This week, let's discuss Devil Daggers, the PEAK open world survival craft game, insofar as your open world is a bloody arena, average survival times are measured in seconds (.3% of people have made it to 500 seconds), and crafting is done by collecting mysterious red gems, which serve to enhance your combat abilities. Just started playing Mount and Blade 2:Bannerlord earlier this week and don't really know wtf I'm doing, but I'm having fun. Bought a caravan, had my caravan ransacked, made my brother pilot a new caravan, bought a tannery, got taken hostage, escaped, started a siege on a castle, defended it from a larger enemy army, huge friendly army showed up, took the castle, Johnny-Come-Latelys stole all the booty.
Very fun so far.

You ever play the original Mountain Blade? I liked that but I heard bitching about Mountain Blade II not being better or something. Maybe they've fixed it now.
Also before that we had Sid Meier's Pirates in 1987 that really is basically the same game except with a different kind of tactical combat.

Seriouspost tho: Anyone who has any interest in games beyond just playing them should play everything that Sid Meier has ever done. Lots of different stuff in different genres because he invented most of the genres. He invented "tycoon".
Also Pirates is timeless. Lots of fun. It still 100% holds up today, and I come back to it regularly. They did a reboot in the 2000s that was actually 100% as good. Incels got butthurt because it included a dancing minigame. Umm... maybe try to get good strags?
