Miss flash games, there were so many hits lost to time. Used to play them after school nearly every day in the computer lab at the after school camp I used to go to when I was in elementary school. Trying to rack my brain for the best of all time. Spend most of my time on addictinggames or miniclip

Motherload was probably my favourite, we had a version without saves so I would try to get as far as I could before my parents came.

Stick rpg complete. Tons of fun, very edgy for 10 year old me. Had tons of content way more than most flash games of the time.

Happy wheels was great, lots of fun levels.

Max dirt bike, Bloons tower defense, world's hardest game, icy tower are all games I remember fondly. Also like 200000 unoriginal stick figure games. They probably weren't as good as I remember but to 10 year old me those were the peak of gaming.

Hogwarts Legacy: Was on sale. Totally what I expected, interactive Harry Potter movie with simple, not-too-challenging gameplay, fun to play through. I liked the combat more than I expected and the writing a little less than I expected.

• I was amused how the loose magickal framework of Harry Potter could explain a lot of "gamey" stuff. In many games I've seen a glowing energy barrier block me from wandering too far, and it's an immersion breaker, here, clearly a wizard did it. Or many games give you a ridiculous inventory capacity, here some scenes actually show you disappearing items into your magical inventory.

• Lesser-noted political correctness: You have a bag that functions as a Pokeball for magical creatures, but you never ever "capture" a creature, only "rescue." So many lines read like they did a find and replace on that. One creature is also a boss fight, you have to beat it into submission in order to "rescue" it.

• Loot levels with you so you're constantly churning through gear. Half the gear looks ridiculous. You can make the gear appear as any piece you have but I got tired of that. So the end of many side quests was "Hello Questgiver, I went to the Dangerous Location and tracked down your Loved One, sorry, they are dead" but they deliver that dressed like this or worse.

• The main friendly goblin looking like someone sat down to depict a friendly version of the Merchant.

• It is supposed to be in like 1880 but they totally fail to sell it: the familiar 1990s wizards already dress funny and mostly avoid modern technology so you can't tell the difference that way, and the writing feels mostly present-day too. They also did the kind of diversity that's like, sure, I live in NYC, last time I was at a bar I was with a Korean, a Filipino, Indians, Latinx, Mayos (even some Bongs), etc., and we all had lot of globalized/westernized culture in common. That's normal in NYC 2024, but trying to drop it into rural Scotland 1880 has an odd effect.

I have been learning how to make games in Godot, I had a killer idea for a game but then realized I have to make my own assets. So now I am stuck until I have learned how to draw.

BO1 is great, BO2 is good, BO3 is one of the worst in COD and exo suits are fricking dogshit, gave up on the second to last mission because its so bad awful. Dunno how I finished it the first time. Cold War is the best COD campaign since IW, absolutely loved it and am loving the multiplayer (took a break this season from MW23).

Tried to get back in some games I quit before:

Shadow of the tomb raider- I quit after five minutes. I just do not like these type of games (tr/uncharted) anymore.

Hifi Rush- got halfway through but the controls and movement arent great and the parry system is awful. I understand why people like it, but its not for me.

Pikmin 3 😁. I love pikmin. Took a small break after beating pikmin 2 and the qol changes are so nice.

playing ff5, the game is fun also its crazy whats in that game. in the first half hour or so of gameplay the player receives a lap dance from 3 women, peeps on a girl in her bedroom then tells another party member to check it out, and strips said person who he already knows is a girl before pretending not to have known.

More coop Elden Ring. Got trapped in Mt Gelmir Hero's Grave because of a bug ;_; Fortunately managed to escape after killing the boss. It was the first area that was completely broken by the coop mod

I wish ER would front load armor more. I like playing dress up, but your options are pretty limited until like 3/4 of the way through. I just got the confessor armor, which looks absolutely frickin sick

deadcells is so fricking good, it's underrated for how good it is imo

giving New Vegas a try as the only Fallout I've played before was 4 and I stopped halfway through twice

Manor Lords is good, but I'm happy I'm playing it on Game Pass for now. Pretty bareboned.

Also this week been playing something that just came out called Ants Took My Eyeball. Kinda Dead Cells meets Spelunky. Could use some late game refinement but rather good.

Got unreal tournament 1999 running. Still quite a few active servers surprisingly. The regulars obliterate me but it's still a lot of fun. My other regular games feel so slow after playing UT.

Rimworld Anomaly still and Stalker: New Arsenal 7, it's been fun getting back into stalker and it's not nearly as neurodivergent as Stalker:Anomaly. I fricking hate all that minutiae of making sure to bring magazines and potty paper and bullshit. So it's nice to find a pack that is a lot more on par to the OG games.

I recently got back into Destiny 2 to catch up on the story and gear up before The Final Shape drops in a few weeks. It's been pretty entertaining and I can't wait to see how the story final wraps up more than a decade later

Manorlords and Helldivers

I really love helldivers I wish all of my friends did.

Manorlords is good, solid bones to the game. I think it would be better if the dev was less neurodivergent. He said he had a lot of stuff built out but he's not fully happy with it so it's still locked. If he just had the systems built and let them run in EA it would have a lot more content. But I am enjoying what is there.

My 360 is out of storage so I've been playing games that aren't backwards compatible. So far I'm looking at,
