Male health advocate wonders if we gave women too many rights

Why is dating so much harder now than in the past? What Changed?

Was dating just as hard 40 years ago?

Is it that women work and have careers now so they aren't reliant on men? When less women worked, their life was dependent on looking pretty and finding a man. Now they can support themselves. Is that why it's impossible to find dates?

Finding out what changed in that time may help point to a solution to the male loneliness epidemic that is really hurting men right now. Men used to be the gatekeepers for relationships but now women have that and they are being withholding and borderline cruel. It is really damaging men and I think we need to come up with why it happened and how to solve it.

CONTEXT:

For many South Africans :marseyflagsouthafrica: and Burgerlanders :eaglebikini: :carpsaluteusa: there are often cross-cultural shock when they realize each other's nation have legally-enforced or conversely the absence of, what is known as Gas Station Attendants.

Similarly many safrican tourists, those wealthy enough not to have their rands r*ped too harshly by the powerful bad exchange rate of the Rand-to-Dollars $ - instead find out that not only is it normalized that yanks fricking pour into their tanks their own petrol/diesel, and that they are pretty much expected to do so on their own!

In Burgerland, there are often videos about stupid women :marseywomanmoment2: :marseywomanmoment: trying and failing to pour in petrol into their vehicles

This is something which few Safricans would ever witness, as official petrol-station employees are the ones who fill up your gas and shit.

FILLING STATION ATTENDANTS:

Now in Burgerland, Gas Station Attendants are officially instead called "Filling station attendants". And their slang term for them are "gas jockeys" or at least so in North America. I'm told Canadians also use the term Gas Jockeys, but I can't confirm that, some Leafs :marseyrake: :marseymaid: dramatards will have to confirm.

Now what's notable for Burgerland is that Gas Jockeys do exist in the modern day, but are very rare, and only exist in a select few States or municipal regions (yanks call these Counties).

Now just like modern day South African Gas Station Attendants, these gas jockeys would basically do services outside of just accepting payment (which are done usually by lone gas-station attendants just accepting cash if even cards aren't swiped on the yank petrol-pump itself). These other services would be stuff like cleaning windshields, checking the client's remaining oil and water levels, pumping their tires for air on request, or in really fricking old vehicles/trucks cranking the shafts, and other stuff which franchise petrol-stations offer services to attract customers to their specific branded petrol-stations.

Now Gas Jockies used to be more prevalent in Burgerland, but their utilization would decline by the time the 1970s arrived, punctuated when Burgerland would have a gas-shortage crisis

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/1970s-gas-shortages-changed-america-180977726/

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935102891665.webp

Consequently the businesses most hardest hit by these gasoline-shortages would be the stations themselves, which suffered decades long layoffs and cost-cutting with intensity, within 10 years the american culture of widespread gas attendants would basically cease. Many "Full-service gas-stations" would close, aka those stations with Gas Jockies, and basically in the majority of Burgerland states only "self-help stations", aka the modern most widespread gas stations in Amerika, would become the norm. In most of the West like Europe, "self-help stations" are pretty much the norm also, and it is in fact the "Full-service gas-stations" (the stations with attendants) which are the outlier and aberration, ESPECIALLY in america.

There are as far as I can tell, only two states in USA where "Full-service gas-stations" are still in widespread use in modern Burgerland. The yank states of New Jersey and Oregon.

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935105047634.webp

The histories I don't know why, but basically both states had local municipal laws in the 1950s enforcing that "self-help stations" would be illegal, and thus were the only two states which survived the death of the "Full-service gas-stations" culture in the 1970s gasoline shortage crisis, as "self-help stations" were not legally allowed to outcompete them.

======

It is a common joke and stereotype that peeps from the state of New Jersey don't know how to fill in their own gas, as their particular municipal regions have banned "self-help stations", and consequently arrive clueless as to what to do in all the other adjacent States' petrol stations.

SOUTH AFRICA!

Now hilariously the modern Republic of South Africa is only one of the only 3 nations upon this earth which have legally recognized working occupations known as a "Gas Station Attendants".

Or to put it more specifically, it is one of the only 3 nations on Earth which have governmental law which influence or ban the use of "self-help stations" within their Nation State in some form or another!

Combinations of "self-help stations" and "Full-service gas-stations" do exist on other parts of the globe, but these are driven by the economic or social trends and conventions of their respective nations, where there are both found even in modern places like Western Europe, and are not directed by the laws of their nation states.

These nations are Burgerland (the 2 mentioned States), South Africa........and Brasilia!! :marseymacacosalute: !macacos

For South Africa, this was enacted back in the 1990s, during the Nelson Mandela Administration and the Thabo Mbeki Administrations for the sake of Job Creation, as there was intense levels of joblessness even back then. The Western liberal democracies' sanctions against the Union of SA's Apartheid State had crippled the country, and had obliterated the wealth of many businesses and farms, unfortunately sanctions tend to be a blunt instrument and all races were equally economically traumatized by the sanctions from the 1980s to 1992.

As part of their initiatives of job creation by the ANC, many new jobs were deemed to be created on the most compulsory industries, such as anything related to the fuel industry.

Many Mayos :marseymayo: would b-word about these new Job Creation initiatives, as they believed that many peeps were given junk jobs just to fill out uniforms and create nonsense jobs - jobs which maybe paid for the new employees of the state, but added no benefit to the economy or aided the new nation. Most criticized of these new types of jobs was the Gas Station Attendant, once again because Mayo Boomers were used to pumping their own shit, and now had to have someone do it for them?? What a useless job! :carpboomer:

"Full-service gas-stations" had existed before, but they weren't a nationally legalized requirement. :purerage: None were more pissed by this ruling than Petrol Station owners themselves, as they suddenly found themselves with massively exorbitantly increased labour costs involved.

In fact the nature of South African :platyaboriginal: :platyaboriginal: :platyaboriginal: Petrol Stations would drastically change due to this nationalization of the Gas Station Attendant job. Before 1990s, many individually owned "Mom-and-Pop" Gas Stations existed in SA, but these new regulations would mean only national scale chain and franchise Gas Station companies would be able to afford continual operation as Gas Stations, especially as Petrol Tax would also increase under the new ANC regime.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/m/momandpop.asp

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935108353038.webp

In fact for modern Gas Stations, they basically make ZERO :emptyset: profit via the sale of petrol alone, and all Gas Station franchise basically make their money via their convenience-stores and road-restaurants and shops attached next to the sets of gas pumps. All "Mom-and-Pop" gas stations would go extinct due to the creation of the Gas Station Attendant job, or be bought out by massive conglomerate chains such as Sasol, Shell, Total, Engen, and BP

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935109875102.webp

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935113168614.webp https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935113863351.webp https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935114447715.webp

Yet in spite of all the bitching, most Petrol Station companies and owners would pivot to preferring the use of Gas Station Attendants as South Africa would become increasingly more dysfunctional and crime ridden, and the Police became increasingly more corrupt and worthless, by the time 2005 rolled in, and the corruption of the ANC became rampant.

Basically it would become financial suicide to ever operate "self-help stations" as they would be robbed blind within a fortnight, or their utilities and equipment destroyed by douchbags and malcontents. Minibus taxis and crime syndicates would prove themselves especially prone to fricking stealing petrol wholesale by literally pumping out the petrol of gas stations right out of their pumps via portable generators and tanks.

https://businesstech.co.za/news/motoring/604708/new-fuel-theft-trend-to-look-out-for-in-south-africa/

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935116783092.webp

A very common form of theft, especially in places like Cape Town with limited parking behind fences in the cramped city, is for thieves to bust open the petrol-cap, and literally suck out the petrol/diesel right out of your vehicle in the middle of the night, and for the poor luckless owner to climb into his car, and realize to their dismay their fuel gage is fricking empty overnight!! :marseyhatium: :marseyhatium: :marseyhatium:

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935119405348.webp

Thus modern RSA Gas Station owners and companies basically very much prefer to have their own employees pour gas, as the average South African is absolutely untrustworthy to not be a thief, or just a Tsotsi delinquent who'll frick up your pumps and equipment after single use!

Basically it's unthinkable for South Africans to live in world where Self-Help Stations exists such in Burgerland, and Safricans tourists get culture shock when the visit, not because they can't figure out how to pump their own gas, but because they are like: WHAT IF SOMEBODY STEALS THE GAS WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING :marseypearlclutch: :marseypearlclutch: :marseypearlclutch:

====(from iol article)

Cape Town - The nationwide petrol attendant strike has seen calls for big oil companies to consider installing self-service pumps at their petrol stations.

But while the move would put South Africa in line with First World economies such as the US and UK, industry experts have warned that adoption of the pumps locally could result in widespread unemployment.

Self-service pumps were first introduced in the 1970s. Initially the system was built on trust, with motorists filling up before paying at the station's shop.

But this quickly made way for the credit card-based system which has been proposed for South Africa. According to the Cape Chamber of Commerce's Michael Bagraim, the โ€œswipe systemโ€ would be best for the country. This would see pumps activated by the swipe of a credit, debit or dedicated petrol card before motorists could manually refuel their cars.

The US has almost unilaterally adopted the same system, and over the past three years, stations in developing countries such as India, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates have begun rolling it out.

Temporary petrol attendant Craig Felix, who has been filling in during the strike, said self service was a massive safety concern.

โ€œI wouldn't like to have to get out of my car to put petrol in. It's not safe in some areas.โ€

Avhapfani Tshifularo, executive director of the South African Petroleum Industry Association, said self service would simply not work in the country. โ€œNobody is allowed to fill up his own tank at a petrol station according to the law which protects 70 000 jobs at a retail level.โ€

For Mxolisi Ratsibe, head of employee relations at the National Petroleum Employee Association, the debate boiled down to one glaring downside. โ€œJobs, jobs, jobs.โ€

Translation: South Africans on average are fricking r-slurred :marseyretard2: :marseyretard3: :marseystroke: :marseyretard: :marseygigaretard: :marseyawardretard: and even without theft concerns, are likely to break and destroy Fuel Pumps on their own, which tend to be very flammable and dangerous :marseyflamewar: :marseyflamewar: :marseyflamewar:

Now hilariously, in the past fricking Gas Jockeys would be TIPPED :marseywaiter: lmoa. Yanks are genetically predisposed to tip for everythang!

Often yank tourists suffering cultural shock when they visited Safrica about 15-20 years ago would wonder if it was customary to tip petrol attendants, since yanks were used to pour their petrol/diesel themselves and didn't know how to properly interact with such a bizarre difference in their everyday actions.

https://www.quora.com/Is-it-customary-to-tip-petrol-attendants-in-South-Africa

https://i.rdrama.net/images/17143935098694332.webp https://i.rdrama.net/images/1714393510100306.webp

Now yank tourists would tell each other to tip in RSA, but this absolutely wasn't the custom for SA locals, especially since most SA white boomers were themselves used to pour in their own gas, just as yanks were pre-democratization, and now suddenly they were expected to fricking tip some doofus doing a basic manual labour job they had easily done themselves in the past :marseywtf2: :marseyindignant:

This false view that gas attendants were only spread around by yanks because of the extremely low wages of Gas Station Attendants and the pittance yanks paid with their powerful dollars, and how shocked they were at the feeble wages south africans obtained in their daily lives.

However, even RSA tourism boards would end up dissuading yanks and other foreigners from feeling obligated to tip, because Gas Station Attendants would alter their behaviour and performance upon the expectation and receival of tips. And since local safricans, including local safrican car owners were just as relatively dirt poor, and could absolutely not afford fricking tipping upon rising petrol/diesel prices, and having lazy Gas Jockies give shit service because locals don't give tips was not something tolerated for long, and Gas-Station owners would make it clear that future behavior would have to be independent of tips henceforth.

Stupid modern yank tourists still tip in places like Cape Town, but it's not been a common thing by the late 2010s.

FINAL NOTE:

Also apparently Brasilia is equally cucked by their commie government and had implemented laws to create Gas Station Attendant jobs of up to 300 000 peeps in 2000!

Fallout season finale thoughts :marseyvault:

So for all the talk about wokery the main bug-eyed girl gets her butt repeatedly kicked throughout the series. That combined with being a good nurtured optimistic sweet girl (with a normal haircut, no cringe half-shaved head like on She-Man lol) makes Lucy as far as possible from the current year โ€œstrong female characterโ€.

Black lead is a selfish, backstabbing, lying opportunistic shithead. The Ghoul was the best character imo.

The final episode Vault-Tec plot was super nonsensical. So they built the vaults and made a lot of money, then THEY dropped the bombs! Like what? :#marseyconfused:

How on earth does Nuclear Apocalypse benefits them? Oh but we'll restart civilization! Again these business execs love moneyc prestige, and short time gains/pleasure/luxury they're not the โ€œrebuild the world at our imageโ€œ type, much less to give up all conforts to live underground. It only makes sense if the Enclave dropped the bombs and manipulated Vault-Tec execs.

And how was Moldaver still alive? Was she frozen on a vault? Was she full of shit with her anti- Vault-Tec crusade?

Just my 2c as a doctor.Generally we don't like opiates post birth due to the breast feeding risk - many women who aren't planning to breastfeed then do, so alone this cannot be considered a safety net. The risk of getting sued is so so so high (obgyn is by a mile the most litigious speciality). There is also the constipation risk which some people find excruciating. We also know that many women don't need them, for a multitude of reasons, so often not top of the agenda. There is also a very real risk of sedation and infant injury even if not breastfeeding.Counterpoint. Many opiates are quite safe and I certainly gave them regularly. But only when asked.Prescribing is extremely doctor dependant, fundamentally they hold the risk for prescription. I rarely if ever prescribe tramadol for example, to anyone, in my professional opinion the risk of abuse is too high. Many of my colleagues disagree. There definately IS an element of women getting less painkillers in this arena of medicine (tho... (1103)

Key word. Responsible doctor. The opioid epidemic happened for a reason. A bunch of doctors pushing pills getting a kick back (110)

Doctors have cracked down on prescribing since the early 2010's pill mills were in their heyday in the mid 00's and the majority shut down by 2010. Our opioid crisis is fuelled by cheap fentanyl that has flooded the streets and the economic crisis that is fuelling the despair that is driving people to spend what little they have on cheap fentanyl. The young generation dying to fentanyl now were young teens during the biggest prescribing years and a huge amount were under 10 years old. When you can get fent for 2-3$ a point or less and escape all your problems for a few hours that is what some people are going to do. The generation hit hardest by the pill mills are in their 40's to 60's now. Blaming prescribing doctors for what is going on now is like blaming the dot com bust for all of our economic issues now in 2024. (47)

I wonder if the overall trend of devaluing women's pain is exacerbated by the tendency of women to suffer in silence rather than advocate aggressively for herself. Women's ability to endure shouldn't lower the bar on how much pain relief they deserve to receive. (93)

When I tried to advocate for myself, my old doctor labeled me 'drug seeking.' A large red prompt pops up every time the ER even considers giving me painkillers, and I get Tylenol instead.Kidney stone that caused infection so severe, it could be seen on imaging, from the kidneys to the entirety of the bladder? Tylenol. I had nothing during the passing of the stone, too.Crushed tailbone so severe I couldn't walk and had to be carried in the hospital marriage style? Tylenol first, then one single shot of morphine so I could walk myself out. Was given 8 painkillers for a stated 4-8 week healing process. They lasted 4 days and my tailbone healed wrong because I couldn't 'walk like normal' and causes more current pain issues I also cannot get relief for.Chunk of tooth broke out, visibly, and with the knowledge I'd already taken roughly 40,000mgs of ibuprofen during the week prior? That's exactly how I'm seeing this too.She was prescribed the perfect painkiller regimen that -by her own admission- worked perfectly well. She also received the safer regimen. Meanwhile, the man received lower-quality healthcare with less-safe and excessively-strong controlled substances that were unneeded. She is literally mad that she was treated better than her husband, and yet believes she's still somehow the victim here. (165)

I've unfortunately had a few teeth extracted, generally following infections. The first one the pain was so bad and I couldn't see anyone for an entire weekend, and I was prescribed opiates along with the antibiotics after the tooth was extracted. The relief was indescribable as I had been in genuinely suicidal pain for almost two days. The next one I had similar, but not quite as bad pain all night, making it impossible to sleep. I ended up in an ER telling them I had a tooth infection, and I knew I had one because I've had one before, and that I needed antibiotics and something serious for the pain. They told me there were no actual signs of an infection because for whatever reason my face decided not to blow up like a balloon at that point. They gave me no antibiotics and pills which were just large doses of ibuprofen (this genuinely irritates me whenever it happens, because it's like for the love of frick I have this medication at home and can take two pills instead of one th... This is 100% the answer. OP is making sweeping generalizations about the healthcare system as a whole. And while we know that women and POC are underserved in a lot of ways, this is almost certainly a decision because of a) this specific doctor's preferences, or b) some other factor OP hasn't considered (ETA see the response from an MD further down in the comments on why a woman who has just given birth may not be prescribed narcotics - there are multiple reasons narcotics increase risk to both mom and baby, leading to providers being reluctant to prescribe them for this specific population.)OP, all you can do is bemoan that you were under-medicated or your husband over-medicated, or both. You are correct that it is unfair in this case. You can't really extrapolate to all health care cases based on your one anecdotal situation though. The general trend lately is for docs to cut back on narcotics except where truly needed because we've seen how easily people can become dependent on or... (204)

While I agree with 90% of your comment, I don't agree that it's reasonable to discharge most patients home with NO opiates after a major surgery. Hip replacements, TKAs, any other ortho or general surgery procedure are getting a narc prescription - to routinely withhold it from C section patients doesn't make sense. I am a prescriber and I personally have almost never written for more than 2-3 days worth of opiates - I'm very careful about it - but I think it's hard to argue that most opiate naive patients are going to benefit from having a short opiate prescription after a C section, at the lowest effective dose and in combination with non opiate therapy. Basically, I think it's a stretch for you to say it's "unsafe" to write for a short course of opiates after major abdominal surgery, and I would also say it's bad medicine to significantly undertreat someone's pain. The CDC agrees (and has very good guidelines on their website): Opioid therapy has an important role for acute pain ... (24)

After careful consideration over the last year, we at Blizzard have made the decision not to hold BlizzCon in 2024. This decision was not made lightly as BlizzCon remains a very special event for all of us, and we know many of you look forward to it. While we're approaching this year differently and as we have explored different event formats in the past, rest assured that we are just as excited as ever to bring BlizzCon back in future years.

Over the next few months, we'll be sharing more details about our launches coming later this year, including World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo IV's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. To celebrate these upcoming releases and to bring our communities together in new and special ways, we will soon share some exciting plans for other industry trade shows and conventions like Gamescom. We can't wait to tell you more about those plans soon. We're also looking forward to the Overwatch Champions Series' stops at both Dreamhack Dallas and Dreamhack Stockholm. And we're thrilled to be planning multiple, global, in-person events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Warcraft, which will be held in addition to the in-game celebrations across our Warcraft games throughout 2024. While these events are distinct from BlizzCon, we're harnessing all of our creativity and imagination to ensure that they carry the same spirit of celebration and togetherness.

Our hope is that these experiences โ€“ alongside several live-streamed industry events where we'll keep you up to date with what's happening in our game universes โ€“ will capture the essence of what makes the Blizzard community so special.

No matter how you choose to connect with us at these events this year โ€“ whether it be in person or virtually โ€“ we can't wait to see you there!

My guess that it's a combination of low interest, having nothing to show, and microsoft not liking live events, even though it's the 20th anniversary of WoW. I haven't been excited for a Blizzard release since Overwatch anyway. :marseyshrug:

In summary

The voice refers to โ€œungrateful Black kids who can't test their way out of a paper bagโ€ and questions how hard it is to get those students to meet grade-level expectations. The speaker uses names of people who appear to be staff members and says they should not have been hired, and that he should get rid of another person โ€œone way or another.โ€

โ€œAnd if I have to get one more complaint from one more Jew in this community, I'm going to join the other side,โ€ the voice said.

Darien was being investigated as of December in a theft investigation that had been initiated by Eiswert. Police say Darien had authorized a $1,916 payment to the school's junior varsity basketball coach, who was also his roommate, under the pretense that he was an assistant girls soccer coach. He was not, school officials said. Eiswert determined that Darien had submitted the payment to the school payroll system, bypassing proper procedures. Darien had been notified of the investigation, police said.

I am using a throwaway since I am moderator on several of the subs that have to do with my hobby of cosplay, anime and hentai.

This is one of those ones where I see my self as being 80% right but I want to be fair because honestly I depend on my parents for a lot of stuff (rent, tuition, food, car insurance).

I am huge into cosplay and gaming. It has been my dream to go to a big convention in my cosplay. A friend suggested we got to LVL UP since it has everything we like. The badges aren't super expensive but we decided we wanted to super splurge on accomodations so maybe we could host parties in our room. So the total cost of my trip including everything (airfare, room, estimate for food, badge) is about $3500. I had $2000 that I was supposed to pay towards my credit card but I decided to get the rest I would get a pay day loan this was back in march so the trip is all paid for.

I wanted to keep it a secret from my parents but I accidentally missed my first payment to the pay day loan and for some god knows how reason the people at the pay day loan place did a search for my name since I as ducking their calls until I could borrow some money from a friend and they called my parents home number looking for me (I can't even imagine this is legal!?!)

So here's the deal, I'm no like so dense that I don't understand I messed up. I mean I know that Iย NEEDย to pay my debts. But here's the deal, I mean I'm only in college once and I only get to do things like LVLUP while I'm young. I also think this was a very normal mistake and my parents should give me enough room to make mistakes and learn from them.

But my parents are freaking the heck out. My dad has basically said this is it, that after the credit card debt and my grades and now the pay day loan and missing a payment I have shown a level of irresponsibility that he can't trust me any more and I either move home to go to community college and work for his company or he cuts me off for good. As harsh as that was my mom was even worse and she literally screamed at me like cussing names and told me that they didn't raise me like this and I acting like a "spoiled Instagram butthole."

edit: just for clarification I'm 20f.

Like I said I KNOW I messed up, but am I really an butthole?

S*x is biological fact, NHS declares in landmark shift against gender ideology

Campaigners welcome change to constitution, which will ban trans women from female-only wards, as โ€˜return to common sense'

Changes to the health service's written constitution proposed by ministers will for the first time ban trans women from women-only wards, and give women the right to request a female doctor for intimate care.

The NHS constitution, a document that aims to set out the principles and values of the health service and legal rights for patients and staff, was last updated in 2015. It has to be updated at least every 10 years by the Secretary of State.

Campaigners for women's rights welcomed the significant shift, which comes after years of wrangling and follows accusations that the health service had been captured by โ€œgender ideologyโ€.

In 2021, NHS guidance said trans patients could be placed in single-s*x wards based on the gender with which they identified.

The new constitution will state: โ€œWe are defining s*x as biological s*x.โ€

The clarification means that the right to a single-s*x ward means patients would โ€œnot have to share sleeping accommodation with patients of the opposite biological s*xโ€.

Until now, no commitment was made to biological s*x, meaning some female patients complained that they were forced to share sleeping space with trans women โ€“ those who are born male but identify as female.

Health Secretary Victoria Atkins

Women's rights campaigners said the move was a โ€œreturn to common sense and an overdue recognition that women's wellbeing and safety matter.โ€

However, NHS leaders raised concerns that the health service was being โ€œdragged into a pre-election culture wars debateโ€.

The changes to the constitution are a further indication of a change in attitudes after the Cass review into the NHS's gender identity services found evidence that allowing children to change gender was built on weak foundations.

Dr Hilary Cass, a paediatrician, said allowing โ€œsocial transitioningโ€ for young people โ€“ when they are treated as the opposite gender โ€“ could โ€œchange their trajectoryโ€ and lead to them pursuing a potentially damaging medical pathway in later life.

The updates to the constitution will also include the introduction of a duty to help patients get back to work and embed โ€œMartha's Ruleโ€ into the framework of the health service.

This follows pledges by Victoria Atkins, the Health Secretary, to give families the right to access a rapid review from an outside team if a patient is deteriorating. It is named after 13-year-old Martha Mills, who died in 2021 after medics missed signs of sepsis and failed to heed warnings from her parents that their daughter's condition was getting worse.

Women will also be given the right to request that intimate care is provided, where reasonably possible, by someone of the same biological s*x.

It follows warnings that some female patients have been pressured into accepting such care from trans-identifying staff who were born male.

The proposed changes will also see discrimination requirements updated, with the word gender replaced with s*x.

Gender reassignment remains a protected characteristic, meaning that a transgender patient could be given their own room in a hospital to protect their right to a single-s*x service.

The document also places a duty on health providers to use โ€œclear termsโ€ to communicate and take account of biological differences. It follows pledges from ministers to stop NHS trusts using terms like โ€œchestfeedingโ€ and โ€œpeople who give birthโ€.

In February, Ms Atkins highlighted her concerns, telling The Telegraph: โ€œWe need to be making this robust case to refuse to wipe women out of the conversation.โ€

On Tuesday, she said: โ€œWe want to make it abundantly clear that if a patient wants same-s*x care they should have access to it wherever reasonably possible.

โ€œWe have always been clear that s*x matters and our services should respect that.

โ€œBy putting this in the NHS constitution we're highlighting the importance of balancing the rights and needs of all patients to make a healthcare system that is faster, simpler and fairer for all.โ€

Maya Forstater, chief executive of gender critical group S*x Matters, said: โ€œIt is excellent news that the NHS constitution is being revised to put โ€˜s*x' in its rightful place โ€“ at the heart of principle 1, which sets out that the NHS must treat everyone with equality and respect for their human rights.

โ€œThe confusion between โ€˜s*x' and โ€˜gender' in official policies like the NHS constitution is what has enabled women's rights to be trampled over in the name of transgender identities.

โ€œS*x, of course, is a matter of biology, not identity, and it is welcome that the NHS is now spelling this out in relation to single-s*x accommodation and intimate care.โ€

Ms Forstater said too many female patients seeking that intimate care be given by a woman had been pressured into accepting a trans-identifying male instead.

โ€œHealthcare providers have become confused and frightened by the idea that a gender recognition certificate, or even just a personal identity claim, overrides other people's rights when it comes to same-s*x care from healthcare professionals.โ€

She said the shift was โ€œsimply a return to common sense and an overdue recognition that women's wellbeing and safety matter.โ€

Matthew Taylor, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, which represents healthcare leaders, said its members would review the proposals in detail.

However, he added: โ€œWhat is absolutely clear at this stage is that a focus on high-quality care for all is maintained and that the NHS is not dragged into a pre-election culture wars debate. This is not where energies should be focused.โ€

Mr Taylor said staff worked hard to show fairness and compassion towards all patients.

โ€œIn particular, groups of people, including trans and non-binary patients, continue to receive some of the worst health outcomes of any group in our society and NHS leaders and staff will want to do all they can to support these patients, as well as their trans and non-binary staff to reduce inequalities.

โ€œWhatever changes are eventually introduced following the consultation need to be clear and workable for NHS staff, who should not expect to have to interpret ambiguous guidance at a local level.โ€

The eight-week consultation will be the first stage of a review of the constitution.

The Government will consider responses from everyone, including the public, clinicians and medical professionals, patients, carers and organisations representing patients and staff and health stakeholders, before publishing the consultation response and the new NHS constitution.

Louise Ansari, chief executive of Healthwatch England said: โ€œThe NHS constitution plays a crucial role in shaping the culture of our NHS and helping the public to know their rights.

โ€œSince the NHS constitution launched, it has helped to shift the balance of power from services towards patients and their families. But, with only a third of people knowing their rights, there is still a long way to go.

โ€œGiven the challenges our NHS faces, a conversation to reaffirm and raise awareness of the most important rights to the public has never been more timely.

โ€œWe urge everyone to take part in the consultation and have their say. This is your opportunity to send a clear message about the rights you hold most dear.โ€

Someone please ping biofoids.

Of course the Jan 6 insurrectionists had no right to be there, they should have all been arrested that day and I'm glad many have been since. There's no need to send in the military with live ammunition like in Kent State, that was an insane overreaction. The university should order the protestors to disperse, and if they don't, the police should arrest them, they should be charged with trespassing, and suspended or expelled. (4)

What you people don't realize is that this is the kind of shit that lead to the Kent State massacre in 1970. We are basically repeating history. And personally, I think both Joe Biden and Donald Trump are both too old to be President. But the Republicans must never control the Federal Government ever again. Look up Project 2025 and see what they're planning to do. It would basically take away ALL our freedom and our right to privacy. Do you really want that? (-6)

Basedness: ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜

All they need are some water hoses. Make it rain. The wokies aren't anywhere near tough enough to camp in the rain for any amount of time,. (4)

Hate to tell you this, boomer. But there's a thing called the First Amendment. If you don't believe in freedom of speech for people you don't agree with, you don't believe in freedom of speech. If you people had your way, the military would be sent and they would open fire on them. (-2)

Basedness: ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜๐Ÿ”˜

The first amendment says that the government can't restrict speech. It doesn't say you can take over space on private property, and it definitely doesn't say you can use it to harass Jewish students. The university has every right to clear out these protestors and I hope they do. (6)

What if they send in the military and it leads to another Kent State? Would you support that? And if they can't take over space on restricted property, then those who attacked the US Captiol on January 6 had no right to be there, either. (-2)

Your argument is literally "just let them kill civilians bro please just a little bro please"The Idiot here is you. Nobody is carrying for Hamas. They are carrying for the 99.99% of innocent Palestinians that have and are suffering because of the apartheid state of Israel (1)

It's not apartheid and its a war that was started by hamas, its a war they can stop at any moment they want by surrendering and returning the hostages. The palestinian people are innocent and getting bombed by the decisions made by the leaders of Gaza, Hamas. These are facts, its unfortunate the people get caught up in the meat grinder of war but thats the problem when you elect terrorists to run your country. The war is over when hamas says its over thats how war works kid. (1)

Angriness: ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก

Extremely weird how a "superior power" with the intelligence capabilities to know precisely which buildings in Gaza these Hamas fighters are hiding in (so they have a readymade excuse every time they blow up dozens of innocent boys, girls, babies, elderly, noncombatants etc to smithereens) was somehow caught completely blindsided by an invasion of their borders that took months if not years to plan. Almost as if they let it happen on purpose, so they could then raze and steal more land that doesn't belong to them exactly as they do to the Palestinians every day in the West Bank. You hasbara goons can desperately try to control the narrative all you want but the rest of the world is increasingly aware of the realities of this conflict with every passing day. You don't see a fraction of this level of support for Israel anywhere outside of the US/UK and even there it is limited to lead-brained boomers, maga cultists and miscellaneous reactionary dipshits. (1)

Gotcha, if you know its gonna happen and then let it happen its your fault.Again every step of the way you carry water for hamas, no agency for them. They were forced to attack Israel Israel was forced to attack them and now you're pretending like they didnt voluntairily leave Gaza 20 years ago. Know who else left Gaza? "Fatah", know why? Cause hamas threw them off of buildings to consolidate power.Anything else interesting happen in gaza for the past 20 years? Maybe a couple rockets? Anything at all? Defiitely no land grabs though, so whats your excuse for them now. When they start erecting settlements there i will be on your side just like i'm on the side of the palestinians in the west bank, except this war in Gaza is not that at all.Stop conflating issues. Frick hamas and the war they started. (1)

Terrorists??? Democrats and Republicans alike want to live in fascists society so badly. (0)

Actually we support Nations defending themselves from r*pe, murder and rockets. We dont support nations who attack their neighbors and then hide behind civilians while moron kids and their benefactors carry the water for Terrorists. (0)
