Lubavitch
One of the oldest khasidic dynasties. They get their name from the town of Lyubovichy, in white Ruthenia, where many of the early Rebbes held court.
The 6th - or Frierdiker - Rebbe died without a son.
His son-in-law inherited. Guy you might have seen before.
Menachem Mendel Schneersohn: the Rebbe.
An extremely beloved, interesting, and powerful leader. At 17 he'd already memorized the entire Talmud - thousands of pages of dense and obscure Aramaic - with commentary. The author of hundreds of books, innumerable letters and speeches. He founded thousands of institutions.
During his life the Rebbe had fled from the Soviet Union, the Nazis, France. In New York, he made his court at a building in the neighborhood of Brooklynn - today bougie and expensive, then working-class.
The address? 770 Eastern Parkway. A building so iconic in Judaism it's known simply as 770.
Chabad's Mission
The Rebbe saw that many Jews by the 60s and 70s had only a minimal connection to their religion due to American integration and other negative spiritual factors. Most were far from the fold not on account of a deep seated atheistic conviction but because their parents had integrated, were overcome by their desires, feared antisemitism and wanted to spare their kids, or whatever. They were like infants captured by idolaters in battle - a halachic status which made them unaccountable for their transgressions done in ignorance
Many Orthodox Jews were sad but dismissive of the plight of their misguided brethren, seeing it as a lost cause. Most Orthodox shuls did not do outreach, have special programming, or do anything else for secular Jews.
Not the Rebbe. He sent dozens of his devoted followers to every city in the US and many outside of it, especially places with no Orthodox community.
They wouldn't charge for access to the house of worship (common in most other synagogues) or wait for Jews to come by - instead, the Rebbe's emissaries (shluchim) would go to Jews where they were and bring mitzvos to them. This is called mivtzoyim.
In the process Chabad shliachs had to deal with many novel things like learning English, interacting with scandalously clad women, etc. They did so admirably, remaining true to halacha while tactfully navigating the secular world.
The Rebbe's campaigns led to tens of thousands of Jews and Jewish families returning to Judaism and are seen as an unmitigated success across the Jewish world, inspiring most other denominations and branches to start their own outreach programs, and even forcing secular Jewish movements like reform and conservative to put on fun events lest their congregants desert en masse. Many of the returnees joined Chabad-Lubavitch and became disciples of its chassidus. Even secular and non-observant businessmen donate to it as part of the mitzvah of helping a fellow Jew.
Trouble in Paradise
During the 90s, the Rebbe, already an old man, got sick.
His followers were in great torment. Nobody had inspired this much fervor - nobody could ever fill his shoes. Especially as the Rebbe had no sons or daughters - all klal Israel (the Jewish nation) were his children.
Many chabadniks even believed he was moshiach. Note that this isn't a deity or the "son of" a deity, whatever that means, in Jewish thought:
A king will arise from the House of David, who is learned in Torah and occupied in the observance of commandments as David his ancestor. He will compel all of Israel to walk in the way of the Torah and reinforce the breaches (in its observance). And he will fight the wars of G-d.
One who accomplishes these things is a potential moshiach and deserves to be followed. The actualized moshiach:
Is victorious over the nations around him. And he builds the Temple in his place. And he gathers the dispersed of Israel.
On an infamous day in 1994 - Gimmel (3rd) Tammuz by our calendar - the Rebbe died.
The Chabad community were thrown into disarray. Emotions ran high and within each community, every group, each family of Chabad, people reacted very differently.
Some were sad but accepted it. They would keep the memory and teachings of the Rebbe alive, without central leadership, but fulfilling his mission. Yes, he was worthy of being moshiach, but had died, which according to the majority view, renders one unfit for the status.
Others refused to believe it. The Rebbe was moshiach. Either he had died and would be resurrected or hadn't died at all. Maybe the tomb was empty... They became known as meshichistim (messianics) - the first group, as antis.
An extremely small proportion of the second - mostly women, ignorants, and the insane - went as far as to claim, contrary to all halacha and Jewish thought, that not only was the Rebbe moshiach, he was even, heaven forfend, G-d himself.
History enjoyers will note the parallel to the passing of a certain oily fellow of the 0s
Lubavitch Today
The movement was split. In such an environment christians disaffiliate from each other and muslims wage jihad. We close ranks. All Israel is one nation, one family, and even a big disagreement like this is not enough to cause bloodshed or enmity. (Paul's mistake was bringing in gentiles. Shat the whole thing up)
Chabadniks agreed to maintain their institutions - synagogues, study halls, houses of learning, charities, etc. - by consensus.
Mostly, it worked.
In general, the majority of Chabad adherents are, in public, anti; the most egregious claimants otherwise are technically shunned by the movement. In their own settings, most do affirm that the Rebbe was or is moshiach. There's a push-pull between emphasizing his holiness (+ messi) and not turning off the entire world with crazy claims (+ anti)
The older ones, who actually knew him as a living man, are more likely to be anti. The much larger younger generation - a hasidish movement's demographics are closer to Niger's than anywhere western - lean messianic. Like the wokies of the western world, meshichistim wormed their way into many of Chabad's educational centers to spread their ideology to gullible youth.
The worst mashichistim attend or attended the Chabad yeshiva in Tzfat, in Israel. An institution that was extremely subverted by the aforementioned process. Lubavitchers from the land of Israel tend to be much more messianic than American ones for sociological reasons I don't feel like getting into. Double whammy.
Many of the tzfatis go putting up stickers like these:
Tunnels under 770
770 itself has faced a lot of issues. As the center of the Chabad world, every claimant wanted it, or at least a piece of the pie. This featured acrimonious legal cases and battles, both in the Jewish juridical system and secularly.
After many years, a court gave ownership to a consortium of educators and general representatives of the worldwide movement.
In practice, the synagogue - which every devout chabadnik has been to, prayed at, and loves - is governed or controlled by gabbaim, who are older, respected men. However, many bochurim (unmarried youth) visit and live there or nearby for a year. It's a popular program within the chosidus. Israelis especially get special religious visas just to come and study at 770.
You can see where this is going.
Over time, the number of worshippers, and especially meshichistim, at 770 has built up very high. One factor is the birth rates, which of themselves would mean an increasingly crowded building. More to the point, messianics revere the Rebbe's building more than antis. Also, certain gabboim at 770 encourage meshichism. It brings in donations to the site specifically, instead of the rest of Chabad's institutions. Lastly, tzfaty youngsters who overly revere the Rebbe - many descended from recent returnees to Judaism or from broken family backgrounds - have a huge presence at the site.
Everyone agrees 770 needs expanded, but the planning and permits process to expand a building in New York City, the den of the Democrats, is not fast or easy at the best of times. Imagine with the decentralized state of the Chabad movement today. Many of the meshichistim in particular believe the Rebbe gave them an order to expand the building.
At some point over the past couple of years, some of these bochurim decided enough was enough. They found an abandoned mikveh (Jewish ritual bath) nearby and dug a long butt, big butt tunnel from it to the shul. Furnished with beds, a study hall, etc.
Recently the building commission, fire department or some other fake jobs program found out and got mad. Apparently it's a structural risk to the building
They shut down the lower story and brought in cement mixers. The bochurim responded by rioting and disconnecting the cement mixers
The NYPD came in, evacuating the whole building til further notice and arresting dozens of bochurim.
Now everyone's mad. The elders are realizing the problem with letting meshichism spread so easily and widely among the young. Many think Chabad needs to recentralize or at least establish a committee capable of handling issues. The bochurim are upset their friends got arrested for a righteous cause. Everyone hates that a couple of youngsters are making Chabad and the Jewish people look bad. This is a big deal in Judaism as it leads people to desecrate and disrespect G-d, who is after all G-d of the Jews in particular (and the world in general). The cops, being antisemites. are glad they got to arrest Jews: the only winners in this debacle.
Now you know the whole story. The vids are worth a watch if you wanna see bochurim hit cops with benches

Marsey kills LGBT cats so that LGBT cats will get support from the public. Will it work? Marsey doesn't know. I thought of the idea for the comic about a week ago. It was based on a reddit comment. Sorry for the wordswordswords in the last panel. I didn't know how else to convey the idea.
This is my second Marsey comic. This was my first. (Image link) I hope to see more Marsey comics from rDrama. I originally wanted to try a new art style without solid shading, but I didn't do it because I rushed to finish the comic before the Halloween event ended.

1. Marsey stands next to a dead rainbow (LGBT) cat with an axe. A scared rainbow cat runs away from her.
2. Rainbow cat: "Why do you hate us so much that you want to kill us?" (The rainbow cat is lying in a corner and crying. Marsey's shadow is cast over the rainbow cat.)
3. Marsey: "Hate you?" (Marsey looks confused.)
4. Marsey: "I'm doing this because I support you!" (Marsey cheerfully points at a poster titled "How 2 help LGBT". It says "1. Kill LGBT 2. LGBT gets sympathy and support =) [uptrend graph] <3".)

So this past weekend, the Pokemon World Championship happened in Japan. It's where the biggest nerds best players gather to compete for the title of world champion in the various Pokemon games. The oldest and probably most prestigious of these contests is VGC - the video game championship. It's exactly what you'd expect: people use the newest mainline games (Scarlet and Violet at this time), bring six mons and battle each other. For reasons only The Pokemon Company (TPC) understands, instead of using these six mons to battle one-on-one as most players would suspect and as 99% of these games play, the VGC format is choose-four-out-of-six and use them in a double battle (2-on-2). While this is a bit of a tangent, the important takeway is this: TPC does not particularly care about competitive play, it does not have its finger on the pulse of the community and is frankly pretty much r-slurred when it comes to handling the biggest media franchise on the planet.
But this year, they did something truly heinous - they actually tried to stop cheating.
Gotta catch 'em all - or do you?
Competitive Pokemon has a bunch of boring rules, but the relevant one for this drama is one that has existed in a form similar to this since the very beginning:
As a little background, Pokemon games have been hacked for a long time. And as early as 2002 (probably earlier, not gonna bother checking ), people figured out what 0s and 1s you need to build a little monster. This resulted in programs like PokeGen, where you can easily generate (or "gen" as it will be commonly called) a Pokemon with whatever moves, abilities and stats you want with the click of a button. I really cannot overstate how simple this process is. Naturally, this is a big help for people really serious about battling: no need to bother with all that tedious catching, training and breeding of perfect Pokemon, you can just cheat and get them instantly. Of course this goes against the spirit of the series and the fairness of the competition, hence the rule against manipulated mons. And surely TPC with all its money and influence is very serious about checking and enforcing this rule, right? Well, no. In its usual incompetence, TPC did little to nothing to inspect for manipulated mons. Aside from checking if your Charizard has Hydro Pump, they really didn't care. And without punishment, people started cheating. A lot. Here is someone analysing teams from last year showing just how widespread cheating had become, especially in the West:
Note that these checks could easily been done by TPC itself to stop the most obvious offenses, but they choose not do that. Until this year.
TPC, in a move I can only assume was sheer coincidence, actually realised that as part of their relatively new Pokemon Home service (a storage for all your Pokemon to move them between games), they 'tag' Pokemon that have been stored. Among other things, this tag can tell if a Pokemon had its stats changed in an impossible way since Home last saw it and, perhaps more importantly, it also shows that any mon that would require a transfer through Home (such as those only available in older games) yet lacks a Home tag was obviously injected into the game through illegtimate means. And for once, they actually used the tools at their disposal to check for cheating. And the result was LOTS of top players getting disqualified.
The drama or "what do you mean I can't cheat?!"
Now in any other game, you'd think that cheaters getting ousted is a good thing and the community would celebrate. But not in the VGC community. Almost 20 years of almost completely punishment-free cheating have made the practice so widespread and accepted, players actually grew entitled to it. Here's one demanding respect for his noble non-effort:
Well that's silly, surely there are more reasonable takes. Ah yes, this looks better.
I tried trading for the mons with a reputable trader, but the mons didn't pass
Here's the paste I was gonna use, sorry y'all. I'll do better next time
Just calm acceptance, surely a role model for the com-
We know that Pokémon can't do this with the primary genning method being a third party software.
A bunch of people sympathetic towards cheaters because, you know, they paid money to be there and stuff and obviously nothing is their fault
I honestly feel awful for the people who spend $1000s to compete at Worlds to then just get DQ'd.
Some true competitors display a real sigma grindset and try to get legit mons at the event at the last second:
(this is not actually the context of this image but it popped off and is funny so there you have it )
Now as people kept bitching about being disqualified and it started to cause a fuss on twitter X, naturally a lot of more casual observers became involved. And of course, those more casual observers saw people cheating, saw they got disqualified and started to wonder just what exactly the problem was here? Isn't this supposed to happen? Our brave competitors were quick to adapt of course - they needed a justification. And they found one in accessability. Clearly, expecting people to actually go through the effort to catch and train your mons legitimately is totally unreasonable:
Expecting people to put some time into their hobby when they're trying to be the best in the world?! Oh the audacity!
Aside from the time investment, a bunch of people also tried to argue that's it's just way too expensive to compete. It costs like, 200 bucks a year. Who can possibly afford that for a hobby?
But again, people quickly pointed out that a person buying tickets to fly to tournaments all around the world can probably also afford to actually buy the fricking games they wish to compete in and that the Pokemon games have made it increasingly easy to build a competitive team. Gone are the days were your IVs (your Pokemon's genes, basically) were set in stone. Every game throws more shit at you that makes catching and training mons in exactly the way you want more and more accessible. But our brave cheaters have an answer to everything:
Note: Shininess makes a Pokemon have an unusual color and is completely irrelevant in battle. While I'm sure this person included this in jest, it's still very funny to include it in your super serious list to justify cheating.
And if all else fails, there's always one completely bulletproof defense - "who cares lmao" :
I would say cheaters getting banned is a very good look for any game, but that's just me.
Yeah man who cares that training and building your team is supposed to be part of the competition. He clicked the buttons so shut up.
No blunder not you too I actually really like your content Though he hasn't played an actual mainline game in a decade so it's expected I guess
Though that last post raised an interesting point, which others also noticed - you could get disqualified for using a Pokemon someone traded with you, not knowing it's illegitimate. But how could this happen? Surely there's a way for you to check if your Pokemon is legit? Surely TPC would prohibit these trades and use the same checks it uses for tournaments to also check mons ingame?
As it turns out, TPC in their endless incompetence just tells people to not use one of the core features and selling points of the franchise - trading:
Just a little side note to keep you updated in the stellar performance of TPC to do anything.
Side drama
Not content with only one dramatic event, TPC really raised the bar this weekend by also failing to properly set up their consoles, leading to disconnects and sudden deaths.
And to top it all off, at the end of the event they announced the location for the world championship next year - HAWAII
Aside from people feeling it is somewhat poor timing, it also lead to a sizeable donation from TPC to the hawaiian recovery. Of course, this also invited the usual suspects to tell people to boycott the event because the natives hate tourism and it ruined their island and imperialism and all that stuff. You know the drill, typical twitter lefty stuff. Not really unique to Pokemon so I don't wanna get into it. Knock yourself out if you really care.
Conclusion
/vp/, 4chan's Pokemon board, summed it up like this:
In my personal opinion, this is a good move. While I sympathise with the people who really only care about battling, the fact of the matter is that Pokemon games ship as monster catching, training and battling games. The first two aspects are kind of a big deal. Gotta catch 'em all is the fricking tagline (or was). If you truly don't enjoy these aspects, that's too bad. Pokemon Showdown is a pretty popular Pokemon battle simulator. Just play there if you don't want to bother with the rest. Of course, then you lack the prestige of the official Pokemon world champion, but guess what? If you want to be the best Pokemon trainer, you need to actually train your Pokemon. That's the fantasy these games are selling. Deal with it.
PS: This was my first effortpost, be nice.

The scrote then complains to the girlboss that she cost him $70 due to cancelation fee. Girlboss then says it's his fault for poor planning and he should have taken into accoint her needs
