Screenrant is a known clickbait website and they're likely doing this for attention, but who cares because they're mad anyway

As you all surely know, I have been doing a freighter-only permadeath file. Self-imposed restrictions are as follows:

• No expedition or twitch drop rewards besides cosmetics

• No terrestrial bases. This includes mines and farms.

• Freighter travel ONLY. Absolutely no interstellar warping with a starship. This has made finding any emeril at all a nightmare and overall progress is currently bottlenecked there. I have found cadmium from a Nexus mission and a frigate expedition brought me indium though.

• No buying anything but tech modules. All materials and goods must be mined, rewarded or gotten via the freighter.

• No still-vanilla exploits.

• No ships at all aside from the starter Radiant Pillar BC1.

• No free derelict detectors from Helios. Nanite rewards for discoveries are allowed.

• Freighter must be a mini freighter, not a capital ship.

At the 23 hour mark, setup is as follows:

Inventory is expanded out the butt, hazard protection allows 10 minutes or so before needing to chuck sodium in without shield damage, jetpack is competent -

Storage augs for the ship are slow to come by and expanding with cash is at this time prohibitively expensive, but it's up to A class and it should be S with a few more days. Maneuverability is finally almost tolerable and the positron ejector makes quick work of everything.

Ugly A class rifle I found early. Looking forward to replacing it with a salvaged S sentinel when I can be bothered to hunt for it but the scatter blaster gets the job done.

Ugly colored Enterprise-style mini freighter. Around 9-10 hours were spent hunting for an S one of these. It was exhausting. All freighter build parts are unlocked and I have a massive farm inside to hoard resources. About 3 more harvests and I'll demolish it and start actually building artfully and make a coherent planned farm on the ship. Tech is fully researched besides the emeril and indium drives. Given the emeril bottleneck I'm not too concerned about this. I am really glad to be almost done scanning every NPC freighter and guild mission list for SFMs.

All in all it's been a great time so far. I am leaving for two weeks now though and Worlds2 should be dropping the week I get back and it will be nice exploring the update on this gimped file. Per datamined info, we are getting at least 2 new land biomes, 5 or 7 water biomes, a shitload of new flora and fauna assets, there's a whole new stellar class (everything in these systems is dissonant; they're bringing some of the phantom stars out to handle this) with a new stellar resource and it looks really sick.
