EDIT: oh yeah i beat baldurs gayte and have achieved every build I wanted to in Elden Ring so i installed some games from my backlog.

Starting with Middle Earth: Shadow of War (not loving the controls) and probably Prey next. I also have to give Outer Wilds a proper go.

Oh and Chrono Trigger. I never properly beat Chrono Trigger on the SNES. I think i got to Magus' castle or whatever

This week, I've played a lot of Shapez 2, which I could best describe as Factorio for neurodivergents. It's genuinely really good, though. It's really more of an automation puzzle game, the "shapez" you make are simply to fulfill a variety of goals, as buildings, and possibly blueprints, are totally free. Instead this game focuses on scaling up in designs, and other kinds of scaling, instead of needing to make more aqua circuits so you can build more alpha fluid pumps, so that you have the alpha fluid you need to multiply the efficiency of your iron smelting operations, which is a much more natural gameplay loop. Still, highly recommend this if you like other automation games, it puts a neat spin on a lot of the usual mechanics.

Pathfinder WOTR

This may be the longest game I've ever played. I have over 150 hours on it and I still haven't finished it.

Been playing Hellpoint, a low budget russian(?) soulslike. lt's alright. The setting is neat - a space station where everythings gone to shit because they tried communicating with space gods. The combat is serviceable but the exploration is the best part. You'll have 3 available paths and 2 of them lead to new zones, which then lead to more zones and loop back to different parts of previous zones. I don't normally get lost in games but I'm having a hard time keeping track of where I've been and which areas I've fully explored.

Also played Rogue Legacy 2. Finished my first run, breddy gud.

Finished Dragon Age 2. I'll start Inquisition soon but first I'll play some other games and take a break. I still have the Uber special edition all dlc included version of Inquisition from when I bought it all those years ago so I might as well finally make the completionist run of the thing.

Right now I'm playing Disco Elysium and I think it's great I appreciate the varied ways to get through the game and how it remembers and reacts to even the smallest decisions you make. I really enjoy these RPGs with a focus on dialogue and problem solving instead of combat.

One thing I've noticed is that I can seemingly be every political ideology and copotype at the same time, at least for now. Does the game ever force you to lock in?

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is my game of the year so far, it's incredible. Like most everyone else I'm sick of Ubi's bullshit lately, but a banger is a banger. It's such a perfect mix of the original's exploration and precision platforming with the combat and the crazy back-flippin' move set of the 3D games, plus modern Metroidvania touches from games like Dead Cells and Hollow Knight. The combat is super fluid, fun, and frickin' tough. The exploration is great -- there's a lot you can do off the bat if you use puzzle solving and precision platforming skills, but there's also a lot (a lot) you need to come back to later when you've upgraded weapons and skills. Looks great, too. Haven't seen a 2D game this good looking in a while.

Only downside so far is the map is enormous and fast travel is... limited? I have one icon on my map so far that says 'fast travel' but I can't do anything about with it. It takes a fairly long butt time to traverse the map, but I think there's a full fast travel system in the game, I just haven't unlocked it yet.

Gaming has literally never been better than it is now. You can play highly polished and continuously updated shooters and mobas FOR FREE (Fortnite, League of legends). Best RPG of all time came out last year (BG3). Nintendo is still doing its thing if you're into that.

The only type of game that has really declined in quality is RTS, and that said SC2 is still free and you can get a game in minutes.

FF14 raiding

The Queen Bee was such a fricking hassle to pug, everyone kept fricking that one up. It was such a massive wall for shitters that the next boss was significantly easier, simply because most of the r-slurs were filtered.

Vintage story

I bought Far Cry 5 for a few bucks and not even the low pricepoint is silencing my need to sneed about how shit of a frogslop game it is.

I finished CP77:PL and thought I was pozzed enough to not complain

Doom eternals DLC, part 1 has been really fun so far, can't complain about multiple final sin type fights but even harder

Played some hollow knight. I liked it a fair bit but some of the bosses were so cheap I just quit and looked up what was left of the game.

I think it is a bit overrated but that is only because people act like it was the best game ever. Really it is just a well made tight platformer/hack-and-slash but with amazing visuals and music that combine to create one of the best atmospheres in gaming.

The green path and city of tears really stood out to me.
