Let me tell you all about the rabbit hole I fell down in the past couple weeks:

I have been trying to go back and play old gems I missed out on. I missed the entire character-action genre (devil may cry, bayonetta, etc.), and I had started one previously but forgot about it.

So, I fired up PCSX2 and played through the entirety of God Hand. If you don't know God Hand, you are in for an absolute treat

You may have heard of God Hand via IGN's infamous 3/10 review score, which played a significant part in the game being a massive flop in sales and caused Clover Studio (Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and God Hand) to shut down

God Hand's combat/gameplay is, I would argue, visionary game design that critics simply misunderstood; it's a 3D beat-em-up directed by the same guy who created Resident Evil (and was director of RE4), and it uses the same camera system/tank controls as RE4. This may sound absurd, but the learning curve is short, and once the deeper mechanics of combat click, I can't think of a more satisfying combat system outside of fighting games and, funny enough, original RE4.

Give it a shot g*mers, it's hilarious, fun, challenging, and only an 8-10ish hour campaign that you could play over a weekend

Frostpunk 2, just finished the story mode. I am glad I got it despite the kinda mixed reviews, it seems about as good as the first just very different and zoomed out. You are required to make many choices about migration policy. Personally I generally allowed entry to the Frostland people but when some of them became ideological and terroristic I built a new settlement and had the guards encourage that minority to self-deport in a humane and orderly fashion

Skyrim, it is so frustrating that you must use mods for these games, but doing that is its own odyssey. I guess now you just pick some degenerate NEET's list of 500+ mods and ram it in automatically, and you end up with this.

And I ain't even seen the actual genitals in the game anywhere, I don't want to and won't try but maybe they are lurking.

The new dynasty warriors is actually an enjoyable game. Sucks there aren't a million characters but the combat improvements and presentation upgrade make up for it

Skyrim as always Nothing will ever be this comfy again I fear. Especially after falloff 76 and starfailed.

Pure alchemy build is slowly devolving into a stealth archer but this is the way of things.

Finished Castlevania 1 (NES) and Gaia Crusaders (Arcade) this week. Also played a bunch of Tetris, both the ModRetro version and Rosy Retrospection DX. Not sure which I prefer.

Started New Vegas finally, but I'm only a couple of hours in. It starts pretty slow, slower than 3 IMO, but I'm sure it'll pick up. Hopefully it lives up to the hype, if it's disappointing I'm going to single-handedly start the trans genocide.

Played Nine Sols, beat one ending, tried the other and quit on phase 3 of Eigong after a couple tries because I wasn't having fun with how long it took to get to it.

Playing Katana Zero now, fun game.

Playing fallout shelter again, my vault is full of BIPOCs, I have a 2 cute blondes and no BWC to breed them with

Finally started Chapter 6 of my first RDR2 playthrough, and I still wanna frick Karen.

It's like "Post-Void" but less eyerape.

I'm playing Control and it's actually pretty fun. I've never seen people talk about it though

Anyway I've been giving Dragons Dogma 2 a try. Not a fan of vocations locking me out of certain gear n stuff but I am enjoying climbing on monsters and stabbing them in the head.

Vermintide II with a friend. Probably would've been better with 4 people but oh well.

It took me some 20 hours but I finally understand the fun in this game, there's dedinitely more to it than just M1 spam as it appeared initially

Lotsa old shit, as usual. Really all over the map this week - Dreamcast, Atari 2600, Gameboy/GB Color/GB Advance, Genesis, Saturn, etc. Just browsing around my roms, "I guess I'll play that" x100. Spent a few hours in Saturn Bomberman, probably the best Bomberman.

Medieval Total War 2 a Bloodlines game with a friend. It's currently my rule as the Byzantines.

I forgot that everyone ends up hating you in that game pretty much regardless of what you do. I'm at war with The Papal States, The Mongols, The Turks, Hungary (They have some settlement somewhere I can't find but aren't a real threat anymore), off and on with the HRE. Hungary was my best bud till they hit me randomly, The Mongols broke a ceasefire also randomly. It's going well but a lot of manually controlled battles.

Just lost a huge one to the Mongols because their cav is insane. I hate fighting horse archers.

pushing through Borderlands 1. I overall like the game but darn is it buggy and the enemy balance is terrible. Hoping 2 is a bit more refined

Finished Deus Ex for the first time.The insistence on stealth and non-lethal takedowns in the early game left a bad taste in my mouth, I gave up on pacifism in the mid and late game and the game became a lot more enjoyable.

@Losercel you marked a few games as to do, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Anyways, I've been playing Old World+Civ VI+Civ IV. Civ VI is so close to being good, but Old World is so much better in every way, it's really not fair. Unfortunately, none of my friends own Old World, so I'm stuck playing Civ VI for multiplayer. I'd also like to shill NIMBY Rails, because it's possibly the best transportation game released in a long time. It's a relatively simple game, your business is transporting passengers, but the "twist" is that it's all played in a loose model of the real world, based on open street maps and population density.

I'm back on that Warframe bullshit. Haven't played in about 7 years so lots to do.

Played some Mindwave demo. It is an indi game that is basically a storydriven warioware game, where the minigames are inspired by the inner psyche of a character. The music and animations are REALLY good. Honestly the expirience of the demo was like 9/10 but I don't know how it would translate into a full game.

I've gone back and started playing. Tropico 3-5 again.
