Game to Discuss?

What is responsible for the downfall of the west? Theories abound, but my preferred theory traces its downfall to the release of Huniepop, in 2015. It's chief innovation was in discovering the combination of :marseycoomer2: coomer pleasing and ultra-casual gameplay, being essentially a clone of Candy Crush. Before the release of Huniepop, coomers had to make do with coom games which were either ultra difficult, insanely neurodivergent, or literally not a game (I'd provide examples, but you really don't want them), and, invariably, featured insane amounts of terrible not-your-fetish content. Huniepop discarded all this baggage with relative ease, being simple, not neurodivergent, relatively vanilla, and minimally gamelike. This laid the foundation for the modern mobile game, in many ways, given that the average mobile game aimed at moids has the exact same characteristics, and these mobile games, in turn, caused wh*te moids to abandon the prospect of breeding, forever. The best part of this formula is that it's not all that offputting to foids - they can handle the gameplay, and don't really mind the coomer nonsense, and if there happens to be :marseyeyeroll: femboys, foids will flock to it like a moth to flame (see: Genshin Impact). Was this the most successful :marseycoomer: game? It seems like :marseycoomer2: games remain a niche with janky tech demos and visual novels that never get finished. Even :marseykamikaze: shit is still basically generic RPGMaker games or slightly higher budget visual novels.

I remember when Subverse was announced and people got hyped that it would be the high-budget :coomerface: game that would save the genre, until it released and everyone was disappointed.

Huniepop somehow broke the :coomer: curse and got some decent mainstream attention, even getting enough to make it a franchise that many normies have at least heard of.

probably. There's lots of well done coomer games, but anything with a Patreon will never be fully released or finished, which is the model most western devs inevitably gravitate to. Also important is that is was allowed on Steam long before most coom games, plus the lack of turn-off fetishes makes it more appealing to everyone.
