What is responsible for the downfall of the west? Theories abound, but my preferred theory traces its downfall to the release of Huniepop, in 2015. It's chief innovation was in discovering the combination of :marseycoomer2: coomer pleasing and ultra-casual gameplay, being essentially a clone of Candy Crush. Before the release of Huniepop, coomers had to make do with coom games which were either ultra difficult, insanely neurodivergent, or literally not a game (I'd provide examples, but you really don't want them), and, invariably, featured insane amounts of terrible not-your-fetish content. Huniepop discarded all this baggage with relative ease, being simple, not neurodivergent, relatively vanilla, and minimally gamelike. This laid the foundation for the modern mobile game, in many ways, given that the average mobile game aimed at moids has the exact same characteristics, and these mobile games, in turn, caused wh*te moids to abandon the prospect of breeding, forever. The best part of this formula is that it's not all that offputting to foids - they can handle the gameplay, and don't really mind the coomer nonsense, and if there happens to be :marseyeyeroll: femboys, foids will flock to it like a moth to flame (see: Genshin Impact). They catered to whiny r-slurs that refused to learn how the play the game and now the difficulty is fundamentally fricked. There is 0 tension because you know that if you do take damage you can just spam parry for free health.

i dislike games where the main gameplay loop is killing tons of grunts so i didnt stick with SM 1 after killing a thousand boys. didnt try bumping the difficulty tho :marseythinkorino:

I don't think 1 gets much better on higher difficulties since it becomes too dangerous to melee much. 2 had a much better system where you had the cowtools to survive in melee and it forced you to use them but the players were too stupid to learn so they just made it impossible to die.

They did the same to Helldivers 2. The game was easy on the highest difficulty but required a modicum of thought and since everyone seems to think they must play on the highest difficulty they screeched until everything got buffed to the point of it being bread dead tedius.
