Humankind the "Civ killer"

I'll be honest I actually enjoy it more than Civ 6, significantly more I would say, and it's entirely possible it's not due to the honeymoon phase.

Biggest factor beingthe actually engaging combat, which is prominent in both games but in Civ 6 is super lame and boring (Civ 4 death stack were superior non ironically).

I really enjoy its core mechanics, combat, the weird culture combination you can do, the much greater freedom with city building than in later Civ's, and graphics style, that is maybe not superior to classic that is Civ 4, but is certainly far more pleasing to the eyes than that of Civ 6,

Now, the game is broken and unbalanced, so it's mixed rating is not only due to shitty release. To this day there are plenty of ways it breaks down if you do certain builds, narrative events are half-baked, and some of them are downright stupid if you think about what they are saying.

Also, my PC barely runs this game at solid ~10 fps, so that says how much I enoy the expereince.

It's still a "Civ clone".

Combat is in my opinion an immense improvement (aside of a few mechanics that can be actually a deal-breaker for some people, like the flags you need to defend). Outside of combat it's different, but still very similar to a Civ game (Civ 5+ that is).

Also, it has worse balance than Civ games and tends to break more often with some builds.

It's still just CIV with just as shitty netcode. Game also died super early on so it basically never got any updates.

Actually it got some updates even this year. It still has, and will have many problems (some of them at the core), but they did (and apparently still do) update the game, which is honestly a surprise since I'm pretty sure the game was a flop.

I like Endless Legend, the combat system is jank but it feels better than basically every other turn based 4x.

I actually haven't played either of them, I learned of their existence reading up on Amplitude studios literally last week.

So, I don't have a point of comparison with those games. I like Humankind, but I'm no game connoisseur and my point of reference is Civ 6 combat, which can be called bare bones and simple only if you are charitable. Idk. if you want me to actually describe how combat works.

I think it's important for me to emphasize that I like the game despite many of its design decisions, not because of them. It's not a Civ killer, there is going to be Civ 7 and I doubt we'll see Humankind 2.

I plan to. Their other games look interesting and have actually positive reviews unlike Humankind. I just need to get bored with what I'm playing right now.

Also, when I search for Endless Space for some reason it autosearches for Endless Space 2. Für Windows 7/8/8.1/10 (64-Bit). Why German?
